"Very comfortable and great breakfast!"
We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our stay. Our children loved the pool and patio. The breakfast was spectacularly stocked with delicious food.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The stay was pleasant after we got the TV working. The first night we had no remote control. We had to get one at the front desk. Then we had to have someone show us how to use the Direct TV. The bathroom linens were very skimpy. No lotion was provided. The beds were comfortable, but not much room for chairs. We did not have breakfast at the hotel, […] so we cannot say if it was good. "A great night's sleep!"
We stayed in this hotel to pick up my daughter returning from deployment in Afghanistan. The only requirement she had was a comfortable bed. The beds were very comfortable. They give you lots of pillows too. It was very quiet also. The only draw back was the washbasin area. It was so small three of us girls couldn't put out our stuff. If you want to […] swim, the pool is very small. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
It was very comfortable. The staff were all very friendly. The only problem we had was a musty smelling air conditioner and the front desk sent for maintenance and they were knocking within 5min. They took it out and cleaned it while were away that morning and it took care if the smell. I'd definitely stay again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Clean, good hotel for Families"
The hotel is clean and well maintained just as most Fairfield Inns are. Pretty standard fare. It was little bit difficult to find a decent restaurant nearby.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Not very handicapped accessible"
We stayed at this hotel in a room with handciapped accessible bathroom for my sister in law, whom is in a wheelchair. The room only offers a king size bed. We really needed 2 queens, but ended up with a roll away bed at no cost. The bathroom was really bare bones. Don't recommend it to anyone who needs counterspace. Almost like a convenience store bathroom […] with a roll in shower. The room wasn't as clean as expected. The mirror had fingerprints all over it from a previous guest. The continental breakfast was so so, not very many choices to pick from. However, the location was nice, since it was close to shopping mall and movie theaters and restaurants. I suggest you pick a Hilton, Hyatt or Radisson for better handicapped accessible bathrooms. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Comfortable and Clean"
The room was exactly how it was supposed to be. The beds were so soft and the pillows were amazing. The breakfast was really good. However the room for the breakfast is really small and the place was packed. It also seemed that the young girl was having a hard time keeping up with all the demands of the patrons. Plan on a little bit of a wait for the […] waffles, that line was long. Overall the stay was very good. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Will stay again!"
The room was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the pool (small, but big enough for the kids to have a great time). The continental breakfast had good variety and was kept well-stocked. The staff was friendly and helpful -- overall, a good experience.Genuine Expedia guest review
Hotel was great.. only downside was... on the west side of hotel wing.. interstate side. could hear traffic all nite long. other than that great. jus traffic noise..Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Frist thing when I got my room was a trip to the front desk to get the burned out lights replaced. Second trip was to get items housekeeping didn't leave. Third trip was for coffee to refill the single cup pot in the room. Also repeated trips to get room key reactivated and then to get door open when lock failed. Took clerk 20 min to get door open. "Fairfield Inn, Layton Ut"
All but one point was good. The walls must not be insulated for noise. We could here conversations, coughing, etc. let alone the crying and swearing. It was really bad. The staff was great to help my daughter get some food that she needed with taking a pill. Very accomodating!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"great for the price"
The room was clean and quiet. The A/C worked great. There was excellent water pressure, good parking, lots of restaurants and shopping nearby. The bed was more firm than my own but there were a variety of pillows to pick from. For the money, this was a very nice place. Breakfast was also good.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
the hotel was under renovations and was in poor condition from the time we checked in until we left!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Fairfield Inn by Marriott Salt Lake City Layton Ron, We do apologize for the inconveniences experienced during our hotel renovations. "Walking distance to several good restaurants."
The hotel is situated in an area of shopping and good restaurants. Many are a short walk from the hotel. I will make the Fairfield Inn at Layton a regular stop when travelling to the Salt Lake City area.

"Hotel Undergoing Renos; Hotel lost my booking-tried to move me to another Hotel at my expense!"
My family and I, recently stayed in room 227 of the Marriot Fairfield Inn in Layton, Utah on Feb 2014. And due to my previous experiences having found bedbugs in a newer hotel a few years back, I routinely try and perform a very thorough check for room cleanliness and evidence of bedbugs before staying in any room. The bedbug search procedures I try to follow were recommended from my workplace by watching YouTube videos on Molecular Biologist David Cain, and the following review is how I rated this hotel room after my searching: On a cleanliness scale, I rate this room a 6/10, and I give it a “Medium” bedbug risk rating because the area between behind the mattress and wall was found to be dirty, and because I found minor stains on the bed sheets which I had replaced as a precaution. I found the rooms to be a better size that the Marriot Townsuites I had previously stayed at in Layton, Utah, however the entire hotel is currently undergoing full renovations. Pros: -Bed bug checks turned up negative -Rooms were a decent size -Great value -Breakfast is provided -Customer service desk was very friendly and accommodating Cons: -Hotel is completely under renovations -When I arrived, my hotel booking mysteriously disappeared and I was given a King and pull-out bed room instead of two double beds room as I had booked online -Tub drain was not working properly -Area between mattress and wall was dirty, and has a moderate potential to harbor bed bugs. My overall opinion: Staff seemed very open and accommodating (even though they somehow cancelled my reservation). I also had to call a week later as their system inadvertently charged me $30, however they reversed the charges after bringing it up with them. Even with all the negatives in mind, I would definitely consider staying here again because of the value, the openness to listen on how they can improve their establishment by their staff, and the overall location can't be beaten in Salt Lake City.
