"Wonderful stay and excellent staff."
The Queen is awesome in every way. Great neighborhood, quiet sleep and sherry and cookies in the evening. A true Victorian gem! The staff are so helpful especially Alberto, they couldn't have made our stay any better.Genuine Expedia guest review
Although we went to San Francisco for medical reasons at UCSF, we did enjoy our stay. The property is absolutely beautiful. The breakfast was very good, served in a charming dining room. All the employees we encountered were helpful and respectful.Genuine Expedia guest review

"One of my faforites"
The hotel has unique and classic décor that takes you back to days past. The bed was comfy and the breakfast was tasty. No complaints except the price could be a little be better. I travel a LOT and select hotels like this when I do, so think that the after tax and parking fees grand total is $40-$50 high. Still, I know I'll be back because the look […] of the furnishings is so great. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very fine; a nice surprise!"
I was pleasantly surprised by the Victorian ambience of the Queen Anne (yes, surprised despite the name). The staff was all lovely, the complementary cookies and sherry a nice touch, and a very good breakfast came with the room. The room itself was small and somewhat awkwardly laid out, but clean and perfectly sufficient for my needs. The hotel sits […] right on the edge of Japantown and Pacific Heights... it was an easy walk to good food, interesting areas, the cable car, and it's right on the #2 line which was a straight shot from the Embarcadero. I would definitely consider a return visit to the Queen Anne - especially if they do Christmas as lavishly as I am led to understand they do! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Weekend Stay on the way to Hawaii"
Hotel had a lot of character and is located in a great neighborhood. There was a little maintenance needed. A desk lamp in our room didn't work - it appears as though the outlet was dead. Overall, the stay was very enjoyable. The room was very clean.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice Refurbished Victorian"
I got a very reasonable rate for Downtown San Francisco at a late date as my business plans left little time for planning. The Queen Anne is obviously a historic Victorian that has been refurbished as well as I've ever seen. The room was a little small and, since it was on the top floor, parts of the ceiling were angled because of the roof line. This […] was only a problem in the shower as the ceiling angle did not let me stand up straight to take my morning shower. My room was also next to the Elevator shaft which made noise most of the night. The staff were very helpful and the free breakfast was a plus. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Charming, old-style European hotel"
You can't go wrong booking the Queen Anne. The front desk staff was uber helpful, our room was small but welcoming and comfortable (with a huge walk-in closet!). The bathroom had been recently updated, which was nice, although the toilet had a few flushing issues. But what is most charming about this hotel are the large common rooms on the main floor […] -- with two working fireplaces and gorgeous old antiques. The breakfast was quite nice as well. It is a tad difficult to reach unless you have a car (or come by taxi). Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"a beautiful journey back to Victorian Era"
Holiday season was THE season to stay at the Queen Anne Hotel! Amazing and often very accurately Victorian decorations adorned every corner and wall of the entry and public rooms & hallways - an exciting and welcome treat for visitors during this time of year. Service was impeccable and every need was catered to by employees. The only negative factor […] was that we did find ourselves feeling a bit cramped with the bath/shower curtain clinging closely...and stuffed behind a chair pillow was, interestingly, a pair of men's boxer shorts?? A previous guest's intentional test of maid service, perhaps? A bit weird, but this certainly did not even detract from every other wonderful amenity we enjoyed and appreciated! "Great Victorian Ambiance"
A relative recommended the Queen Anne Hotel to us. We were wonderfully surprised by the bonus of Victorian Christmas decorations throughout the hotel. There may have been some antiques in the common areas but not being connoisseurs, we believe the in-room furnishings seemed faux. Our favorite experience was climbing the multi-floor staircases which […] reminded us a bit of those moving staircases in Harry Potter. The complimentary breakfast included instant oatmeal, eggs & fruit for my gluten-free diet restriction and make-it-yourself waffles for my husband's favorite breakfast food. The only disappointment was connection problems with the new flat screen Direct TV system they had installed. We stayed in two different rooms over two nights; neither room's Direct TV system worked on first try with the remote. The hotel staff spent 30 minutes to get the first room working; the hotel staff for the second night was unable to get the second room working at all. There was advertised onscreen a Direct TV service number but the staff did not deem this helpful. Queen Anne parking lot was very accessible and very reasonable in price. We would stay again at the Queen Anne when we visit the The City especially for the holidays. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"A gem to be polished."
