The Kong Arthur is a nice, older hotel. I have stayed at the Kong Arthur 7 or 8 occasions of 3 to 5 nights each. I would not rate it 4 stars by American standards, but a nice hotel for business travel. The rooms are small but always clean and neat. The breakfast at this hotel is superb. I had a single room that I was concerned would be too small, but it was perfect for me. I stayed five nights and never felt cramped. The room and bathroom was spotless. Compared to many other hotels in Copenhagen the room size was fine. Also it was great for once to experience a hotel in Copehangen that had a 24/7 fitness place with free access. Also the free wifi access worked out great. In general very positive.

Loved it, except for the shower arrangement. For a hotel at this level, the shower should be over the tub! The staff was so nice and accommodating. I loved the feel of the reception area, friendly and homey, with a roaring fire and loads of folks having a drink.

Location is very good for exploring the city. Staff is friendly, but service is uneven.. Faxes may be old fashion, but deliver one two days later is not acceptable. The staff did assist in getting the document printed via e-mail, and then the signed document faxed. My room was lovely.

We arrived and after checking in, went to the room. It was okay, nothing great. We looked out onto an alley. We go to the restaurant for dinner. It is closed for a private party. Next morning we have the breakfast there, about $20 per head. We go out that day and return late in the afternoon. My wife asked the front desk what time the restaurant opens […] for dinner. She is told 7:00 PM. We go down at 7:30 and are told it is closed for a private party and that they never open for dinner for regular meals. So we set out walking. We ended up finding a whole in the wall where we got to pay $21 for a burger and fries. Drinks extra. Staff could have been better informed. Read more

the hotel is lovely. unfortunatey the staff needs some work. For an expensive international hotel the staff was very unsophisticated. The woman behind the bar which was well stocked did not know how to make any drinks except pour wine or beer. Surly attitude from many of the staff. It is a beautiful modern hotel on the inside. Concierges were helpful, knowledgeable about Copenhagen. The main staff is multilingual. Breakfasts are delicious though expensive (around $30 US/person). Thankfully, they are optional. Breakfast is in a nice atrium/greenhouse covering with lots of natural light on the ground floor, inside an open quad around […] which the hotel is organized on three sides. The only drawback was not for me, though I was surprised it is not addressed in a supposedly four star hotel: the hotel is NOT equipped for handicapped travelers, AND a bad impression was given at the very beginning because there was no offer to help with our luggage. There were two flights of stairs to get into the hotel, to drag our luggage up, without any other option. There was another flight of stairs down to get into the breakfast area or to access elevators. However, they were kind enough to loan us very good umbrellas when we wanted them for a temporary rain, which we returned each time, no charge. Though on a water-canal area of Copenhagen, there are no water views. Don't worry about the cold: our room was self-controlled in heating, and it was warm. Be sure to close windows after staff cleans your room--they don't tell you they open them a bit. Included internet worked well. Overall, a good hotel. I would give it three stars. I rated it down for the built infrastructure not being handicapped friendly and a somewhat standoffish staff sometimes. Great location. Read more

We had a Standard room and it was small! For a 4 stars hotel, the room is becoming old and would require a refresh. Service looks more like a 3 stars hotel (no groom; no one to help you with luggages) Breakfast is standard (no salmon, no fish, basic) Spa is great but closes but is opened 10 to 8PM on week days. It closes at 5PM on Sunday.

Very friendly and helpful staff, with quiet central location and very pleasant public area and dining room. HOWEVER, The hotel needs to solve one problem: guests staying in rooms facing inner courtyard are exposed to the loud voices of other guests enjoying that courtyard until very late hours. Air-conditioning would solve that problem by allowing guests […] to close their windows, but air-conditioning is hardly needed in Copenhagen and also this hotel tries to toe a very strict ecological line, which is commendable. During 3 successive nights I had to lodge a complaint with management about the noise. Wonderful hotel at a great price! My room was spacious and luxurious. The bathroom had a jacuzzi tub and there was a gorgeous spa downstairs with jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, and changing room. Full spa services were available for a charge.

The hotel was a decent place to stay, but was underwhelming. Room was very small; bathroom is tiny; tv in room, but cable was out all but about 3 hours in 3 days. Everything expensive; charge for even opening refrigerator or (also expensive) bottle of water on nightstand. The hotel is green, which is appreciated, but service was lax. No help with bags […] or finding room (which was far from obvious); arrived early and was told no rooms for hours. Went out (hauled bag to storage room, which had one key offered to anyone who wanted it), came back, others were checking in -- still had to wait another hour for a room. Airline had lost suitcase; hotel did not notify me when it arrived. Finally retrieved after another day behind the main desk. Asked for toothbrush and paste (due to missing suitcase). Clerk rummaged through lost and found, pulled out toothpaste "someone had left behind," then charged it to my room. All in all, disappointing. Read more

As I stated above, the hotel is clean and decent but lacks modern amenities such as a clock in the room, air conditioning and early morning room service. I found the location too far away from the major tourist sites in Copenhagen. The rooms were very clean and the staff at check-in was very courteous.

I have to point out right from the outset that I'm not one for complaining and don't tend to leave comments unless the hotel was exceptionally great or in the case of Hotel Kong Arthur, exceptionally poor. The hotel room 308 was cramped and the double bed was made up for 1 visitor with 1 single duvet; when we rang room service they said they didn't […] have any double duvet so we ended up having another single. Kettle didn't work properly but we were told to put up with it, although 'it's not ideal'. The wardrobe was in poor condition, I've stayed in B&B with better wardrobes than this 4* hotel. We couldn't close the curtains fully and there was a building just a few metres away from the window. Really poor quality mini toiletries and no shower gel. You're not allowed to put your own food/drink in the minibar or you'll be charged. To sum up the quality of the hotel, the notice you get about reusing towels was hand written on a Post-It note and stuck on the bathroom mirror. Perhaps I was unlucky as I chose the hotel based on the good rating but on this occasion they are getting the thumbs down from me. Read more

This was an excellent hotel for exploring the Norreport area; close to transport links, supermarket ( for milk and snacks ) and generally accessing social and shopping areas. room was very comfortable, bathroom on the small side, spa jacuzzi very relaxing and inviting after cold December walks, we ate breakfast outside so can't comment, didnt use bar either as there is a fantastic bar just opposite the italian cosy with candles and great xmas beer and food!! The only downside is the staff on reception not very warm or friendly […] when we checked in they didnt even say 'welcome' or ask where we travelled from or if we had a good trip - so not a good first impression but then you're not there much. They should also pre-warn you that you need to collect bathrobe and slippers from reception first then put them on before going down to the spa which we didnt realise, so we had to make another trip back upstairs to undress.
