"BY THE BUS STATIONS"
Right by the bus station ! If you dont have a car, it helps a lot. It was great to commute to Marin Center.Genuine Expedia guest review
"keep your expectations low"
Don't expect anything great. It's outdated and doesn't impress, but they provide a room, cable, and certain amenities as advertised. The pictures make it seem nicer than it really is, but it did the job.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Fair rates for a stay in Novato"
The building is a bit worn, but the room was very clean and comfortable. It's about a 10 minute walk to downtown which was nice to avoid driving all the time.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Ok in a pinch"
This was the only motel available near my daughter's wedding shower venue, due to the events of fleet week and baseball/football games in San Francisco. It was OK but I would not have stayed there under other circumstances.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Definetly not a value"
Our reservation was for a King Bed. When we got to the room it wasn't a king and when we asked, were told Kings were only in suites which are much more expensive. The room floors were dirty in the corners and the bed sheets stained. The continental breakfast was muffins, which everyone had to reach into the container with their hands and two types of […] stale cereal. No fruit. One positive is the staff person was very nice. Will never stay at this hotel again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Breakfast, cold cereal, not even packets of oatmeal, some 1/2 muffins, tiny cups for diluted OJ or coffee, tea. Supposed to have WiFi for computer, but didn't receive in room, can sit in front of small lobby and use that, Didn't expect much, and didn't get much.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Way too expensive for a roadside motel that is decades past it's prime. Musty, dingy, noisy, and dilapidated. if it had been half the price I would have given it another star for convenience & for not being actually dangerous (I assume), but this is a cut-rate motel that should have a price to match. Only adequate if there's really no other choice.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"worst place ever"
it was the word place i have stayed in a long long long time.. its smelled it was dirty and if I were you i would take it off your site... DHGenuine Hotels.com guest review
My no-smoking room had an ash try in it and burns on the bedspread. Smelled like cigarettes. Hotel staff was not helpful. Avoid this place, even if you are a smoker.Genuine Expedia guest review
"adequate for the area."
No complaints.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The rooms are ok, but the location and look of the hotel from the outside is scary, looks seedy. It's right next to a gravel pit.Genuine Expedia guest review
"close to freeway"
okGenuine Hotels.com guest review
First room we got smelled like cigarettes (non-smoking room). Transferred to another room- was better but by no means good. Hotel is well worn, staff is courteous but not very helpful when looking for a place for dinner.Genuine Expedia guest review
The room was large, clean and well maintained, and the hotel is well located near to the freeway (but there wasn't too much traffic noise). I had a terrible nights sleep as the child in the room next door screamed ALL night (be aware, the walls are paper thin) but I didn't speak to reception so not sure how they would have handled it.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"gutes Hotel für die Durchreise"
Das Hotelpersonal war freundlich, Zimmer war sauber und sehr geräumig. Leider liegt es zwischen zwei Straßen, aber für die Durchreise sehr gut geeignet und nicht störend laut.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

tons of flies in our room. I booked this place because I needed a cheap place between norcal and SF and this served its purpose. When I walked in there was some lady destroying the poor guy behind the desk about rates going up $4 on a weekend or something absolutely ridiculous. Felt bad for him so I probably overlooked how gross the check in area was. Asked me if I could pay in cash instead of a card- but I'd reserved it online so I don't know why he was asking me to pay again. got up to the room, up a ton of flights of stairs, and the room was super hot. TVs are usually centered with the bed and it was a good ten feet to the left of the bed. Didn't feel too clean, there were a bajillion flies over by the big window overlooking the pool, which I didn't even bother opening because there were a bunch of kids out there screaming. Pretty sure they charge a deposit for using the pool too, don't know what it was all about- just remember seeing it on one of the room guides inside the room itself. Probably won't repeat only because I don't plan on being back there anytime soon and if I will- it'll be in downtown San Francisco.
"Don't Stay Here"

