"I loved this Hotel"
loved everything about this hotel. I will def stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to downtown Dallas and musical events"
Beautiful hotel in a convenient location. There was a glitch in the Hotels.com reservation coming through but they accommodated me and took care of the problem. The staff is very professional. There is a charge for parking which is not usual in the South. The parking area is under trees and my car was returned with "decorations" from the birds. I was […] disappointed with the room service from their restaurant, the Landmark; we had breakfast and felt it was mediocre. There are a number of restaurants nearby that are great. We arrived around 9:00 pm on April 13th after playing in volleyball tournament all day. We were very tired and just wanted to shower and go to bed. When we walked in the room, we were very pleasantly surprised how nicely decorated they were. The check in process was easy and staff extremely friendly. Only thing I would like (it seems petty but would […] be great) is to have some kind of hook or something to hang your wash rag while you are showering. I don't like to lay it on the baththub. I know sounds crazy, but I am an infection prevention nurse, and I go overboard sometime, lol. Wonderful hotel, excellent stay! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
I wish I had only booked this hotel first. If you are staying in the area I would suggest this hotel over the Anatole and Renaissance. Excellent service, great food choices, very friendly staff, great rooms: comfortable bed, great water pressure. I'll be backGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Eveyone from Valet to Front Desk to Cleaning Crew, all very nice and rooms were big and clean.Genuine Expedia guest review
"beautiful old hotel in historic district"
Beautiful old hotel --Great comfortable stay - staff friendly and helpful! Loved that we were given a ride to the Dallas Country Club for our event. So nice that we did not to have to drive. Excellent service. Will come back soon and often!!Genuine Expedia guest review
Loved this hotel! My only complaint is that the business center only had one conputer and we were unable to print our boarding passes. We would defintiely stay there again!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Let me park my own car on site!"
The hotel was showing signs of age, which, in itself can be charming. In this instance though, it just appeared to be an old hotel that is desperately trying to remain relevant. The restaurant in the lobby was very good and the service was superb. My main issue with this visit was that I was forced to surrender my car keys to the attendant at the front […] door upon arrival. When I told him that I prefer to park my own car in their parking facilities, I was told that I was required to allow the valet to park my car or I was welcome to park on the street…end of discussion. As a friend of mine had recently had his truck broken into while parked on the side street there, I decided that I had little choice but to surrender my keys. I do not believe that when a guest requests to park their own vehicle in the secure area of the facility that the request should be refused. This may seem rather a small matter to others, however; it is my vehicle and I do not like being told that I cannot have access to it, without asking permission from some twenty-something with a Napoleon complex at a valet stand. I brought the matter to the hotel desk clerk who parroted the valet’s story. As a result, I will not be staying at this hotel in the future, nor will I recommend it to my friends. OK stay, believe hotel needs some updating for its 4-star rating. The bath tub needs replacing and there should be no even hint of mold!! The breakfast service in The Landmark, was below standard. We were seated, had to wave someone down for coffee. Women waitress pushed breakfast buffet when our party of two only wanted oatmeal, some fruit and a bagel. […] When we were finally served, oatmeal was luke-warm. I am glad we didn't waste our time going there for dinner! The best part of the hotel service were the valet attendees. They were extremely curteous and helpful! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
This is a very lovely hotel that has been around for a long time. The rooms are comfortable. This is one of the few places who boast ceiling fans in every room! They have a comfortable lounge downstairs as well as a restaurant. I gave it lower marks for the condition of the room because our toilet ran on and off all night. My only major complaint was […] the 9.95/night charge for internet...really? Most places offer it for free these days. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Beautiful, Historic hotel"
This is great place to stay if you want the convenience of being close to downtown but not quite IN downtown. I love this historic hotel and they have preserved much of the architectural beauty of the past. Great restaurants within walking distance. Hotel staff was friendly and accommodating. My ONLY complaint is the $26 per day (overnight) valet parking […] fee. I could not find any "self parking" other than on the adjoining street and there were VERY FEW spaces available. The $26 per day fee is an open parking lot -- not even covered. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Wouldn't suggest a stay with kids"
The cold distant attitude from various personnel from the front desk staff to the wait people in the bar is not what one would expect in a hotel of this caliber. Additionally it is noisy in the am due to the fact it is on a busy street....so essentially no matter where your room is, your destined to be awoken by noise. The business room has only one […] computer, carpeting is soiled, no pens or anything to write on....so I would suggest come prepared. I booked through Expedia whom I have had many pleasant experiences with and when I arrived with my 17 yo son...as we were touring SMU, we were told 'too bad but because others arrived before you and because you booked through Expedia and not directly with the hotel, we offered your room with 2 doubles to someone who checked in earlier......even though I had contacted the hotel earlier that afternoon confirming our arrival and even though I had specifically requested the 2 double beds explaining our situation. I wasn't offered anything in exchange such as free wifi - literally 'sorry too bad' attitude. In the restaurant/bar area we requested a regular dinner menu, but 30 minutes later it still wasn't delivered so we walked a few blocks away to Pappadeaux's .....I would never return and sorry I visited for one night. "great for girls night out!"
