"Anniversary celebration weekend"
We only stay there for one night - should of booked for one more - the room was very large with mountain and pool view, king bed was very relaxing, a perfect room for romantic gaaway, staff was very kind and politeGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I went to just get away with girlfriends. The service and amenities are above and beyond a resort. I will definitely be going back.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Mountain view with a King bed."
The King bed was very comfortable, the a/c was cold. The bathtub was huge. Frustrating there was no ice machine in our building as we wanted our drinks to stay cold. Disappointed to see the price list of snacks inside refrigerator upon arrival. $5 to $12 per item in refrigerator. We felt that since it was a 5 star hotel they should have included some […] snacks as complimentary or at least had complimentary breakfast. Nothing was free here. This is the most spectacular resort I have ever stayed in! The spa is so peaceful and beautifully decorated! I would go back in a heartbeat. The price during summer months is unheard of!Genuine Expedia guest review
came in late, got escorted by them to my room - i would have gotten lostGenuine Expedia guest review
I loved this resort. There was a quite adults only pool as well as a larger pool for everyone. The service was great! I can't wait to go back again! Perfect location to all the restaurants and attractions.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I took a break from the routine of summer life in Phoenix Found the oasis that is Montelucia . Main pool was great not a fan of the music somewhat rock and roll For the environment. Adult pool is beautiful with the mountain backdrop and quiet !Genuine Expedia guest review
We headed to Scottsdale with another couple for an anniversary celebration. The other couple had been to Scottsdale many times and stayed at other properties. This was the first time for all of us at the Montelucia Resort. We were all very pleased with the rooms, the staff and over-all amenities of the property.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great Resort in Perfect Location"
After staying at several other resorts around the valley we decided to try out the Montelucia. What a great resort. The staff we very hospitable and were quick to respond to any request. The rooms were spacious and very clean. The workout room was one of the best around. We will definitely be returning.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"To be quite honest...."
I had always wanted to try this Resort. So, I decided to book this one instead of the resort I always stay at across the way. Upon checking in I felt barraged by "this is extra, that is extra and if you want that ? It's extra too" I truly felt, that it was because I had booked through a third party. Then upon my entering the door to my room, I got a […] call from a girl asking me how I liked my room? I told her I had just walked in the door and picked up the phone. She (sounding highly irritated with me) said"oh" and hung up on me. Needless to say, I picked up my bag and checked out of this resort and promptly went back to my beloved resort across the street. I did speak with the Manager and he had informed me that he has heard the complaint of the guest feeling nickeled and dimed upon check-in and asured me it wasn't because I booked it through a third party. I must say. He was very apologetic and kind. With that being said I still will never go back! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
We celebrated our 28th anniversary at the Montelucia and the property and location were spectacular. As perfect as the property was, the service was even more exceptional. From the curbside greetings from the valet to the server at the pool and the front desk to the maid service everyone was friendly and competent. We will definitely be staying here […] again. "Very nice and quiet"
Great sale price on hotels.com - we now know why they say June is off-season. It was 110+ all weekend. Beautiful resort - food was even better - although a bit pricey. Prado happy hour had great food. Crave coffee in the morning and bakery was very good. Oasis pool was also very quiet for an adult only pool. Would recommend this as a great place to […] stay for a getaway with your spouse. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice place to relax"
I had a great weekend at Montelucia. I lucked out with an amazing room and views of Camelback but noted that if I wasn't conveniently located at the front of the resort, I may not be as thrilled with the resort. Everything was right near my door. The service was great, the food was overall really good and I enjoyed all of the amenities at the spa.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Fantastic Resort with Customized Service"
Montelucia is the perfect getaway for any reason. With excellent facilities, a highly trained and wonderful staff, great food, and a fantastic spa you simply cannot go wrong. Being that I was not going to Scottsdale for the golf but rather just a resort vacation Montelucia was perfect. With no golf course the resort pours its attention into the guests […] and the beautiful grounds. The resort never felt crowded even while fully booked. The food at all the restaurants was excellent. The staff knows you by name everywhere you go and remembers you every day. In trying to be nit picky I would ask that the resort serve frozen margaritas but that is truly as far as my complaints can go. The room was in great shape and always clean. The pools were perfect and never to full. Overall I cant recommend this resort enough for anyone looking for a getaway, special event (we did see a beautiful wedding), or chance to try out a new place! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

A beautiful oasis in the middle of Phoenix/Scottsdale. Wonderful ambiance, service, food, room. The bathrooms are especially nice. A very peaceful experience.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great Place to stay"
The grounds were awesome. Great place for a mini vacation.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Resort View misleading"
The hotel was nice, however we booked a room with a resort view which faced the side of a building. Resort view could be of anything on the resort, ie, parking lot, other buildings, etc. Not the actual mountains as shown. The pool was at maximum capacity, it was very hard to get a seat at the pool, the only chairs open were the cabana chairs which came […] with a $200 fee for renting the cabanas. There was no verification to ensure that you were a guest at the resort, and it appeared that non guests were using the pools. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"A great surprise!"
