We stayed on Mother's Day weekend. We had good service. Room service was quick and the food was hot and reasonably price. Room was clean and comfortable. One complaint. The lobby area and staff were delightful but the room was clearly in need of heavy cleaning and perhaps some repairs. There were water stains all over the ceiling and other stains on the carpet which felt sticky. I didn't walk in bare feet. The cleaning staff had missed a couple of m&ms under the counter left by the previous guest which indicated a […] lack of care. "Old, poor upgrades, reeked of smoke!"
The hotel felt old and out of date, the bathroom within a bathroom made you feel like you were in the 70's and the 80's at the same time! My closet doors only opened half way because someone installed them on the same track. The bed squeeked like I was murdering a family of chipmunks every time I moved. The layout of the hotel is fine if you dont mind […] doing a quarter mile hike from your room back to the front desk, since I had parked at the entrance by my "Wing" I decided for room service and got breakfast... it was lackluster at best and cost $30 for an "international platter" sausage (still cold in the middle) eggs that were midway between scrambled and over easy, a burnt english muffin and wet hashbrowns. The worst part of my non-smoking room was it REEKED of smoke, I can normally ignore this but this was a mix of stale and new smoke in the room, plus my "balcony" wouldnt fully close so the smokers in the room BELOW me were puffing away until 2 in the morning. Good value-to-quality ratio. We normally stray in 4-5 star places but for the 2-3 star category this was very clean & comfortable, with free parking, wi-fi, a swimming pool, and sliding glass doors on the ground level which allow you to walk out to it from the back of your room. Twice during my three day stay, my door locked itself form the inside. The latch would swing over when I close the door. The second time the maid did it. Upon entering the lobby, I was greeted at the desk by a very pleasant and professional young woman. So lets say now you will be in good hands thanks to the staff. The only issue I have is that of image. It immediately struck me as I went down the hall to my room, that the hallway seemed very "gloomy," for the lack of a better word and the carpet soiled […] and even worn in a couple of areas.
