"Close to exceptional shopping"

quickest check in and check out of any hotel I have ever stayed in. Front desk staff were all extremely helpful and pleasant. Only complaint is minor. I couldn't get a bottle of soda that wasn't Pepsi. I understand that Pepsi is their vendor but no choices were available either in the store or the machine. The hotel was very nice and only about a 10 minute drive to Salem. Our only complaint was that we called ahead about checking in and were told we would be able to check in by 3 instead of 4. When we arrived, only one of our rooms was ready and our room wasn't ready until almost 4:30. Also, we were not told at check in about the additional hold on our […] debit card for incidentals. "Nice Accommodations but Disappointing Service"
While the room itself was comfortable, there was an issue with our toilet. It kept running very loudly after flushing, and, at one point, it overflowed all over the floor. While the maintenance person came quickly, it was not a very nice experience for a family on vacation. We had to clean up the floor, as well, and the dirty towels were left on the […] floor by the maintenance person. The pool, while well-chlorinated, was not particularly clean. The tiles were slimy. Finally, the worst experience was while checking in. I very clearly asked if I could put all of the hotel charges on a card other than the one I had used to make the reservation. The person at the desk assured me this would be no problem. The next morning, I awoke to a text from my bank. Apparently, the hotel co had been withdrawn from each of my accounts, the one I had intended to pay hotel costs with, as well as $800 from the account through which I made the reservation. Kevin, the hotel manager, was very kind and helpful in trying to sort out the mess; however, it took at least two hours of our vacation to receive a credit from our bank, without which we would have had to return home being seriously short of money for our three day trip. The hitch was that all of the money had to be withdrawn within 24 hours, which meant multiple stops at the ATM machine in order to withdraw enough money for the trip since there were $200 limits at at all of the ATM's we used. "Clean, Quite and Good Breakfast"
We booked two rooms for our overnight stay for a family wedding in Marblehead, MA. I was pleased with the hotel from the outside appearance to the lobby, and room. The room was clean and quite, my only complaint was the air was blowing on our heads all night and there was no way to adjust the vents on the air conditioner to blow in a different direction. […] The bed had been placed with the headboard against the inside bathroom wall which I guess makes it quieter but puts you right in line with the air. My son-in-law put pillows in front of their air conditioner to divert the air. If it wasn't for this I would have rated our stay a 5. "Unfortunate Culmination of Events"
I arrived late and had to call into the back in order to find someone to help me check in. That evening a high school marching band was staying at the hotel, and despite having an off duty police officer on the premises there were still high school students stomping about the hallway, expertly avoiding the loan authority. For the next evening I asked […] if my room would be moved as it was located right outside all of the HVAC units on that side of the hotel. The noise was unbearable and constant. Because there was a wedding/reception no other rooms were available. The following evening the reception was in full swing and several (very loud) inebriated guests carried the party into their room next-door. The following day, housekeeping decided to take the do not disturb off of my door and enter my room despite the fact that I chose not to have them in the room. My closed laptop was open, and my iPad had been turned on. Because of the high tech work I do, I use a surveillance program that turns my camera on and records if the laptop lid is opened unexpectedly. I was able to observe the housekeeping staff rifling through my things. Upon checkout, I mentioned all of these things to the on-duty manager who tried (rather lamely) to offer me a comp to buy me breakfast; at that point I just wanted to leave… My suggestion is, before you book a room at this location, call ahead to inquire about construction, events, or high school marching bands… Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