We had a wonderful 3 night stay at the Montelucia. Although I would rate the service as 41/2 stars, the overall experience was definitely fantastic. I would definitely recommend a family trip or a romantic getaway here.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent hotel for the "Expedia" price"
For the price I paid through Expedia, you can't beat it.Genuine Expedia guest review
My only complaint was that we reserved a Cabana and they quoted us $175.00 and then charged us $200.00 at checkout. Also the service for the cabana was not good-only 2 lounge chairs etc....alot of money for a tent--nothing special. They hotel and employees very niceGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Enjoyed 4 nights at the resort. Outstanding service and quality. Our favorite was lounging by the pool. Katrina (our server) did an exceptional, friendly job. Thanks for making our trip so enjoyable. Our favorite places to eat while in town were Elements, Orange Sky, and Olives & Ivy. Also enjoyed the hike up Camelback.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Cannot wait to return!"
AMAZING HOTEL! My husband and I booked at this hotel for our first Anniversary over Memorial Weekend. We had never been to Scottsdale so we based our choice of this hotel of the reviews from other travelers. We LOVED IT! Our flight arrived early in the morning so we arrived at the hotel at about 9:30am - we assumed we would have to wait to get a room […] but they had one ready. We were sitting out by the adult pool by 10:30am with a glass of champagne in hand! The waitress treated us like kings - she comped our bottle of champagne for our anniversary. Food at the pool was very good. We get back to our room to find chocolate covered strawberries sent from recpetion to also celebrate our anniversary - it's the little things that make a huge difference. Crave Cafe has delicious coffee in the morning and yummy little empanadas. The Prado restaurant was also excellent. All in all, the staff was top notch, rooms were beautiful and they catered to your every need. Can't wait to go back! oh- the Joya Spa is incredible! you must check it out. The facial treatment I got was worth every penny! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"A desert gem"
Montelucia is a well designed resort with excellent management. We very much enjoyed our stay and highly recommended it to others. The Prado restaurant has class and offers delicious foods and drinks. The pools are great too. One gets close to a Vegas party while the other offers serenity.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Fantastic location for romatic get-away"
We snuck down to Phoenix for a long weekend get-away and absolutely loved our time at the hotel. We had a long list of sites to go and see around town, but instead ending up spending the entire weekend pool-side. The room was fantastic, the view excellent, and the bathroom and balcony were awesome. A couple of notes: - The main pool is the "party […] pool" and is very crowded and loud. There is an "Adult Pool" (the Oasis) which is much quieter. - The cabanas need to be reserved, but if you are going to spend the whole day by the pool, it's worth getting one ($200 for the entire day, includes a couple of food items and water) Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Beautiful Resort...Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Can't say enough about it. It will be my new, "Go To" in PhoenixGenuine Hotels.com guest review
My only slight irritation is that concierge lady talked me into taking the hotel limo to the Art museum. She said it costs $41 and the taxi would cost $38. The taxi back cost $27. Otherwise my stay in the hotel was a very pleasant one. The walking path from the hotel to Camelback mountain was closed. That was disappointing.Genuine Expedia guest review
Everyone was helpful and friendly. Service was more than expected. Beautiful grounds. Wish I was there:)Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great Trip, The Only Issue For Us Was A Lack Of Food Choices. The Food We Got Was Great, But They Need More Restaurant Options! Luckily, Cheesecake Factory Is Just Up The Street, So A Couple Trips There Saved It. The Hotel Staff Was Possibly The Best We Have Ever Encountered, They Were All Great!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The resort is beautiful! We enjoyed the stay and the location in town was excellent for what we wanted to see during our stay. We thought the drink service in the pool area was terrible and the price of the drinks off the charts. The server kept telling us she would be right back about 4 times - took about 45 minutes to get a drink order. Finally took […] our order and she asked us if we wanted a double...we were thinking two drinks each rather than one since the service was so slow. Nope...it was a double shot in a tiny plastic cup for $24! And to make it worse it surly didn't taste like it had extra alcohol in it. $48 for two drinks plus $5 tax and $5 tip ruined the mood for awhile. Everything else about the place was fantastic. "Nice hotel on an Expedia Special"
The Montelucia is a very nice, self-contained, and comfortable resort. Our first time here and we stayed for two nights. We were lucky to get in on a special price being offered via Expedia. Be aware that this resort has lots of add-ons and fees. For example, there is a $25 per day resort fee not included in the Expedia price. We were okay with paying […] the fee, but just want people reading this to be forewarned. The rooms are very spacious and intriguingly decorated in Morrocan style. Beautiful bathrooms with full tile stand-up showers and a tub. The grounds around the resort are beautifully landscaped and laced with paths and fountains. Several pool choices are available but the main one is where we enjoyed our time. Tents and umbrellas are in great supply so we had no problem setting up temporary quarters while enjoying the majestic waters at the pool. The best part of the experience was being able to walk 100 feet to the fine dining after enjoying the pool. The brunch was awesome with some of the highest quality fruit we've had. Dinner was even better. These folks take food preparation seriously and deliver a 5 star meal. The bruschetta was out of this world, with locally grown tomatoes that melt in your mouth. The New York cut steak and the scallops were our main courses and were top notch. Overall, we were very pleased. Mothers Day was very busy in the restaurant so understandably we were unable to get brunch. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Not a 5 star!"
