"Fair price for a great bed"
I love the beds..... I sleep so well. Bathroom shower a bit dated but over a great convient place to stay. The breakfast is getting better.... But I think they could do a little something different. Great helpful staff.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Spa closed in winter"
The room was nice enough. But they fail to disclose that the spa is outdoors and closed during the winter. It shows the pool is closed in the winter, but doesn't say anything about the spa being closed as well. This was very disappointing because I booked the hotel expecting to use the spa. I will never stay here again during the winter months.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Dog friendly, convenient"
The clerk who was working when we checked in was very nice. The rooms were fine - comfortable, warm, quiet. You could see the wear and tear showing on some items (like an arm chair was dingy or the grout wasn't bright) but absolutely nothing dirty, broken, or bad. I'd stay there again - especially because all Red Lions are dog-friendly. We were headed […] to the airport early the next morning and it was very convenient. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

nice, will stay again....big rooms, clean, good location for downtown.Genuine Expedia guest review
My only complaint is that the TV is in an armoire with doors that prevented viewing it from the nice easy chair that was in the room - otherwise it was clean, comfortable and the people were friendly.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Two separate stays. The first okay. A very dated motel, but clean. The second stay was less than adequate. To open the door required using your shoulder to force it open. And then you were greeted with the overwhelming use of scent sanitizer. It took hours for it to disperse even with the door to outside freezing temperatures.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Red Lion Inn Missoula We do apologize for any inconveniences that you had during your stay. In regards to the overwelming odor of sanitizer, we will definately bring this to the attenion of our housekeeping. We appreciate you taking the time to rate our hotel based on the experiences. You are a valued guest and we hope to better serve you during your next stay.
"2 night stay"
The only thing that really bothered us on our stay was that the manager knocked on our door and opened it around 930 am. We had been downtown the night before and were really looking forward to sleeping in for that reason, and we were on vacation. Don't open your guests doors before 10am!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
room was too warm at night and temp control didn't adjust properlyGenuine Expedia guest review
It was a comfortable and relaxing stay. The room was clean and spacious. The bed was comfy. I had my dog with me and my room was on the ground floor with a small lawn area located nearby for her needs. It was within walking distance of downtown. I found that convenient as I met some friends for dinner and drinks and enjoyed a walk back to the hotel. […] The staff was pleasant and able to answer all of my questions. "Would have been ok, but for the HEAT!"
While the room was tastefully decorated and the beds were comfortable, the room itself was HOT! Even though the heater said "off", it was hot in there. There was a stand alone AC unit which I turned on. It said it was 74 in our room. After a very hot and uncomfortable night trying to sleep, when I got up, it was 81 in the room! And te LOUD AC unit had […] been running all night. And I could still feel heat coming from somewhere in teh room. My son finally figured it out. There was an exhaust tube running behind the curtains and the window was closed. Which meant it was exhausting HOT aire back into the room faster than it could cool it off. They should have instructions taped to the AC unit, there were no instructions! When I told the woman at the front desk she said the maid should have had it set up properly and was sorry for my inconvience. That's it. And finally even though the room was clean, when I went to take a shower in the morning there was a used wash cloth in there and a bar of used soap. Made me wonder if they had even cleaned the shower.... Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"ehhh...ok if you get a great price."
Higher marks would've been given except the heat ran on high our entire stay when it was an unseasonably balmy 65 degrees outside. We contacted the front desk and they were very helpful, immediately bringing a portable A/C unit to our room, but running it was so loud that it was hard to sleep at night. The staff did all possible to remedy the situation, […] but the bigger picture was the all or nothing heating system of the entire facility. Breakfast was very good with above average complimentary offerings. The room was beautifully appointed, but the shower was pretty disgusting with moldish residue. It appears that an older motel was purchased and remodeled by Red Lion. Not what we really expected. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Mostly good stay..."
Pleasant environment, clean room, good free breakfast. But out of order air conditioner put a big damper on my overall experience...had to sleep in about 80 degree temperature when I'm normally used to sleeping at 65 degrees...Genuine Hotels.com guest review

