The front desk gal was so helpful. when we arrived a day early, she set us up in the same room we had already reserved for the next 4 days. I'm pretty easy to please but, this was disappointing. The rooms were run down. The 1st key cards didn't work (the key readers on the doors were very old) and I was alone with my child. We were both tired and arms full of our overnight things when I discovered the keys were absolutely not going to work. I called the front desk and they said to come […] back. So we had to reload all our items in the car and walk around the complex to the front desk. Nobody offered to come meet us at the room with replacement keys nor did they offer to escort us back to make sure the new ones worked. It took several more tries and another call but we got in the room. The room was alright but very stinky. Heavy old smoke smell and it was a non smoking room. The bed was super over soft and at about 3am a clicking sound in the wall started and continued every 90 seconds the rest of the night. I don't know what it was but it kept waking me up the rest of the night. The breakfast was ok but it's the first time I was charged for a breakfast, I've stayed there before and it came with the room. This should have been mentioned. The check in paperwork just said come have breakfast, nothing about a charge. My son was excited about pancakes or waffles but, none offered. "Doesn't meet usual Red Lion standards"
One of the noisiest stays I have had in years. This is NOT a hotel, but rather a motel with highway traffic, rolling carts, "housekeeping" being yelled out from the sidewalk, and a train whistle just SOME of the noises going on all night.I left the room exhausted and cranky. "Didn't get right room"
I reserved a King Bed Room for my son and they were given a small Queen Bed Room. They had stayed at this hotel the night before and had a queen room, there were in Eugene for a school activity and were too tired to drive home afterwardson Saturday so I booked them a King Bed room as they stood at the check in counter through expedia. We came up as we had appointments on a Monday so we stayed Sunday over night. The double queen room that was pet friendly was not only extremely decent in size it also had a convenient sliding door that opened I to a nice private grassy court yard area were our pets could potty. They provide doo doo bags and a trash to dispose them in the courtyard […] as well. The beds were pillowtops, so nice to know we can get an amazing night sleep away from home which is rare typically when your staying in hotels. Rooms are very updated and plush and focus on cleanliness was definitely there. The continental breakfast very good! Cheesy eggs, sausage, bacon, bagels, toast, fruit, cereal, juices coffee milk coffee. Everything in a catering form so very professional. "Nice for a Motel, but not a Hotel"
This is technically a motel - it has exterior doors which, as a female traveling alone, I don't like. The pictures on the website do not show that. The room was a little dated and could use a fresh coat of paint. The room was very spacious, beds were very comfortable. Hot tub was actually hot (unlike most places) and was very clean. The deck overlooking the courtyard was a nice touch. I stayed overnight to catch a VERY early morning flight. I had come to Eugene to pick up the 18mo little boy that my husband and I are adopting. The staff were very helpful in everything from relocating my room to a ground level, to the bar cooking a meal my 18 mo could eat, to extra assistance at shuttle pick up so I didn't have to carry everything […] myself. But the most amazing part was that I had a few boxes I was unable to fly with me and housekeeping locked the items up until I could arrange for someone to pick up on Monday (I stayed Saturday night).
