"A Fun Anniversary"
My wife and I stayed at the Warwick for our wedding anniversary and found the experience delightful. The food we ordered from room service knocked our socks off. The woman working the desk when we checked in was a little standoffish, but the rest of the staff made up for it. Also, the bed was absurdly comfortable.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great old building"
Bar was crowded and loud. Heat in room wasn't controllable, but the hotel was beautiful and the staff were friendly. Parking costs are outrageous for Dallas, but the parking attendants were friendly and competent.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I enjoyed the stay. The room was very large and exquisite. This was a great value.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice Rooms, Service Ok, not the best!"
The rooms are always roomy, Older bathrooms, small showers/bathtubs. Security team on the premises are rude! Parking is expensive, expensive internet. Movies are expensive, cant pause them either.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"High class in uptown"
Great location. A couple of blocks from excellent restaurants. Nice old building that has alot of style. Staff is friendly and QUICK.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Needs a facelift"
Stayed at the Warwick Melrose a few years back and enjoyed. They need to update the hotel as the fixtures in the bathroom seemed old and broken. Don't be fooled by the lovely lobby. The rooms aren't near that nice. Had an issue with housekeeping who didn't clean my room one day. Overall, not impressed.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"The Warwick - Melrose Hotel Rating"
The hotel is over priced for the amenities offered. Additionally, it is ridiculous to charge $25 per night for valet parking and require it. This should be built into the overall price of the hotel. Considering the price versus amenities, I think I'll find a better hotel on my next trip to Dallas.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Perfect New Year"

"Lovely stay in a great part of Dallas!"
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Melrose. The room was spacious and comfortable, The Library was quaint and relaxing, and the service we received was prompt and courteous. Loved it.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Usually, in my reviews, Its the hotel thats the issue, if there is an issue. Its more often about function, or amenities, rarely is it about staff. However in the case of the Warwick Montrose.. my gripe is 100% with staff. My car was lost, and I was given the key to someone else's car. The check in staff were solum and unfriendly and one actually wanted […] to argue that Fiji was in the Caribbean ( its 7,065 miles from Fiji to St Bart's). The in-room dinning person tried to talk me out of an additional order, because, from what I could tell, he didn't want to make a second trip. I LOVE THIS HOTEL, i have a great history with it, I love its location, its architecture, and its history. But if they don't work on the dire state of their staff... Its gonna fail once again. AND I WANT IT TO SUCCEED !!! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Beautiful hotel, watch out for extra charges"
This is a beautiful hotel in a very nice area of Dallas. We got a great rate booking at the last minute and generally enjoyed our stay. The only issue was that this is definitely the kind of hotel where they're trying to take advantage of every possible way to make some extra money. The parking is valet only (despite the fact that they have a large […] lot and there seems to be ample street parking) and costs $25.98 a night. Internet is $15-18 (can't remember the exact amount) for 24 hours. The mini-bar items are prominently displayed in the room along with their exorbitant prices ($7 for a bottle of Fiji). Despite all this, we would definitely stay there again as the rooms are spacious and well decorated, the service was excellent, the neighborhood is lovely, and if you can avoid the extra charges then it's actually a pretty good deal. "Another Wonderful Stay!"