we had a girls night out and loved our room at the Warwick Melrose! It was very spacious and divided into an entryway, sleeping area, changing area, and a huge bathroom. It felt like I was staying in a posh home, not a hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
"very good and cozy hotel"
This is a nice hotel with excellent facilities, restaurant, bar lounge etc. It is however 10 min driving from the city center. There is some noise from the street so during the night it was not very quite.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Classic Historical Hotel"
This classic Historical Downtown property is just lovely. I am a business traveler and look for places like the Warwick Melrose in Dallas. This hotel is just minutes from the downtown but you get the feeling of country home style that Dallas is famous for. Enjoyed my stay and the staff was very accommodating. The Library Lounge is elegant and old money, […] loved it!!! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Fantastic! Just fantastic! Staff was so nice and helpful! I would go here again any day.Genuine Expedia guest review
Very enjoyable stay and will return soon.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The restaurant is excellent. The bar is excellent. The bathrooms are not the greatest. But overall it's a super hotel. I just wish the valet was not so expensive.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Our stay was wonderful. The front desk staff handled a lost reservation wonderfully in spite of a busy wedding party in process. Only two complaints: (1) limited bell staff service (one person for entire hotel when we were there); and (2) our bathroom was very small. This is a stately old hotel that is well kept, so the small bathroom is a minor inconvenience. […] We would go back! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Comfortable stay on a busy weekend."
The Warwick Melrose is so easy to access from interstates converging in downtown Dallas: follow the Oak Lawn exit to a lovely neighborhood. Hotel parking was quite convenient and run efficiently. Despite two weddings and many happy clients, we rested well in a comfortable and elegant room.Genuine Expedia guest review
"NIce older hotel."
Stayed on a Sunday evening. Restaurant, which was reported to be good by friends and family, was closed. Lobby area looked old. Room was good. Only negative comment on the room is wash cloths are paper thin and should be replaced. Hotel staff was very friendly and a great help.Genuine Expedia guest review
"It was OK"
The hotel was OK, it was a bit stuffy. The view was right up oak lawn, easy to get to Eatzis and the shower was hot. But other than that, it was nothing special.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great area, great staff, very helpful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"WIFI is the problem!"
Nice place BUT It's been a long time since any 3+ star's hotel charged me for WIFI. Here they charged $9. for basic (narrow) which was not enough to open my attachments, etc. You could upgrade to $17./day. The lobby area was the only free WIFI but it's only basic level. Um not good. I am sorry, but we live in a digital world and its old school for […] hotels to charge for a basic amenities such as WIFI. I will have to stay at a place that knows it's as fundamental as shampoo for traveler's. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

I love staying in older historical hotels and I was not disappointed. The lobby is beautiful and our room was very nice and the bathroom was spacious. The lounge, The Library, is one of my favorite hotel bars with the added bonus of live piano music. The bar appears to be a very popular destination. I will return when visiting Dallas. "Charge for mini bar"
I didn't even know the mini bar existed and I was charged 137.00. My room adjoined the bridal room which had no lock. I came back from having dinner and the door was wide open. Thankfully nothing was missing.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great stuff very comfortable and clean rooms ."
It was a very pleasant stay. Great restaurant and room service menu. The lobby bar has some famous jazz performers playing in a weekend.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Decent - but needs updating"
It's clear that they freshened up the lobby and common areas, but the room I had looked exactly the same as it did 15 years ago when I first came here. The room looks very dated and tired, even the hallways smell musty. Good service, nice common areas, and conveniently located.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great ambience, old world classic service, music and fun in The Library unique and wonderful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
the hotel has an active bar and a generous size lounge and is planning on expansion in the backGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Historic building, not your cookie-cutter chain"
Very nice place, with very good service and friendly staff. And excellent Tex-Mex available right across the street. Not inexpensive, however, and there's extra charges for wifi and parking.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel bed was very comfortable and room seemed very clean the area around the hotel is not bad either good stay for decent priceGenuine Expedia guest review

"Nice Night at Melrose"
Love the charm of Hotel and the cozy Library Bar with the Piano Player. Room was very spacious and well appointed.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Had to stay there to take my exam."
So the only thing that you are not going to pay for is breathing the air. Parking is 25$ a night. It looks old but clean. Breakfast is mediocre at best, both menu and continental breakfast (not included in the stay price). I had to stay there to take an exam, otherwise I would not stay there.Genuine Expedia guest review
The make up mirror was loose. The maid had unplugged the cable for the TV so we thought it wasn't working. Very quiet hotel. Nice and clean.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Reservation and confirmation thru Expedia- No room"
Booked a room thru Expedia. Arrived at hotel and informed that they were overbooked. They moved me to The Magnolia downtown. This was a definate downgrade from what I paid for and much further from my evening venue. I called to complain that they charged my card $286 for a room and put me in a $100 room downtown. Finally, the accounting office credited […] me $120 for my trouble. The biggest problem is the movement to a sub-par hotel. I will never stay at The Melrose again. "Always a great hotel"
Only issue with this hotel is it is by a fire station, so the sirens can wake you up at night. Otherwise, I always enjoy staying here.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice restored grand hotel"
An repression should not cort $5. This is price gouging. I have migraine headaches and usually need four yo knock it out. This would have Carr me $19. This is ridiculous.Genuine Expedia guest review