If you are looking for a 5 star resort look elsewhere! I took my wife here as a surprise the day before Mother's Day and I had a sitter for our child who would join us the next day. We arrived to the resort and as we checked in, the staff seemed a bit unorganized. We brushed that off and got our room. The room was nice with a big sitting area and back […] patio. The room was clean but they forgot to put any towels, soap, shampoo, ext in the bathroom! Not a huge deal but 5 star means spot on every time. We unpacked and changed into our bathing suits and headed to the ADULTS ONLY pool and ordered a bucket of beers. They finally came after about 10 minutes. We met a couple at the pool that were in the same field as us (medical providers) and were enjoying the company when all the sudden the pool filled up with 120 15 and 16 year olds. They were splashing everyone and screaming like little stuck up brats. Apparently the Resort booked a sweet 16 party and aloud them in an adult pool. I went to the office and complained as we specifically were trying to stay away from kids for just one day. We went to the kids pool for a bit and went back to our room to find 3 pieces of fruit and a sorry for housekeeping card. That was just an insult. Upon checkout the following afternoon we left an item in the room came back to the hotel to get it and they said are key was still active to walk in and get it. We walked (all the way to the far side of the property to find the key did not work. ARRRRG. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Wow! What a fabulous hotel/resort! The valets were clean cut and very professional. Front desk and bar staff wonderful. Great room overlooking camelback mtn and the adult pool. Loved the second level balcony. HUGE and just perfect for breakfast on our private balcony! Our only problem was the spa. Very pricey but we wanted to treat ourselves with a […] massage. Waited in line to check in for almost 15 minutes (yike). Then when the girl took us upstairs to the spa, she bounded the stairs 2 at a time - we could barely keep up. The rituals seemed like they would have been a beautiful way to start our spa experience but she ran through them so quickly, we barely understood them. The waiting room was out of water and tea and not kept up at all. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"First Arizona Resort Stay"
The facilities were very nice and clean. The pool areas were immaculate. The food in the main dining room was not that great. My scallop dish was way too salty and the salad dressing seemed all lemon with no oil. The arugula salad was very bitter. Portions were small for price. The spa was beautiful and I really enjoyed the massage & steam room as well […] as the outdoor pool terrace; however, they royally screwed up me and my sister's spa schedules & never called me back for my facial. They were booked and unable to correct or accommodate so neither of us receiced those treatments. My overall resort experience was just ok. I would not pick Montelucia upon returning to Scottsdale as they also overcharged and messed up on my final bill. I will give then kudos for a beautiful clean atmosphere. Excellent location. Pool(s) and common areas are magnificent. Rooms are extremely comfortable and my wife loved the bathroom. No real issues other than the typical. Food on site is very expensive but you're near to a lot of restaurants in Scottsdale and Paradise Valley. Quality is good but not worth what you pay for it.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great resort for couples!"
It was a wonderful couples get away. The adult pool is great for those wanting a quiet atmosphere. The service is wonderful throughout the resort. We upgraded our room and stayed at the back of the resort looking at the mountains. That was worth the extra money. Prado, the Cafe and the poolside meals were yummy!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Not the perfect location for a girls weekend..."
This is a quiet hotel in great condition. It would be perfect for a couples getaway weekend. We went for a girls trip and found that the hotel location wasn't ideal as we wanted to be closer to downtown/restaurants, etc. The pool was full with property owners that live in the residential portion of the resort. That being said, the pool waitress came […] by often and made sure everyone was taken care of. The chairs at the pool filled up fast. The spa was beautiful but the massage and facial providers were mediocre at best. We upgraded our room to a view of Camelback mountain with two queen beds. It wasnt worth the money as we were put in building 15 (at the very end of the property) and Camelback wasn't visible unless you climbed the fence. We didn't. All in all it was a clean and friendly resort. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Hotel was good. Sevice was satisfactory. The mail pool was not heated. This was brought to the attention of management which claimed that they were not aware and that the heating system was broken. The next day, the pool had heat. The car was brought to us by the valet covered by dust (sand storm from the previous night). For $27 a night, either the car […] has to be parked inside or washed before being brought to us.
