Have stayed here many times, and service from staff is always friendly and attentive. Rooms and amenities are a bit dated and mid-category, but location and over-all value are outstanding. The full kitchen makes it seem like your own apt. away from home. The elevators are a bit slow, and the a/c/heat system is noisy and funky. I have usually stayed at the English Bay, but from now on will choose Sandman Inn in Davie Village. The buses go by frequently, shopping and restaurants next door, and you can walk in less than 15 minutes almost everywhere. A suite with Ocean View was certainly woth the cost!

Great west side location. Tons of very good restaurants right out the front door lobby. Secure in that you need a room key to enter elevator or garage. We got a water facing room on the 18th floor with a detached bedroom. Not very big, but the view was spectacular. The city was very vibrant and we loved being there. The room was good but with a few improvements it could have rated 4 or 5/5. Our first night was in a room on the 10th floor - after complaining about the noise from the street and not fully hot water we were moved to the 22nd floor with no questions asked. The water temperature there was fine but there is still some street noise - the windows are not […] thick. The lounge was spacious and the kitchen well equipped. The cheap blankets on the bed were dissapointing - these should be replaced with comforters/duvets. The wifi was a good speed but occasionally dropped the connection for no clear reason. Great food abounds just steps out of the hotel all along Davie St. Bought day bus passes and had a great time riding around and exploring. This is a close in to downtown located high rise hotel with a very nice suite layout--full kitchen was a big plus. Bed (mattress) was only so-so. All other aspects of the room very satisfactory. A call for housekeeping and another for help with the refrigerator ware very promptly responded to. Been here twice and the major fault is their heating systems. Both rooms had issues with noise or heat controll on systems. Having a in house bar restauaraunt is a nice feature-even though the food is a bit expensive. Vancouver is a fun city.

The Sandman Suites on Davie is the perfectly situated hotel. Steps away from a grocery store, drug store and plenty of restaurants and coffee shops. The views on the upper floors were amazing. Easy walking distance to Stanley Park, beaches, shopping and nightlife. Will definitely stay here again.

Compared to other hotels I looked at in Vancouver, this was by far the most reasonable. My daughter and I stayed here for 3 nights. The weather was warm and the room did not cool down that well since the air conditioner was in the bedroom. Overall, I believe we got a good room for the price and the attached restaurant was very good.

As long as you're OK with being in Vancouver's gay district (and it's really a nice area), I'd highly recommend. It's located near most of the cool stuff to do in the city, and the room itself was very nice. My wife and I would probably stay there again.
