Regarded as the capital of Muslim India from the early centuries, it is home to a number of forts, monuments, and mosques. This fortified city has a long and remarkable history. This area was on one occasion bounded by strong protective walls, of which only fragments remain. Even these days, the remains of its magnificent history can be spotted in Kashmiri Gate, Ajmeri Gate, Turkman Gate, and Delhi Gate. North Delhi is further characterized by the bazaar of Chandni Chowk, one of India's most famous wholesale and retail markets, situated opposite to the Red Fort, and by the Jama Masjid which is the biggest mosque in India. A tour of North Delhi is all about age-old buildings, crowded lanes, an array of food, and lively bazaars. Visitors can enjoy shopping for electronic goods, jewellery, stationery, footwear, and woolens at reduced rates.

More run down than I expected for the price. Sparsely booked, but they refused to accommodate a late check without a half day charge. I booked airport transfer with hotel: one trip was $40, another was $12. Odd.

We were a family of 4, including 2 kids and while the hotel was very accomodating and polite, it wasn't the friendliest place for kids. Our room was upgraded to the suite which was awesome given the very good price we had arranged with hotels.com, however the cost for the extra bed was more than half the price we paid for the entire room! The restaurant was also expensive. But the pool was lovely and a great asset when traveling with kids! The area around the hotel was quiet and lovely - we had hired a car and driver so were able to manage the distance from the rest of the sights.

Hotel is lovely and rooms massive. Rooms have windows but tempered glass into the coridoors which lets natural light in. Far better as road is so noisey. Be careful though as hotel tried to charge me 1600rps for an airport transfer when an offical taxi cost 250rps. Also the food in the restuarants are INCREDIBLY overpriced and expensive. I would not pay £10 for a toasted sandwich in London so wouldnt expect to in Delhi. Apart from that the hotel is nice and well located.

Charming British Colonial-era hotel with very large, comfortable rooms. Set in manicured park-like setting. Very courteous, helpful staff. Out-of-the-way location, though, for doing business in New Delhi.

The hotel was fab although the bar was very small. The service was good and the location not bad at all! Our stay in Old Dehli was great the hotel is ideally situated near the red fort and some shopping markets we wanted to visit so location was fab for our short stay!

Kommen gerne wieder
