Love this hotel. It's a perfect location to get around and see the French Quarter or to venture out to Uptown, Aquarium, etc. Staff were so helpful and polite. Lobby and rooms were beautiful. The pool looks bigger in the photos than it really is but it definitely is a great place to refresh yourself after walking around. We used the Airport Shuttle […] recommended on their website. The company was prompt and delightful. Shuttle was roomy, comfortable and priced affordably. Definitely would recommend to anyone who doesn't want to rent a car. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"great location really outdated decor"
The hotel is right in the French Quarters next to some great restaurants. But our room really needed updating. Our room and bathroom were small, that is ok but the decor certainly was not. Very Ooold wallpaper and bathroom fixtures. Expected better from the 4 stars expedia rates it and the high guest ratingGenuine Expedia guest review
"Everything great except the pool was rather murky"
Great hotel and great staff, but the pool was rather murky and heavy on chlorine. However, being a rooftop pool that could be due to dust in the air.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great hotel in the French Quarter"
Had a great one nite stay. Service from parking to lost and found was outstanding. Cool bar. Also a historic hotel in New Orleans. Highly recommended.Genuine Expedia guest review
A truly grand old hotel that has been beautifully maintained. Nothing to complain about. Great location. I highly recommend this hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"great hotel in a great location"
There isn't much soundproofing in the rooms and other guests were quite noisy all night long.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location, historic charm, noisy rooms"
The location can't be beat and the history of the hotel is very interesting. Checking in was a breeze. Our room was large with and updated bathroom. The beds were not super comfortable but do-able. It's an old hotel, so you hear everything in the hallway. My sleep was very disrupted. Between the Bourbon street crowd coming back to hotel at 4-5 am (hotel […] is only 2 blocks from Bourbon) and the maids talking to each other in the hallway starting at 8-9am, I did not find the hotel very restful when in the room. The pool area is unbelievably beautiful. Once again, though, the hotel clientele poorly affected the experience. There was a highly intoxicated young man by the pool who needed to be restrained by a friend. There were no hotel representatives providing assistance at the pool during this event (the bar had already closed). The carousel bar is really unique and fun. Although usually packed, it is a good place to get a night cap and Ernest Hemingway used to frequent it. Also, at check out there was a long line with only 2 attendants. I called to ask for my car to be pulled up from the valet and was told they were "too busy" to pull any cars. I was instructed to come down and stand in line to get my car. This is unacceptable for a fine hotel with a high valet charge to make a customer stand in line for the car. They need a better system. Overall, I would consider staying in this hotel again if I was going for a party weekend, but not if I wanted quiet and excellent comfort. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Let the good times roll!!"
From the moment we arrived it was perfect from the valet to the front desk. The restaurant was excellent. The doormen just everyone were great. The location was perfect we could walk to anywhere we wanted to go. There are not enough words to describe the experience we had. You are truly one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. I would recommend […] this hotel to anyone going to NOLA truly a great place as well as beautiful. Also need to check out the Carousel Bar, beautiful. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
The room was not ready and I had an important event that I was hosting and it made me late. The doorman sent my taxi away and instead called me a new taxi that the hotel uses and cost more money. The receptionist was extremely rude. I will never use this hotel again. They are very disorganized.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very nice hotel"
This was my 3rd time staying there. Love it! Good restaurant, food, and atmosphere.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Beautiful Hotel in the French Quarter"
My husband and I spent our first anniversary at the Hotel Monteleone this past weekend. The hotel is beautiful with great food and the carousel bar for entertainment. The hotel is in prime location in the French Quarter. It is right near Bourbon St., a short walk to Decataur and the river, and right near plenty of restaurants, shopping, and enterta […] inment. Great location; lots of fun; but the room wound up being an interior room with no windows, which I did not realize when it was booked. Also it was by the elevator and you could hear that through the wall. That was disappointing. But the room was comfortable and the A/C worked great!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Hotel Monteleone was recommended to us."
We stayed here at the recommendation of a friend. The stay was great, the location couldn't be better. We had a fantastic time!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice Hotel --close to everything in New Orleans!"
