We discovered on our last night we didn't need jackets or an umbrella to get to Bentley's on the 27th Floor of a neighboring building a block and a half away. The centrally located Omni Hotel has bridges linking it to multiple blocks. It's just across the street from the Bank of America Corporate Center with shops and restaurants and is linked by covered glass bridges over the streets to the popular EpiCenter snd Charlotte Plaza. It is connected at the hip to the BofA Plaza, and you can walk to the North Carolina Performing Arts Center from the BofA Corporate Center Plaza—all without getting your shoes wet. The Omni's small horshoe lobby bar is popular with the locals and has a friendly staff of bartenders who pour a good drink at a fair price. We highly recommend a stop here before taking the elevator to your room. Ours wasn't a suite, but the bed is very comfortable and the side chair along side. Free wireless in the room, but I had to ask for an old fashioned pen and paper to write down phone numbers. I'm sure housekeeping can cure this oversight.

Stayed one-night, Friday, on a holiday weekend. Stated check-in time is 3pm, but we were able to check-in before 11am. Front-desk personnel were genuinely helpful. They provided us with maps and verbal directions and some suggestions as to where to go and what to do. Hotel is an older building but the rooms were modern, beautifully decorated and quite clean. There is a parking garage just beneath the hotel. The discounted hotel parking rate was a real bargain.

Exceptionally clean and professional. Bathrooms in all the hotel lobbies were cleaned every 3 hrs. Conference was well attended to by hotel staff, courteous, friendly and happy to help. Room with a king bed was smaller than expected but we paid are reduced price so we're not complaining, just making a note. Terrific location with lots of shops, restaurants, clubs and recreational walking. Street and Square singers, entertainers were great. One jazz saxaphone player was fabulous and we could hear the music float up to our room. Great romantic escape and great working location for everyone.

After driving through a storm, we arrived at the hotel barely in time to change and drive to a nearby wedding ceremony. The hotel staff was very helpful in expediting our parking and in assigning a room on the 12th floor compatible with our request for quiet. The room was very comfortable, especially the bed, and indeed quiet; the bathroom was small but adequate. The location is very convenient to nighttime and pro sports activities. Jason's nearby was good for early Sunday breakfast. The hotel price was reasonable through Hotels.com. We will return.

All the hotel staff we encountered went out of their way to accomodate us. We were able to check into our room much earlier than check in time. We had an issue with some other customers making noise in the middle of the night. Security came up as soon as we reported it. The next morning we were all given a free breakfast for our inconvenience of the noisy neighbors! The location is fantastic. Within walking distance of everything uptown. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The parking staff was extremely helpful to us, ensuring that our truck and flat-trailer were safely parked for the weekend we were there for a convention. We were concerned because of the city layout with a compact entry area into the parking deck that there would be trouble but everything went smoothly. They were extremely friendly and welcoming. The location was only a couple of blocks away from the convention center and there were several choices for restaurants in the area (not so many choices for breakfast though). I would recommend Ri Ra for GREAT food in a classsy pub setting.

While the room was beautiful and the beds comfortable, I had to settle for a lukewarm shower and was disappointed that the high price of the room covered nothing extra. That said, the location was perfect for the event I was attending. I just wish I had gotten more bang for my bucks.

I usually stay at cheap hotels because that's what my budget allows. This being a special weekend, I decided to splurge and go to Omni. The difference - $65 I didn't need to spend. Both types of hotels are comprapal in cleanliness and service (although the cheap hotels don't lock you out at 6:45). But more importantly the bed at the Omni was as hard as a rock! The most important part of a hotel stay is how well you can sleep. Waking up sore and stiff is not my idea of a good night's sleep. I will never stay at an Omni again.