If chain hotels are your preference, you may not appreciate all the quaintness the Queen Anne has to offer. This 1890s Victorian gem just needs a little polishing here and there but overall a beautiful, warm, cozy stopover full of antiques and fireplace glow. The evening staff were always friendly and anxious to please. Rooms could be drafty and the […] walls a little thin but the platter of cookies greeting me after a long day, the fireplace in the room to settle in front of at the end of the day, and the free coffee, tea and water 24x7 are a few amenities that make me feel certain I'd return. "Great SF Hotel"
This review could have been a solid 5 except that my room was right next to a storage room, so starting at 4 AM, the hotel staff was in an out of that room at least 10 times and I got no sleep after 4 AM. So don't stay in room 315 or anywhere close to it if you want to sleep after 4 AM. Otherwise, Queen Ann is a great hotel in a quiet part of SF. The […] décor is amazing and they really go all out during Christmas. Brings you back to the 19th century. The staff is very friendly and accommodating and they make you feel like you are staying at home versus staying at some big brand hotel where you are just another guest staying in one of 500 cookie-cutter rooms. You get the boutique hotel experience at a decent price. Only downside is this hotel is a hike from any decent restaurants or tourist attractions but the staff is quick to call you a cab and all of SF is only a $10 cab ride away. I would definitely stay there again but not in room 315. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"What a gem!"
I really liked this hotel. Full of character and charm. Rooms are comfortable and staff is very friendly.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Would have given it a 5 but the Internet connection was in and out which made it hard to watch Netflix (by myself on a business trip so not much else to do). Otherwise hotel was gorgeous with a beautiful fireplace sitting area and extremely sweet staff. Sadly no haunted experience for meGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great location Great hotel"
Even though we're local, we spent a night there to celebrate my birthday and take in a show at the Fillmore. Great location, easy to get anywhere. Free coffee 24 hours a day! Sherry and cookies happy hour. They seem to be renovating some of the rooms, and ours was freshly renovated. Very nice. Would definitely stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Walking back in History"
The hotel is about 123 years old and authentic! The many antiques, and preserved architecture is wonderful. The place is quiet and comfortable for a get away or business. There is always room for improvement of maintenance or upkeep on such an old building, but the time there is well spent and the location is great.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Queen Anne a Dump"
Upon arrival lobby completely occupied by film crew. Rooms for our stay completely unacceptable: dingy dirty and dark. We left immediately and hotels.com refunded our pre-pay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
My room wasn't ready in time even though I'd called ahead to make sure it would be. And when I finally got into it, it reeked so badly of lemon pledge that I had to air it out for 2 hours. The breakfast was practically nothing more than cereal, muffins and fruit. Then later that night it became difficult to breathe through the smoke smell coming from […] the surrounding rooms with fireplaces running. The wait staff was overwhelmed and tried to be helpful though. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Gaudy and uncomfortable hotel"
Nice staff, but room was awkwardly shaped and laid out, TV was not functioning properly. My wife and I were flabbergasted when we saw our odd shaped room which was very difficult to maneuver through, an overweight person would find it impossible to walk through the door and past the bed without climbing over the bed. I wouldn't stay here again.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Excellent hotel for a romantic getaway"
Queen Anne hotel provided excellent accommodations and service while my wife and I were visiting San Francisco. It is in a quiet neighborhood but close to the bus to be able to get you anywhere. I can't say enough about the high quality of service received from the Queen Anne Hotel staff. My wife and I would definitely stay here again in the future. […] Bus 47 is 3 blocks to the east and will take you north to Fisherman's Wharf. Whole Foods is a couple blocks away (to the north east) and perfect for a quick lunch or snack. Fillmore Street which has a ton of great restaurants is 4 blocks west. We liked Glaze and The Grove restaurants on Fillmore Street. For an adventure go to the tile steps located on Moraga Street between 15th and 16th Aves (bring water since it is a lot of walking but very well worth it). Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Neat historic hotel but needs updating."