In town for the weekend and have stayed at the Warwick Melrose in the past. Such a beautiful historic Dallas landmark. Easy check-in, professional staff and I really loved my room this time. (King bed on the 8th floor)...had a very comfortable bed and bedding with a nice sitting area, desk, a large well appointed bath a nice view from the top floor. […] Room service was prompt and courteous and the common areas of the hotel were very well kept. The bar was hopping both nights...great piano player! We hosted a brunch at the hotel on Sunday which was wonderful. The only downside is the seemingly constant wail of police sirens and fire trucks...must be a sub station close by. The hotel is convenient to all of Dallas and close to great restaurants and shopping. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great hotel for the price, neat bar"
Very nice, clean hotel. Great room and bathroom size. They have a great bar in the hotel called "The Library." They usually have a musician playing and its a neat/chill vibe. There is a restaurant withing walking distance that is called Steel. They have sushi and also other items like Filet/Fish. As always, I enjoy the location of the Melrose and its proximaty to shopping, food, nightlife. However I was very disappointed this trip when I was placed in a room on the 2nd floor along Oak Lawn. It was unbelievable noisy and I was unable to sleep. It was clear by the 13 cars in the parking lot that the hotel was not at capacity however when I called […] the front desk to request a move I was told there was only 1 other room available on the same side of the building. There is no way that could have been the case on Monday night 11/26/12. I was very disappointed.. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great location, great staff"
We had a huge room, nicely updated while maintaining historic feel. Staff was very friendly, helpful and responsive. Lobby and bar are beautiful! Very convenient to all the restaurants, shopping and clubs of the Uptown district but far enough away to be quiet at night. All in all a great choice.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

The Warwick is a very charming hotel. Enjoyed It!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The Warwick Melrose differentiates itself from other upscale hotels in that it has something most others don't...history. We felt that as we walked into the hotel with the ornate carved wood marble topped furniture and marble flooring. The lobby showcases the intricate moldwork and ceiling. The rooms were designed in what I would call "subdued elegance". […] The staff was efficient and accommodating. Would definately recommend it. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Neighborhood gem, close to everything!"
The Warwick looks to have had a fresh facelift! The rooms are comfortable, and beautiful, like staying at home rather than a "stark hotel". Very nice! Neighborhood gem, I will be back!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Go to hotel for Dallas business trips"
The only reason I put a few lower scores was because there was a non stick pad in the bath tub that was started to unattach and it was sort of gross but that would be an easy fix if they just glue it back down. I had a billing issue with the mini bar as well. Aside from that, this is always a great hotel, nice staff and great location.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Smaller, more intimate than the big "chains.""
We've stayed at the Warwick Melrose many times and look forward to the next time. Very friendly staff, rooms are large, luxurious and clean. Located convenient to many sites that we love to visit. Valets are helpful with directions and recommendations.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Housekeeping needs better supervision"
The first impression was excellent, very good front desk service. When the elevator opened to take us to our room it was "yuck"! The metal floor under the door was very dirty. I could remove the dust/dirt simply by rubbing my foot over it. That never changed in the 4 nites we were there. At checkout there was a $24 parking charge, we didn't have a car! […] This was a prepaid reservation on Hotels.com. There was a water glass with fluid in it on the floor near our room and it was when we checked in and when we went out the next morning, even though a room cleaning person was just one door away. All in all I would stay there again, just asking the management to upgrade the quality of their cleaning staff. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Melrose Hotel in Dallas, Texas"
The Melrose is an old hotel in Dallas now owned by the Warwick company. I've known about it for years--I lived in Dallas from 1980-2008--and had visiting friends stay in it once around 1999 or 2000. They liked it very much. Before my recent trip to Dallas (7/17-7/20/2012) I checked online reviews of the Melrose, which were all good, and I also asked […] an old and dear friend to recommend a place for me to stay. He recommended the Melrose, and friends who visit him fairly frequently stay there and like it a lot. The hotel itself is fine, including the Landmark restaurant in the hotel, although I only had breakfast there. My only complaint is this: guests have to pay $24 plus tax per day to park at the hotel. I have never in my life paid to park in a hotel parking lot, not in Chapel Hill, NC, nor in upstate New York, nor anywhere else. Ever. I think asking hotel guests to pay for parking is a mistake, probably made by Warwick upper management in some faraway place, not untypical for execs. of corporations, who are disconnected from the point of contact between their business and the people it serves. The hotel and its on-site staff were just fine. I'll stay there again if I need to, although I usually stay with old friends when I go to Dallas. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
the hotel was immaculate, the foyer was nice and the hotel room itself was even better. the hotel is in a convenient area and moderately priced considering the quality of room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The place was immaculate and the staff were outstanding. The room service was quick and delicious. We had a slight hiccup with the bread that came and the management wiped the entire room service bill in an effort to make up for the shortcoming.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Both the service and property of the Melrose cannot be beat......a beautiful hotel with service to compare....convenient location to several watering holes and eateries!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This is a very nice hotel with a great bar and restaurant. The only issue I had was the water was running in the tub and would not shut off completely. Aside from that everything was great.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great (repeat) Stay!"
