The hotel is beautiful. We loved the carousel bar!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Loved that hotel in the French Quarter"
Love this hotel, Christmas decorations so pretty, Carsousel Bar great fun, and love location in the quarter close to cute shops and wonderful restaurants. Only negative was not enough valet's to park cars in hotel - that process took a while. But, overall was wonderful. Will definitely be back.Genuine Expedia guest review
We came down for my friends 30th birthday and we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel was decorated beautiful for the holidays. The location was absolutely wonderful. Everything was within walking distance or a short cab ride. The valet service was top notch. Will stay again!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Centrally located. Close to everything worth seeing and doing in the French quarters. However, standard room is on the small side. Party of 4 should book a suite.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel was within walking to many of the tourist sites. There were many restaurants in the area and all were good. Royal Street itself was closed so you did not have to worry about cars, traffic lights, etc. This is the third time that my husband and I were in New Orleans and we will be going back.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great location but disappointing overall"
We were excited to stay at this historic hotel. However we were quite disappointed with the room especially for the amount we were paying for it. While the lobby was beautiful especially with the Christmas decorations, the room was small and rather shabby and quite characterless. The skirting was taped up at the corner, the carpet was stained, it just […] all seemed very tired. The bathroom was tiny. Barely any room there for our things. The location was however great right in the heart of the French Quarter and walking distance to many of New Orleans sights. The staff are friendly and efficient and were helpful after we had checked out but left something behind in the room. I think if the rooms are upgraded this hotel would be superb. "It was nice"
The hotel was nice, but a bit too close to the action for my tastes. It was fun to sit in the Carousel, knowing that my grandmother had done the same! The 1st night was nice and quiet, the 2nd night was crowded and loud.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Could Have Been Better"
Beautiful, old hotel in a great location in the Quarter. Waited 45 minutes to get the car parked due to the crowds from the Bayou Classic. Room was pretty small and cramped but had all the amenities. Beds were comfortable but comforter didn't have a good, soft feel....probably picked so it would be durable. Halls loud at night, street noise bad- and […] we were on the 10th floor!- so it was hard to sleep. For $287 all told, it was pricey for the quality, but I guess you pay for the convenience. This was the perfect place to stay in New Orleans. We were able to walk, or take the street car, to everything we wanted to do. It is beautiful. So festive with the Christmas decorations.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Awesome Visit to New Orleans at Hotel Monteleone!!"
We had a really great time at The Hotel Monteleone. My wife and I went with really good friends. The staff was awesome. I remember two names off hand. Julia and Nolan.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Excellent.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We had an amazing time during our stay at Hotel Monteleone!!! The hotel was beautiful and clean, and the staff was very polite and helpful. We really enjoyed hanging out at the revolving bar of The Carousel, and the hotel's close proximity to Bourbon Street kept the party going. We will definitely be staying at Hotel Monteleone again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Adequate hotel, well located in FQ"
Room was small but comfy and clean, with good bed. Staff was less welcoming than in most hotels of this stature, more tolerant of guests than welcoming them. HVAC didn't work well; constant cooling fan no matter where thermostat was set. TV did not work on HD channels, and guest services acted like it was no big deal. Biggest problem was valet parking […] - I, along with several other customers, waited forever, 40 minutes in my case, for car to be brought up from garage. Garage staff was apologetic, but nobody else in hotel staff seemed to care. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
We stayed for eight nights. The hotel was spectacular. Beautiful property. Everything was well cared for and you could feel the quality when you entered the building. From the moment we checked in to the time our luggage was loaded into the cab to head to the airport, the staff was helpful, courteous, and accommodating. I would recommend this hotel […] to anyone who enjoys good service at a top shelf hotel. The only negatives were that the room we stayed in was small and the bathroom lighting was a bit dark. It is an older hotel, so the rooms are naturally smaller but the lighting could be improved. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Very nice hotel. Great location."
Loved the hotel except the size of the room and bathroom. Both were very small, and too small for the cost.Genuine Expedia guest review
Was very nice. Have stayed many times has always been a great experience.Genuine Expedia guest review
My only disappointment was that I left a wallet in my bag in the concole drawer and it was taken along with $500 in cash, I know I should have put my money in the safe but am disappointed that this would happen in such an upscale hotelGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Best location in the Big Easy."

"Hotel Monteleone is like staying with Family"
In the two or more decades I've been staying at Hotel Monteleone I have never had a bad visit. From the Garage, to the Roof Top Lounge nothing but the best of everything. The Carousel Bar with its newly expanded Piano and lounge area is even better than before. Give Hotel Monteleone a Stay and you won't be able to stay away long.Genuine Expedia guest review
"A party all the time"
Just walking into the lobby makes me happy! Beautiful old world style and jazzy atmosphere. Always bustling with people, music and the glitter of crystal chandeliers. Good and drinks are top notch with best service in elegant but relaxed environment. Loved it much. A real Mew Orleans treasure. In the heart of the French Quarter, walking distance to […] convention center, street cars and buses. Easy to get a cab most of the time. Charming in a way new hotels will never be. "This was our only day to experience the French Q."