Hotel was quite busy, very clean and very nice! Hotel staff was busy but very helpful! Lots going on. Hotel Montleone is in the middle of everything and very close to Deanie's, our family's favorite restaurant. Shopping and food in the area was FABULOUS! Will stay there again next time, no question about it.Genuine Expedia guest review
Very good experience. Just didn't get our room cleaned.Genuine Expedia guest review
This place if overrated! Rooms are small, dark and badly need maintenance. If you are the kind of person who likes big lobby, and drink at the hotel bar, this place might be the right one for you. Otherwise, you will be disappointed. I was!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
First time in New Orleans, and it's was amazing. Hotel Monteleone is the best place to experience the first time Orleans trip. The staff, food, room, and everything in between. Highly recommend !!!Genuine Expedia guest review

"Beautiful hotel........perfect location."
We were very disappointed that it took 5 hrs to get a our room (noon-5PM) The room was soooooo small with NO closet, just 2.... 10 inch wide "spaces" attached to the TV center for hanging clothing. Hardly enough for a 7 day stay! The view was across from a run down building with a roof top parking lot. The Manager finally came up and moved us to a proper […] room.....with a real closet and a wonderful view. Be sure to ask for a room with a "CLOSET" Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Our room was on the 7th floor. It was spacious clean and quiet. The concierge was great - helped us book a swamp tour on a holiday. Btw I would highly reccomend the airboat tours. The hotel bar was very nice, a bit pricey for cocktails but they looked great. We had a beer. Overall I would stay here again if ever back in the area.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Beautiful Old World Hotel"
The Monteleone is the beauty of Royal Street in the French Quarter. Steps away from the famous Acme Oyster House, Galatoire"s, countless galleries and antique shops. The rooftop pool is wonderful to combat the serious heat and humidity that is New Orleans in the summer, and a warm oasis on cool winter days. Do not miss the Carousel Bar with pitch perfect […] cocktails and service. Don't miss the extensive live music schedule. The doormen were woderfully helpful with directions, bags, cabs, recommendations. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
i had a very disappointing stay at the monteleone. poor service, at one point i had reservations at an uptown restaurant, requested a cab and they placed me in a car service in lieu of a normal cab, one way ride for 40 dollars. i will never stay at the monteleone again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Beautiful Hotel, small room"
The hotel it self was awesome and in a great location. However, the rooms were very small and with 4 people it felt overcrowded.Genuine Expedia guest review
Beautiful decor and friendly staff. Everyone from garage attendant to bar tender had a positive attitude and were very friendly. Our room had a perfect view of the Mississippi River. Can't wait to go back and stay at the Monteleone again!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Beautiful Hotel, centrally located"
Overall, a great hotel. Beautiful central lobby and very nice room. Enjoyed the rooftop pool.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel was wonderful. In the hotel's quest to be diversified in nationalities, some of the employees were very hard to understand. This created some misunderstandings and lack of confidence in the business at the front desk. Check-in was a little uncomfortable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to the French Quarter"
Hotel with all the amenities yet still has the charm of a historic hotel. Very popular bar. Nice upscale crowd with live music. Nice change from Bourbon Street.Genuine Expedia guest review
"5th Trip to NOLA"
This is our 5th trip to New Orleans. We have stayed at a different hotel for each visit; however, this hotel was a notch above the others. We arrived early and were given the option of what room was available at the moment or wait until our room was ready (which was a better location). We opted for our reserved room & waited it out in the Carousel Bar. […] As we're normally beer drinkers, I found myself enjoying other drinks as the bartenders in the Carousel Bar have a talent that shouldn't be wasted on merely pouring a draft. The room was fantastic with soft towels & robes. The pool on the roof was the perfect bonus to a fantastic hotel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"First trip to New Orleans"
My wife and I made our first trip to New Orleans. The Monteleone was right in the central part of everything. The Staff and the accomedations were top notch I would recommend this hotel to anyone.Genuine Expedia guest review
"It's the best hotel in the French Quarter"