My husband and I traveled from Gold Beach, Oregon to Novato, Calif for a family reunion. I called and made reservations from the 30th of July to the 5th of August. I asked for a street level room as my husband is disabled, a smoking room with 2 beds and we have 2 small dogs. I was assured everything would be waiting for us. Three days before we left home, I called again, went over all that we needed and was again assured it was all taken care of...NOT. When we arrived, we were checked in for 3 days. Had to explain everything to the desk clerk and he said he would take care of it, thought the "5th" was the "2nd." Then the room was upstairs, thank goodness they had an elevator. THEN the room was non smoking. We are not complainers and made the best of it. On the 4th, we left early to visit family before we left the next day. Got back to the motel at 10pm. My key didn't work so I went downstairs, only to be told we had checked out that day. Huh? Why would we check out and leave all our luggage in the room. Was told it was out of the room and they were holding it for us. OMG!!! After a few choice words on my part, we packed our car at 10:30pm. Thank goodness for ONStar. They found us a wonderful room down the street at a Days Inn. Everything we wanted, much larger and cleaner. We went through our luggage and found quite a few items not only missing, but 2 cell phones that did not belong to us. We returned to the motel the next morning, where the manager would not come deal with the problem. The desk clerk finally got our items, we returned the cell phones to them, and left. DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU WANT TO GET KICKED OUT OF YOUR ROOM!!!
"Room was clean but that's about it."
08/03/14 sidewallcindy Hayward, CA
The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The gal at the front desk was friendly enough. Stay here because we had a wedding in Novato. One night is enough. I got the discount card so the room was reasonably priced.
"Dirty, and flies all over the room."
08/02/14 jjm31 San Francisco, California
Oh man, I've stayed here plenty of times, and never had this problem until this last time. First of all, I'm a value card member, and I asked for the room upgrade and when I got there, the front desk clerk said no one told him anything and just handed me the key. Then, there were about 5 men drinking alcohol in broad daylight on the back of a pick-up truck, and there was a man smoking weed in plain sight. We got our first room and it was VERY nicely decorated- had new furniture, nice appliances, the works! BUT it had a HEAVY weed smell - turns out the guy smoking weed was in the room above that one and maybe the vents are connected because the windows weren't open. We had a kid with us so there was NO WAY we were going to stay in that room. I went to tell the clerk and they transferred us to two rooms down the hall and this room was even worse! It had all old furniture, it was dark - the lights weren't working properly, and worst of all THERE WERE FLIES ALL OVER THE ROOM. At first, we didn't notice them because we came in during the day time, but once it was nighttime and we were all settled in and turned on the lights, the flies came out! The next day we all had red spots all over us, and they didn't do anything about it because all of the rooms were sold out! Oh my goodness, I felt so sad and embarrassed for making my family stay there.

We enjoyed our short stay in Novato, California. The room was reasonably priced. There is in room coffee and continental breakfast. It was surprisingly very quiet for being next yp a freeway. The room was clean and we got to bring our dog.
"Not a good hotel"
05/15/14 AdamHClark Novato, California
This is not a good place to stay. internet doesn't work, the "breakfast" is a joke, the bed was harder than rocks, the tv reception and picture quality was terrible (most channels aren't watchable). They use paper for everything (seriously). Half the people at the hotel seem to be residents and people violate the no smoking signs everywhere, including in the elevator. The elevator had an expired permit and was shut down half way through my stay. Electric outlets are a hazard. Just not a nice place to stay.
"Basic, but works for 1 night"
05/05/14 lonetraveler7 Salinas, California
Walls are paper thin, hair all over the bathroom. It looked like someone wiped their greasy finger right on one of the wash rags and there was blood on one of the towels!!! Pretty creepy really. I come to this area often, and have stayed before. I put myself through it because its one of the only affordable places in the San Rafael areas. This was the worst time. The bed also smelled like it had been peed in. If you can afford a better place, take it!!! You won't appreciate this one.
"What a rip off. Lousy hotel, shabby, charged us double"
10/30/13 patbrogan san jose
We had a room reserved online and needed to have two beds. They doubled our price--charing another $60 for the second bed, $40 over their published price. The teenager working there was useless and this was our only option since we had prepaid for the one bed. Wallpaper was falling off, bathroom tile disgusting and the key didn't work. The hotel is very noisy with 101 on one side and another noisy street on the other.
"Very basic, clean but dingy, no fitness room"
09/27/13 albwilson Brookings, Oregon
The room was clean and comfortable but it is dark and dingy. The breakfast is mediocre: milk and cereal, juice and coffee and sweet rolls. The dining area is like eating in a cave. The parking lot is narrow so when the hotel is full it can be hard to maneuver. The hotel is right off of 101 so it is easy to find.
"If this is America's "Best Value" this chain better get it's act together!"

We stayed at this motel in Novato because there was nothing else available under $200 for the weekend. I had requested a rollaway bed in advance, when we got there the man at front desk said there weren't any available, then he checks in the back and found one. When he brought it up to the room, he left it and said "I don't know where you're going to put it" what an attitude! We unfolded it in the corner by the air conditioner (the only space for it) and the mattress was paper thin, the springs were poking through it! The next day we asked for another rollaway and this time the lady at front desk said "oh yeah, that's an old one it has to get thrown out". The wallpaper in the bathroom is peeling off (who puts wallpaper in a bathroom?), the TV is supposed to have cable and HBO, but the channels were limited and it's not a digital TV. I took our dog for a walk behind the motel, there's a little grass area and I see a truck parked at the far end of the parking lot, on my way back to the room I see another car parked alongside the truck, they're doing a drug deal! A few minutes later after the druggies left the Sheriff is parked in the lot, where was she when the drug deal was going on?! The next morning there's a camper van parked outside with a sleeping bag & trash on the ground, the police show up again! Yes, there are homeless or low income families living here, maybe that's why it gets the name "America's Best Value" Inn. I wouldn't recommend staying here, now I know why there were rooms available, everywhere else at a reasonable price was sold out for the weekend, the Sonoma races were on. If you're staying more than 1 night, I would stay away from this place. We won't be going back!