This was our 2d stay at the Warwick Melrose. We enjoy the comfort of the rooms, the restaurant, and they have the BEST bar! Delightful!Genuine Expedia guest review
The only complaint that I would have about this hotel is you must valet your car. That adds to the price of the room by quite a bit. Beautiful hotel and I enjoyed staying there.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice room, decent price, but lacks service"
Hotel is a partially refurbished Dallas landmark. I stayed in a "Deluxe Room" and was pleased with the overall size of the room, however the bathrooms are very small considering the age of the original construction. Women would hate the bathroom since there was only a pedestal sink with no room to set makeup, hair dryer, etc. Hotel seemed very understaffed […] and experience long line at reception. Aside from a tiny fitness center in the basement of the hotel, there were really no services consistent with a larger hotel. Not an ideal hotel for a business traveler, but overall a nice experience. "A Classic Hotel..."
Classic does not always been 'well preserved! The hotel is charming and very traditional and so very well located. As with any older property, maintenance needs to be more regular and frequent, as the plumbing in thermometers was rather atrocious. "Go if you have a certain taste"
Air conditioner made a loud noise, room service has a 3 dollar service charge for anything and in addition has an included 20% gratuity. In general it is a "pay for everything" hotel. Have to pay for even the internet in the so-called "business center". There are no computers in the lobby with free internet like almost every other hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
"A great stay thanks to great staff."
I came to the Warwick Melrose to sit for a board certification exam--one of the more stressful reasons for a road trip I can think of. From start to finish, the staff at the Warwick Melrose were top-notch--helpful, accomodating, informative, and clearly out to ensure that my stressful stay was as relaxing as possible. In-room dining was very good, the […] restaurant and bar in the lobby were excellent, and the entire experience was worthy of a hotel costing much, much more. "Way overpriced, awful experience"
To put it simply, it was a nightmare. I spend a lot of money booking this for my sister's bachelorette party lingerie shower and for a few girls to stay over after dinner/drinks. It would be easier for me to actually list the myriad things that went wrong at this hotel. 1. Miguel at front desk: I called at 3 p.m. day of my stay to get my room number. […] Miguel put me on hold four times, rudely, before telling me they would assign me a room number when I paid. I had paid two months earlier via Expedia. 2. Tried to give me wrong room: Miguel, once again, also told me I had a king room when I actually booked a deluxe suite. When I told him that, he was again rude and argumentative and claimed Expedia had told them I booked a king. Luckily, Expedia came through, per usual, and handled it - it was, as expected, a mistake on the hotel's end. 3. Lied about valet costs: Inititally told me it was complimentary, then that it was $6 for overnight and $12 for short-term guests, then, when I checked in, Miguel (of course) told me it was actually $12 for short-term and $24 for overnight, and denied telling me differently just three hours earlier. 4. Said they would reserve a shuttle for us to go to dinner, and when I called to get it, they said it was tied up for 45 minutes. 5. Told me they would give us cots until we called for them, when they said it was a "fire hazard.: In the largest room in the hotel. ...? Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"The quality of the service"
First off, this is a beautiful hotel, and the hotel.com price was great. We had a lovely two bedroom suite that was furnished very nicely. No complaints. The valet parkers and the staff in the Library Bar are excellent. One struggles to find the right definition for the cleaning staff--perhaps passive-aggressive comes to mind for reasons I will not […] extrapolate on except to say I had to leave notes on items it is obvious that we had paid for and wanted to remain in the room. Very strange, but overall a great value. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