Their computers were down. We tried to get our room at 12noon and they told us the rooms were not clean yet (not telling us the truth). People were already sleeping/lounging in the lobby. Came back at 2 and more people were lounging. No seats were available and the staff was still stalling. We did the best we could to enjoy the French Quarter knowing […] we had not checked into a room and our luggage was piled with others. We came back at 4:30 and to a long line of ticked off people and a packed lobby. After waiting in the line for approximately an hour we escorted to a room without room keys. The only way back in was to find a manager to open our door. We tried again to enjoy the area only to come back to a slammed hotel that could not get it together and still no room keys were being issued. We could not get anyone to let us into our room until we cut in line and demanded someone take us to our room (this did not go well). This hotel took a hard situation and made it worse. Don't lie and let it build into that. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Beautiful and quaint."
The hotel including the lobby, standard room, restaurant & bar are spotless clean & beautifully decorated. Definitely visit the Carousel Lounge with the revolving bar off the main lobby. It's a conversation piece.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Gorgeous with no free benefits"
Gorgeous hotel. Very fancy. Rooms were clean, pretty and refreshed daily but tiny. The lobby was beautiful and sparkly and the carousel bar was amazing but you couldnt get a seat unless you stood behind someone for a long time and stilole their seats when they got up and this was in November. The bar is not exclusively for hotel guests. Wifi was not […] free. The so called complimentary wine could only be gotten if you purchased an entre. Two for breakfast at their restaurant was $50. So you can imagine what that entre would cost. The other amentities were just as costly. The so called heated pool was barely room temp (but it was nov). To sum it up, its beautiful but nothing is cheap or free. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

We visit New Orleans frequently and love to stay here...classic french decor.Genuine Expedia guest review
Very elegant hotel. Lobby was beautiful, although a little disjointed and not very open. Room was bigger than expected as it is older. Room could use some refurbishing but very comfortable. Beds the only knock. Too short and in need of replacement. Would definitely stay there again - it's a neat place.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Wonderful stay, perfect location to enjoy the uniqueness that is New Orleans.Genuine Expedia guest review
A beautiful old world hotel in the French quarter, lots of things to see.Genuine Expedia guest review
We couldn't be happier with our choice of hotels. Staff helpful, friendly, courteous, understanding. Room beautiful and clean with appropriate decor. Services complete and easy to access. Criollo the most wonderful restaurant with friendly servers, a terrific menu and talented chefs. We loved every minute at this hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Good location in near Bourbon St, that's it."
I was expecting better considering the reviews I read about this hotel. Key didn't work first time up. I picked up several "what to do" magazines and the maid threw them all out. Even the ones that were in the room when I arrived! Rooms are very small, but bathroom was good. I've definitely stayed at better NOLA hotels like the Royal Sonesta just up […] the street and still my fave. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Wonderful hotel terrible room"
We loved our stay in NOLA and the Monteleone except that our room (334) was way too small for a king size bed and a large TV console. It was barely possible to walk by the foot of the bed.In addition the bathroom was also very tiny. Everyone at the hotel was cordial and helpful but we were less than comfortable in our room. We left at 9am returned at […] 4pm one day and the room was not made up--quite annoying. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Location of this historic hotel can't be beaten!"
Group of 14 ladies went to NOLA for "Chicago." Location of the Monteleone is so central to everything we wanted to do the 36 hours we were in NOLA.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Paid top dollar for a jr. suite. Extremely bad view, the refrigerator was not stocked, and the remotes to both televisions were not working. This is too nice of a hotel to have these issues. Not happy because the room was so very expensive and I do not feel that i got my moneys worth.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent hotel located in French Quarter"
Took the wife and two kids to New Orleans for a long weekend, stayed at the Monteleone and would not hestitate to stay there again. "Not so Great"
Had to move my room 4 times. Original room had window on Royal street 2nd floor. So loud I couldn't sleep. Kept calling front desk to get a street jazz player (one who plays for tips) to stop playing. It took 2 hours. They moved us to another room that smelled like smoke. Then theyoved is to another top The size of a box. Then they moved is to a room […] without a window, that was also so small we felt suffocated. Finally settled with the 5th room. The front desk offered is NO confession for our trouble... NOT even a complemtary cocktail at the restaurant bar!!!! The door men and lobby personnel are awesome though. Probably won't be back.
