Westmark - Whitehorse, a Holland America Line Company - Whitehorse

We've stayed here several times in the past, this time we were somewhat disappointed. The bed was as soft as sleeping on plywood. Of the 3 nights that we stayed there our door keys demagnetized 3 times and our door entry lock had to be replaced. Staff is great, the room was clean, but showing it's age.

I booked this hotel through expedia. I was charged for internet when i checked in because they do not cater to all of their guests. I was also charged for using the phone in my room which you have to prepay for and get 20 minute limits. The hotel put us in a pet rom because we travel for our blog TheConstantRambler with our pets, the door was chewed […] up by previous pets and never repaired. For the Yukon and all its logistical challenges, this hotel is as good as it gets. If you're a business traveller who expects the same comfort and conveniences as you do elsewhere in the world, be prepared to be disappointed. This is the Far North. Westmark is a small regional chain, with dependable service, and very friendly and accomodating to tourists […] and business traveller alike. They offer everything you'll need there, and great advice and a nice chat on top. Presumably, you will be travelling to the Yukon to see the magical beauty, and not to spend all day in your hotel room. Even though the amenities are disappointing when you're looking for luxury, everything works, you can connect to the outside world, and the staff will do anything to help you be happy. Whitehorse is a beautiful town, and will have excellent coffee waiting for you down the street. Hot springs are just half an hour away, and you won't be spending your days in the room's bath tub. So for where it is, it's the nicest hotel in town. If you're a Marriott Platinum, you might be disappointed... Read more

This is a nice comfortable hotel. I have to things that could be better. The whole building including our room was too HOT. We opened the window and the thermostate was always turned down. It was still hot even in Yukon in November. The rate was high, but it is the north. They should at least give you a breakfast at that rate. But I would go back to […] stay again. Nice hotel in downtown Whitehorse. Very friendly staff who tried hard to keep us happy. The rate was high ,but is is northrn Canada. The free airport bus was a great convience. We will be back. Too Bad It Does not include a free breakfast.

The Westmark Whitehorse is in a great location. Many shops and restaraunt are conveniently located. The hotels is nice but nothing special. The price is high but not unreasonally so given its location (Whitehorse, YK) where everything is expensive. The would call the price competitive in an over-price remote town. The layout of the hotel can be challenge […] for moving luggage carts since there are many steep ramps. The 2nd floor is on 2 levels with a ramp between them. The front desk and elevators are separated by another ramp. Finally the breakfast buffet is grossly over-priced at nearly $18. Overall, if you need to stay in Whitehorse and don't want the low cost budget hotels, this is good choice. Read more

Centrally located with helpful and energetic staff. Noise transfers from halls and other rooms quite easily and the upper floor common hall and stair spaces needed attention from the vaccuum cleaners. Despite cold outdoor temperature, rooms were warm and comfortable. Mattress was quite stiff but had no trouble sleeping.

This hotel was a huge dissapointment even by northern standards, I didn;t hold them to high expectations but they failed in every way. 16 parking spaces for over 200 rooms, when I asked where to park I was told the street is free until 9:00am, I told them I wasn't leaving at 9:00am and I had a trailer (street parking was all angled) they wished me luck. […] The bathtub had hair in it, when the tour buses came in the hole place was a right off. At 6:00am when the tour left the valets made tremendous amounts of noise shuttling all the luggage to the buses. Just a horrible experience, there are many better and cheaper places to stay in Whitehorse, all of them are better than the Westmark. Read more

Great hotel to stay at in Whitehorse. Within walking distance of everything you need to see and do. We went to the restaurant in the hotel and had excellent service from the bartender and wait staff. Great atmosphere. The hotel was clean and beds were comfy. I recommend it.

オーロラ鑑賞のため当ホテルに５泊しました。ロケーションはダウンタウンの中心部にあって、レストランはじめ、あらゆる店、銀行がすぐ近所にあってとても便利でした。ここは極寒の地ですがホテルの中はとても暖かく、部屋も清潔で快適に過ごすことができましたし、フロントスタッフはいずれも大変親切でフレンドリー、かつてきぱきした対応で大変好感が持てました。またロビーにはＰＣが設置されていていつでも利用できましたし、天気予報やオーロラ予報が常にＴＶで放送されていて助かりました。また、ホテルと空港間は無料のシャトルバスサービルがありとても助かりました。そして、１区画歩くとユーコン川があり、この川沿いの公園・空き地からオーロラを見ることができました。

ホワイトホース中心部にあり、アクセス抜群です。部屋も広く、清潔です。一つの難点は、部屋に冷蔵庫がないことです。また、周りの駐車スペースは自由に使用できるようです。ホテルのロビーには、アウトフィッターのデスクがあり、昼１２：００～１３：００位まで、スタッフがいて、そこでツアーを申し込むことができます。ホテルのスタッフも親切でフレンドリーです。ダウンタウンに泊る予定ならこのホテルは申し分ないと思います。