Knowing this is an historic hotel, I didn't expect it's condition to be perfect but I was dissappointed in how poorly it has been maintained. The public areas were fine but our rooms were not. (We had to move to a different room on our second night.) The rooms felt damp and musty and had a bad odor. The red carpet felt damp and dirty and I didn't feel […] comfortable walking on it in bare feet. Much of the furniture was scratched and the upholstry was worn and tattered. Didn't even want to sit on it. Cob webs on the ceiling implied that the rooms rarely get a good cleaning. In general, just felt run down and unclean. Was pleasantly surprised to learn they served complimentary breakfast but then disappointed in the bad coffee and poorly executed buffet. This hotel could be really cool if they took the time to clean, update and edit. I would not go back. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
I wanted a King Bed and got two doubles. They said they were sold out. The hotel is in an OK neighborhood and near a lot but marginally far to walk. We walked to the civic center and to Bart but you could not walk it with bags. I would not walk the neighborhood late at night.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"A great vintage San Francisco experience"
The St Anne is located in a very convenient area of the city, very near to Japan town It's got a wonderful relaxed, small-hotel feel to it and is the perfect base for a visit to the City. Furnishings are simple, but it's all there, well maintained, and attractive.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Beautiful Old Hotel"
It is a beautiful old hotel. We had a fireplace in our room and a duralog was provided each night. There is sherry and cookies each evening. Coffee hot chocolate and tea are available all day in the spectacular sitting room. The sitting room has two fireplaces, newspapers, tons of old period furniture, and lots of room to lounge and relax. We went on […] the haunted tour that meets right at the hotel and learned a lot about SF history and had a lot of fun. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
This is a beautiful hotel in a fun area of town. It is like stepping back in time to the Victorian Era with all of the carved wood and velvet drapes. The common areas are great to relax in and plan your day. Even though we were there in July it was coolish and the fireplaces gave a welcoming atmosphere. The grand stairway was fun to use to see the landings […] of each floor. Of course there is an elevator too. I loved the bench in it! I cannot say enough about the great staff. They were always so helpful and friendly even to the extent of walking us outside to get oriented to where to go. Thanks Michael! Coming from very warm weather in Georgia I was concerned about the lack of AC, however there was no need for air-conditioning. We slept very well with the window open each night. My only area of "needs improvement" would be the bathroom of my particular room. However, I can say that it was serviceable and clean. The breakfast was very good and the coffee tasty. I would stay there again. Almost forgot to mention the complimentary car service to down town each morning - that is a terrific perk! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Experience Doesn't Live Up to Name"
Queen Anne Hotel in San Francisco sounds romantic and alluring. The reality is that it's seen better days. The furniture in the room is old and beaten up, walls thin - a bit sad. "spend a night in an historic San Fran hotel"
The breakfast is complimentary every day. If your not super picky you will be pleased. They had hardboiled eggs, sausage, a waffle maker and an assortment of breads, pastries, and cereals available every morning. We found it to be very convenient and it was nice to not have to walk somewhere in the city for breakfast. Also we were able to take turns […] eating while one was in the room with the baby which was an added bonus. The rooms have Direct TV, the Wifi is very good for a building over 100 years old. Every afternoon they set out complimentary Sherry and cookies which were very yummy. This encourages patrons to relax and hang out in front of the fireplaces in the lobby. The decor is VERY victorian but beautiful to those that can appreciate it. Staff is friendly and responsive to our needs. It was the only hotel on a long road trip style vacation that had the crib waiting for us in the room. All other hotels had to be reminded multiple times. Convenient location. We highly recommend taking advantage of the MUNI system in San Francisco, it will save your legs. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
