This Motel and all lodging in Australia is way over priced!! There is nothing at any number of stars under $100 per night! This Motel was the highest priced of the week !!!~~ It was comfortable, quality linens and towels, but very noisy. Advertised as WI FI in the room ..believe me there is NOT! Signal is very weak and did not connect but every second or two. Larger downloads would not work at all. There was an electric heater in the room but not plugged in and NO instructions as to how to turn it on. For some strange reason Aussies have an ON /OFF switch on every single receptacle. On most you can tell if it is on but some You cannot. so that was a factor in trying to turn the heater on as it got rather chilly in the room before dawn.

I wanted an inexpensive motel within a reasonable distance of downtown Hobart. The bus stop was 10 minutes walk from the hotel, and once on the bus it takes 11 minutes to get into Hobart. I was pleasantly surprised with the number and convenience of the electric plugs in the room. WiFi worked well. Cooking facilities were also a plus. There is a refrigerator and microwave in the room, and a common kitchen area with stoves. Laundry facilities were sort of an afterthought, but were perfectly adequate. A bit of a walk to the nearest grocery store. I would stay there again.

We throughly enjoyed our stay! It was cold and rainy during our visit, but the wood stove was great! Loved it when the wallabys visited our cabin in the evening!

Of all the rooms we stayed in on our Australian trip, this was the smallest, most uncomfortable bed and the most expensive. Good thing there was a single bed in addition to the queen size bed, as the mattress was so soft on the queen that we rolled to the center all night. I took the twin the next night and finally got a good night's sleep. Guess you […] are paying for the bay front location. We had a rental car, so wanted a hotel with free parking, which this one had, so it worked good for us, but it's not very close to downtown Hobart and the sites there. Even had free valet parking, which was great service. Meals in the hotel were expensive, so we only ate there once. Bathroom was very tiny, also. We took advantage of the guest coin operated laundry, which was a definite plus - saved us a bunch by not having to send it out. Read more

What a great location, and beautiful views- Shame that the blanket and quilt cover were so dirty-they were well overdue for a change and a wash.

Great except our room had no wireless reception which necessitated going into other areas of the hotel to do computer work. It should be mentioned that the whole hotel is not wireless accessable .

This is our fourth visit and as usual the staff are amazing and very helpful and welcoming. The rooms views are incredible especially the harbour and bay rooms. The rooms are generous and comfortable and the bathroom is lovely and well equipped. The revolving restaurant on top is first class all around. Thank you

Stayed in the Tower. Rooms were comfortable and very clean but quite old (think retro 70s) Which I guess can be a good and bad point. We had a small mixup with the reception over our booking (they only thought we were staying for 1 night) but it was fixed promptly and courteously. Overall very happy with our stay at Wrest Point

Stayed at the Water Edge room and it was not in the main tower. Little complicate to get the Water Edge room from the main gate and Casino. Very good River View room, very clean room, bed was comfortable so all OK however equipment is very old, especially TV was still CRT, not flat thin.

Great :) Waters Edge rooms were a fair walk to the lobby and restaurants. But it was a well equipped hotel. Lots of onsite amenities. Need a car if you want to easily see the sights of Hobart and its surrounds.

I wasn't very impressed with the room at all for a 4.5 star hotel it was rather dismal. Poor heating , uncomfortable beds , horrible blankets on bed , was a nice view though. It wasn't what I expected

The Mountain View Room is quite small despite having two beds. The furnishings, curtains and doonas look like they have seen better days and are a little worn out and could do with an update. There are no lifts to the Mountain View rooms which is a bit challenging when you are juggling your luggages and small children. While the hotel is in a lovely setting our Executive River View room was tired and dated. The TV is old, the curtains and decor are past their best before dates and the noisy air conditioning unit made sleeping difficult. The bed was comfortable but a lack of blankets and no spares meant we were cold most of the night. If you like to be cosy ask for […] extra blankets. It appears that the hotel is having some renovation work done but the current room rates are over priced for what you are getting. My final gripe is regarding the standard of food in the Loft restaurant. After travelling through Tassie for 5 days and having some of the best meals ever (thank you Banc in Swansea!), the Loft served up two of the worst meals we have ever had. The Ribs were overcooked and drowned in bbq sauce and the fish and chips were dried out and obviously not fresh. A disappointing way to end a fabulous trip to Tasmania. Read more

The location of Wrest Point is just around the corner from the centre of the city. It makes for a good walk in or a very quick drive to Hobart. It's very unique as it's a circular hotel. The valet service and staff were most helpful and friendly.

Enjoyed hotel stay, the room and premises were clean and pleasant, the staff reception, restaurants, breakfast room all carried out their duties efficiently and the amenities were excellent.