"STOLEN WEDDING RINGS!!!"
My husband and I stayed overnight on 8/7 for one night. Thank god only for one night! When we got to the room my husband needed the wifi to work for business. The wifi would not connect and when we asked for assistance from the FD we got a "I don't know what to tell you response". That's was helpful. We then decided to enjoy the pool...no towels were stocked. Ok so we took the last one from the workout room. The chlorine in the hot tub was so strong the smell stayed on us even after a 15 minute shower. Uh gross! Then the next morning I go to work and of course no towels and nothing to wipe down the machines. Ok so who cleans the machines? Now breakfast was decent and Katie the breakfast attendant was about the only associate who gave a damn. Went to go back upstairs and as the elevator door opened one of the housekeepers walks out YAWNS IN OUR FACE AND WALKS AWAY! no excuse me or anything! Ok now here is where the real complaint starts. I had my wedding rings and bracelets on the bathroom counter. We leave to load or stuff in the car without checking out bc we weren't ready too. We come back and the room had already been stripped sheets towels everything was gone. Now we are so fed up with this place that we rush out the door to leave and check out. Few hours later I call the resort letting them know my jewelry was still on the counter. The FD attendant said the room is not even clean yet; I'll go check myself for the rings. So about an hour later I get a call from her and she says the housekeeper just cleaned the room and didn't find anything. So I reiterated the fact that they were there. I got a sorry and that's it! Filed a police report and still no rings have shown up. DISHONEST PEOPLE AND ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING HOTEL. By the way I have been in the hotel/hospitality industry for over 10'years...so take these comments seriously!
"Mold for coffee?"
08/12/14 LUV2GO22 CARLSBAD
Went to use the mini coffee maker ....white mold growing out of the water container......filled the water compartment and beyond . Took it to the front desk to show them. When we got home....they charged us for a missing coffee machine from the room ! Unbelievable!
"Nice comfortable stay."

Beds are comfortable, rooms are modern. The flat screen TV had H.D channels to compliment it. The breakfast is excellent with fresh make your own waffles, sausage and scrambled eggs. It is one of the better continental breakfasts you will find at a hotel.
"If you smell bleach in your room while checking in, request another room"
07/07/14 Robert L Huntington Beach, California
I stayed here June 30, 2014. Renovations not yet complete. While checking into my room, there was a strong bleach odor. I thought the room was just sanitized. Trying to sleep, the bedding also had the strong bleach odor. If you smell bleach in the room, ask for another room. I will say the Staff was VERY friendly and kind however, VERY nice. My stay was only one night, I would stay again but if I smell bleach again I will request another room.
"This hotel was a very shady place"
The tub did not drain, room was dusty and dirty. The pool was un-clean with no towels. The staff ignored us, and told us to take the stairs! Our room was next to the freeway and very loud. We stayed 2 nights and left to a hotel next door... I will never stay here again. We travel to Layton twice a year. Not a nice place, too many questionable people in the lobby!
06/13/14 Aneel R Salt Lake City, Utah
Last month I was stayed at the Fairfield in Layton. It was a good experience. The check in was on time and customer service from Azbeen was great. Thank you. Every time me and my wife walked in or out of the hotel, we were greeted with his nice big smile. The room we were given was excellent. Nice big bed with good A/C, strong Wifi, and very clean. Although there was construction in the hotel going on at that time, It didn't bother me too much as the noise level and everything was out of my way. Morning breakfast was great with the breakfast lady flooding food for everyone to have enough. Even we went for late breakfast but there was everything we wanted. I would recommend anyone to stay here if you are traveling via Layton.
"Currently under renovations"
05/24/14 rls241 Harrisburg, Pennsylvania
Although I'm sure the hotel staff is trying to improve, hence the building renovations, but there are things outside of the physical property that should be improved as well. There frequently is not anyone at the front desk. I personally waited around 5 minutes before someone showed up to check me in. I said, "Hello?" into the room behind the front desk and someone (no idea who) answered back, "He'll be back soon, he had to use the bathroom." So I can't help but wonder who is in the room behind the front desk and what are they doing there? I was given a room that apparently was recently renovated however the carpet was shredded and frayed where the carpet meets the tile. The paint job appeared rushed as well and although I could see where the refrigerator was supposed to be, there was in fact no refrigerator. The room did appear clean. The hotel itself in the midst of a major renovation and it shows, from the paint cans and mattresses that reside in the hallways to the unlabeled fitness center room. On the plus the breakfast was adequate and the wi-fi is fast and reliable. I would not recommend staying there until the renovations are complete.
"smelly and loud"
05/23/14 Janice F Idaho Falls, Idaho
Yes, they are renovating . . . it smells of paint, the air is dusty, and workers start at 8 am. Within 10 minutes of walking through the door into the lobby the fire alarm went off-twice. I'd stay somewhere else until sometime in mid-June.
"Being renovated now"
04/18/14 Ryan R Kaysville, Utah
This hotel is nice and convenient as you would expect from the Marriott brand. Has a nice indoor pool and hot tub. Also has a decent free breakfast. All of the rooms are going through a complete renovation now. We stayed in a newly renovated room and it was very nice.