The Monteleone is a classy hotel. It is not perfect, but it is the best choice in the French Quarter for style, cleanliness, location, and professional staff. You feel good the minute you walk in the door. The rich lighting, the marble floors, light fixtures, the buzz of people talking and having a good time, the rotating bar conveniently located just […] off the lobby, and the spaciousness of the lobby itself all add to the positive feeling. You know you are going to like your stay in this place. The rooms are rather small, but wonderfully decorated with beautiful granite and marble bathrooms. The hotel has been well-maintained, and does not show its age. The outside architecture is impressive as you approach the entrance. I have one relatively small complaint, and that is the bedding. I have slept in more comfortable hotel beds. I couldn't put my finger on the cause, but I had trouble sleeping on the double bed. Perhaps a queen size bed would have been better. One issue with the beds was that the bed linens were tucked in too much at the bottom - they were too short - so I had to redo the linens at the bottom to make them cover properly at the top. I have found that other hotels do the same thing, and do not understand the reason, unless the housekeepers want the beds to look a certain way at the top. I didn't try the restaurant, the Criolla, but reviewed the menu and it is something to behold; very eclectic. I understand the chef is the winner of great awards. "noisy and cramped"
Good location but rooms are very small and the amenities are few! I asked for a quiet room and we got one with a trumpet player playing all night outside our window! Not conducive for sleeping!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice location, but beds were not very comfortable"
we stayed at this hotel on our way home from Orlando. It is in a great location. The room was small but nice, but the beds are very uncomfortable.Genuine Expedia guest review
Was very happy with our hotel selection. The bar is the place to be when they have music, rivals Bourbon Street for sure. Restaurant food is good but pricy. Must eat there atleast once. Rooms are small but shoot whose in is their rooms long? The pool is another great amenity ....back to the bar, it gets packed, be patient and wait for a seat on the […] carousel, its worth it. "Great hotel in French Quarter."
Hotel Monteleone was great. Staff everywhere were really helpful, lined us up with great tours; very efficient and nice in restaurant; and bartender went out of way to tell us about new wine from South Africa they were trying out. Room was very comfortable with nice roomy bathroom. Great location in French Quarter.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great time in the French Quarter"
Hotel was great. Rooms nicely decorated and our 6th floor room was very quiet. Hotel staff was awesome. Only tip we have is... ...be ready for $35/day parking cost if you bring a car. We weren't aware of it until we got there. But valet service was also great.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Great place to stay in the Quarter"
This hotel is the perfect location if you want to hang around on Bourbon Street but go back to a quiet room to sleep. Just a couple of blocks from all the action. Rooftop pool is nice. Not your ordinary hotel. Rooms are small but nicely appointed.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We arrived early and, to our surprise , our room was ready. The hotel is lovely, centrally located, within walking distance to all attractions and restaurants. In-house restaurant and carousel bar ideal for late dinner or drinks and jazz. Clean and comfortable -definite thumbs up!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great location, great hotel"
Perfect location. Only one block from both Canal and Bourbon streets, but no noise from either. Five or six blocks to the square, with just about all of the "must visit" restaurants along the way. Hotel interior was very nice. Great bar (though crowded from open to close) with wonderful live music in the afternoon and evening. Room was a tad smaller […] than I expected, but was nicely decorated and certainly comfortable. Would definitely recommend to anyone. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
We had a wonderful trip! The hotel was beautiful and great location. We walked to dinner at K-Pauls, excellent, highly recommend get reservations or you might not get in. Then we walked to Preservation hall and listened to a great jazz band. The wine shop next door to K-Paul's sold the wine we had at dinner. Then we walked the quarter a little and then […] headed back to Hotel Monteleon. The bar there was the place to be. It was a nicer crowd than in some places we walked past on streets. It had a group entertaining with a singer that was lively. The room was very comfortable, with everything you could want. We were on the 7th floor and didn't hear anyone at all. It was as if we were alone and not in a big city. Very nice and I do recommend. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"very nice hotel. close to everything."
my only complaint was the valet parking situation. when we arrived, we could not get near the valet area. apparently, there were not enough people to park the cars, so the there was a line of parked cars waiting. we finally had to park our car at the end of the line and carry our luggage to the entrance. no one came to see if we needed help. all this […] took about 20-30 minutes. we finally found a doorman and gave him our keys. once we checked in, everything else was very nice. the bar is fantastic.