I found the staff to be friendly and accommodating...as far as the room itself goes...the air conditioning was turned off and it took a day to get a stand alone unit in the room...really a fan and the ability to open a window would've been nice...the air temp. outside was cool in the evenings. Booked here for the pearl jam concert and no other walking distance hotels were available. It's a mile and a half walk to the event ctr through downtown. The rooms are HOT. "No Heat in our room"
We Stayed in mid sept, the temp. was 35 degrees in the evening and our room was freezing as the heat did not work asked the front desk and we were told they had not turned the heat on over the air conditioning( apparently because of the age of the hotel , you can have one or the other)so we froze the first night, they did provide a small space heater […] the 2nd night which helped.so we were not very happy with no heat in our room, they said they could take some money off our bill but they never did. Good location friendly staff, very nice room. Would definitely returnGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Generally very nice people - Alana and Sara - to name two. Met Emily, the housekeeper on our way out, she was delightful too. On Sunday morning, I asked if a document related to leasing a home could be scanned and e-mailed, and was assured it would be. After checking back repeatedly during the day every 90 minutes or so, I was told "in just a few minutes". […] By 4:30pm, I was told to go to a FedEx/Kinko's to do it myself. I did. The next morning at ~ 9:00, I got an e-mail confirming that the document had been scanned and faxed, almost 24 hours later! That didn't do me any good. I also reported a live bat hanging just outside our room door (unit # 139), and it was still there on check-out, nearly two days after I reported it. Lastly, the sole desktop PC available for guests went dead during our stay. When I inquired as to when it would be replaced, I got a vague reply "we ordered a new one, I don't know when it'll be here". No offer of an alternative at all. So, just a few things that were less than satisfying to me as a guest. Thanks. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

They put in a nice breakfast, however the seating was all tall stools, and and I had a hard time trying to seat my handicapped mother. The beds were very comfortable. "Comfortable room close to downtown"
Overall the location is great. You can walk a few blocks to most downtown shops and restaurants. If you have kids, the Carousel and park are a slightly longer walk, but well worth it. "HORRIBEL CUSTOME SERVICE! HORRIBEL EXPERIENCE!"
The customer service at this hotel was horrible. I had a problem with the reservation and tried to talk to the manager. I was told that I was "lucky" that the manager was there that day. This was at about 4 or 5 pm on a Sunday. The person at the front desk took my name and number and told me the manager would call me within the next 15 minutes. 30 minutes […] later with no call from the manager, I called back. The manager told me she would have to call me back in about 5 minutes. About an hour later with no call back I called again and the manager told me she had a line of people at the front desk and she sent her front desk worker on a break so she would have to call me back. Before she could do that, I quickly explained the situation to her and she said she would call me back. A couple hours later with no call back and I could see that there was no point in trying to get the money back for the one reservation/cancellation fee, so I sent the one soldier who had a reservation there to that hotel while the other five of us went to another that could accomodate us. The problem here was the fact that I was "lucky" that the manager would be there, the fact that I was repeatedly told I would get a call back within a specified time and never got one call back, EVER! That is horrible customer service. You might not have been able to solve my problem, but you could have at least listened to it, and that never happened in this situation. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. My room was fine but it was not ready at 3 pm. The desk clerk was faced with many travelers waiting for their rooms that he could not produce. He did keep his cool and was polite under less than perfect circumstances. The hot tub was promised to be usable but it was not open. They could use more ice machines. Overall though, it was a good stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Good enough but could be better"
Traveling from the Midwest, we needed an in-room refrigerator. Not here, though the front desk did store our perishables in the office frig. It was great though we were too busy to really enjoy the pool, breakfast etc. The room should have had a fridge and microwave but didn't though we were offered one and declined because we couldn't be bothered moving rooms. The room had only one bed and a tiny portable air conditioner that made the room smell like mildew and must. It did not work well enough to cool the room and since it was not properly vented, we could not even open the window. We stayed here years ago and were very happy, not this time. We will definitely look elsewhere next trip in October.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Good choice for a family"
Our room was spacious et very clean. The beds were very comfortable with soft sheets. The breakfast was decent. The outside pool was a nice plus on a hot day. The air conditioning was a window unit (the one in the room was out of order) and functioned adequately. Staff was very friendly.Genuine Expedia guest review
This hotel needs to go through a good cleaning. The bathroom was full of mold in the shower and the room was very musty. Open some windows. Our lights were on when we arrived in the room. "Not a good choice for family"

"Fine, but not fantastic"
This was a fine hotel and conveniently situated. On the positive side, the room was very clean. The employees were delightful and very friendly. I appreciated the effort to put together breakfast snacks for the marathoners and half marathoners, but the contents were not as promised. I was told the breakfast bags would contain fruit, juice, yougurt and […] granola bars. The bag actually contained an apple and a rice krispie bar (which to a runner is not at all the same as a granola bar). The guest computer was broken so I was unable to print my boarding pass, and there was no ice in any of the ice machines, so I had to ask for some at the front desk. On the day of the marathon, they actually ran out of ice, so I was unable to ice my sore hamstring. The compensation for the closed pool was a pass to the waterpark, which was great fun. Overall, I would stay there again, but only if I was not racing in the Missoula Marathon. This hotel needs preventive maintenance to be sure that everything is in working order.
