"Disappointing stay"
Was disappointted with the hotel after all of the hype. While we were on our walks we discovered several hotels in the area with beter accomodations for just a few dollars more.

"Fog horns and Sea Lions"
Right over the water, great Sea Lions and Fog horns, beautiful view of the foggy marina. Crashed here after a night taking in some of Astoria's best breweries and snugs, perfect place to be. Little pricey for the season but worth it.

"Really enjoyed our stay!"
We've really enjoyed our stays at Astoria Riverwalk Inn during the annual NW Brew Cup events. Especially like the second floor dockside rooms. Front desk associates are always pleasant and professional. Delighted to see the continental breakfast offering re-instated! Only suggestion: our bathroom needed attention/upgrade (paint & trim work); it was clean and well supplied with towels.

"great"
We came to astoria for our 28th wedding anniversary although the first night was a little rough after talking with the front desk and the new owner they went went out of there way to make the rest of our stay fabulous. The room they moved us into was absolutely amazing. We can not wait to go back with our family. The location of the hotel is fine I personally would make a sign that is way more visible to the guests from the main road. Housekeeping really needs some work on the customer service I had asked for my sheets to be changed an even left a tip to come back from our day out to just have to remake the bed myself and pick up. Not happy about that considering I did leave them a tip. I was a housekeeping supervisor and I know all to well that housekeeping plays a major role in the experience of a guest in weather they will be returning. All in all the riverwalk inn was good to us so I will not let one issue of housekeeping keep us from returning.

"Astoria Riverwalk Inn - worth every penny"
It is a great hotel with rooms right on the water. When we were there it rained at night so we went out on the deck and watched it. It was beautiful. Hotel had very comfy beds, free dvd rental, and a perfect sized breakfast in the morning.

"Best deal in town"
I have watched this property evolve for over 30 years. It does get some less than perfect reviews at times but a recent stay shows strong evidence that the managers are putting some effort into keeping it clean and maintained to a level between good and excellent. Sure, there will be slight imperfections but if one can look past that to appreciate the location on the water and everything else the neighborhood has to offer, it is a good place to stay. The room was clean, the bathroom had recently been overhauled, and the water was hot. It was a good night.

"Somewhere to sleep"
Cool view over the docks. Tiles missing in shower. Some lights in the room were burnt out. Curtains were torn. Bed was one of those that you both ended up in the middle (-: Check in was no earlier than 4:00. It was a little rough, but affordable and a place to sleep.

"Comfortable room, BUT...."
My room was very comfortable with a lovely view of the marina. BUT, I was out of toilet paper for 2 days and called and called the front desk to bring some. The 1st nite, they said they were coming but never did, the 2nd day I called and called until someone finally showed up. Meanwhile, my room was cleaned during the day while I was out. The maid did not put out any toilet paper (!), didn't make the bed, didn't pick up the dirty towels and just kicked them under the sink. The carpet in my room had not been vacuumed and was dirty. One of the staff told me the hotel was short staffed. It led me to wonder how well the rooms were cleaned between guests, so I was afraid to use the tub and didn't walk around with bare feet.

"Great Location - Well Used Room"
We had a great time. The hotel was about what you would expect for the price. There were some exposed/puttied screw holes in the walls and it seemed a bit dingy (or well used). Overall though it was great. The bed was comfortable, the view was good, we felt safe, and we were really close to one of the best seafood restaurants in town!

"Very restful nights sleep"
I only stayed one night and thought the room was not too small. There were some stains on the floor but felt this didn't take away from the acceptable comfort level. It had two too many remotes to control the tv and video. One wrong move and it was difficult to get back to the main and watch anything on the tv.Great shower setup.

"3 Star Hotel with a 5 Star View"
The hotel was well-worth the price. Hotel is in a great location, right on the Astoria river walk that gives easy accessibility to restaurants and shopping. Our room had an incredible view of the Columbia river and the bridge. Bed was comfy. But the hotel is a bit run down which is surely why the price was so good.

Old school tv that you can't completely operate from the remote. Bed sheets that don't fit. I was told check-in is at 4:00 but 3:30 would be no problem, it was. I will not be back.

Just a quick overnight for fishing (right out of the attached marina.) The rates are very reasonable, and I hope the Port or City will invest in further rehabbing this classic place.

"Great hotel for location and management"
We loved the hotel. The sight outside of our room was great. It was in a great area of Astoria. The boardwalk and trolley was just behind the motel. It was in the center of the town and close to stores and restaurants and sites. I would stay there again the next time I am in Astoria.

This is a great find! Will probably return for a week next year because Astoria is such a cool spot and this place is great...bicycles to use in a bike friendly town with lots to explore...movies...right on the water - the rear of the hotel is the yacht basin...friendly locally owned hotel managed with great pride and enjoyment by the owners...

"Birthday weekend"
02/09/16 Peter Z
Spent my Birthday here with my Wife. Great value, wonderful room with a wonderful view.....just far enough from downtown that it was perfect. Lots of great restaurants, bars, shops and quality breweries. We have been twice now and have an upcoming weekend planned. Great quality and price, wonderful service.

"Improved some but a lng way to go"
02/01/16 Milespert Portland, Oregon
They definetly have different levels of rooms form dark and dingy to not awful. moved form one to another and it got better initial reactions was lets get out of here. After one night asked for a move and they were very accommodating. Give credit to the staff, they are all VERY helpful.. The place they say has been refreshed but the shower bars are not connected to the walls and if they are they are ready to fall out. The soaps and shampoos got better each day and byt he last day things were tolerable. Has potential to be outstanding but I would urge remodeling ASAP. Positives the view ( if you get the right rooms) the help was very nice and tried to do their best with what they have to work with. It was quiet enough, and the refrigerator and microwave are clean and work well. Negatives, the TV's are not HD, they do not get HBO and Showtime, all of the tv's mounted to the wall have cords running down the walls, the furniture is rickety and the deck chairs are the plastic kind that break if your over 200 lbs. Probably better for family weekends then couples retreats just know at this one you get what you pay for. A strong dull normal with 5 star view

"This motel has certainly improved in the last year. It has new owners."
02/01/16 teri1352 Portland, Oregon
Ths motel has greatly improved since the last visit maybe a year ago. The rooms have been redone, painted and and updated a bit. It is cleaner, the breakfast is back and it just looks better. The cracked concrete on the upper floor walk around will be done in the future as well as the roof and the exterior. The interior is so much better that it is worth taking a short trip from Portland to check it out. We were glad to see it id being renovated as it is a HUGE property. We are hoping the restaurant will be reopened sometime in the future.

We had a groupon for two nights at this place. It is an older property but the room was nice and the bed very comfortable. Very clean. Our little balcony overlooked the Astoria bridge and a large marina. We were right on the water. Nothing fancy here, but also not a bad place at all.

"Astoria's Best Kept Secret."
01/04/16 Karen S Seattle, Washington
Traveling from the Oregon coast with my husband, we were challenged by the long drive back home to Seattle after exploring the coastline. We found the Astoria Riverwalk Inn by accident driving through and were surprised to find a waterfront Inn that was clean, a great value, with freshly remodeled rooms with all the amenities (High speed wifi, cable, frig, very nice sheets (high thread count) and with a tasty included breakfast). After waking we discovered beautiful water views of the bridge and harbor and a great waterfront walkway to downtown. We decided to explore bit and found lots of things to see our next time through. Our favorite experience staying here was the super friendly staff. Thanks guys you made our top ten list of our week long vacation experience. We will be back.

We had a very pleasant experience at the Riverwalk Inn. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate our needs and were very friendly. The room we stayed in had amazing views of the marina, with floor to ceiling windows on two of the walls and a waterfront deck. Everything was very clean. They have a continental breakfast available that is just what you would expect. We stayed in one of the rooms that has yet to be renovated and hope to visit again when the renovation is done.

I planned a romantic & exploratory trip to coastal OR with my Fiancée & Pooch. This was a perfect HomeBase. We stayed in one of the few pet friendly rooms which was nice. Loved the fresh ocean breeze on the waterfront deck. Let's say we were pleasantly surprised. A healthy choice breakfast was included. The hospitality made us feel very taken care of. Been back a few times since.

We stayed here for two nights using Groupon and found great value for the money. The position of the hotel couldn't be better. All rooms look out over the Columbia River. The room has a small fridge, microwave, coffee maker and good WiFi. My only complaint would be that the bed was a little too soft. They also have a couple beach cruiser bikes that you can borrow for free. There is also a decent continental breakfast. This is the view from room 214.
