Enjoyed our stay very much. Architecture is beautiful, interior is classic with high-end furniture & gorgeous chandeliers. The carousel bar is fun & has such history. The hotel bed was supremely comfortable and the water pressure was excellent. The hotel simply has gravitas! Enjoy!

Overall excellent stay, again. One disappointment - at check-out - although there are 7 "stations" at front desk, only ONE was staffed while 7 or 8 hotel patrons waited in line! Great Location, Great staff, totally redone room with a lot of class which recognized their heritage ( read room design that was terrific but accurately reflected the history of the hotel -think very classy) . Easy to get everywhere in the quarter - everything was within reasonable walking distance . Despite a couple of little things that were not right - I will definitely return.

We loved our stay at Hotel Monteleone! We came for my husband's 30th birthday. It was very safe with safe valet parking and that was extremely important for my husband's first trip to New Orleans. The hotel is gorgeous on the inside and the carousel bar was beautiful. We would definitely stay there again.

The woman that checked us in was extremely rude and flustered and asked if we had cancelled our reservation (which we had not). She finally was able to check us in, but it was an odd experience. Then, when we tried to have a late check out on a Monday, she informed us that she could only give us 30 extra minutes. It was very unhelpful and lowered our opinion of the hotel.

Our room wa astandard King. Some of the amenities (i.e. the TV cabinet) were a little worn out and unnesesary with today's flat screen monitors. If this cabinet was exchanged for a smaller one, it would make the room appear larger. Decor is old world elegant and bath is small but well mantained with nice marble and granite surfaces. The bed was extremely comfortable.

How disappointing! We were so looking forward to staying at this hotel, but it took us 3 times to get a reasonable room. The first one had stained carpeting visible before we turned on the light, and torn curtains. The second was tiny and on the floor directly over the front door and very noisy. All 3 rooms were dingy; strange bathroom layouts with the toilet jutting into the middle of the room, battered furniture, and peeling wall paper. Really a let-down, ESPECIALLY at these prices. They are really resting on their historical laurels. I won't be back.

The hotel is a real gem. The restaurant is incredible with excellent service. The carroussel bar is one if the touristic spots in New Orleans. The room could be a little larger, and my heating was not working. But it was a very good experience.

We first checked into The Courtyard in the French Quarter and hated it. We immediately checked out and found The Monteleone. We can't say enough about what an amazing stay we had. It was such a beautiful classy hotel with so much character. The staff, room, and restaurant Criollo were incredible. I will definitely only be staying there when I'm in New Orleans again!

Perhaps the friendliest and most competent hotel staff in the industry. They make you feel at home the minute the luggage is pulled from the vehicle. Can't remember when we've had this kind of service, from the doormen to the check-in staff. Everything was superb.

Our stay at this beautiful old hotel was wonderful. The atmosphere is truly old-world luxury and left us feeling as if we were time travelers. The service was excellent and the lobby area, lounge and restaurant were luxuriously appointed and maintained. One drawback of this historic hotel is the standard rooms are relatively small (as with many other older hotels). We would recommend upgrading rooms if your budget allows. Also, if you really want to sit at the infamous revolving Carousel Bar, be prepared to stand and wait at the ready for quite some time as this appears to be on the to-do lists of many other visitors to the French Quarter.

although booked for 2 nights, I was unable to make it to New Orleans for the 1st night. I called to notify the hotel. What I didn't like or appreciate is the 4 PM check in with 12 noon check out. That doesn't compute to me as a full days stay. Upon check out I was forced to stand out in the cold awaiting my vehicle to be brought out due to "they're busy with so many check outs at that time". At a rate of $44/ night for parking you should be notified ahead of time what the expected time of getting your vehicle to you should be as accurate as the times they keep for check in and check out. Overall, the hotel did not live up to their reputation for as an historical, high priced, well located hotel. While paying them for parking, I had to also pay for taxi to and from hotel to have a meal out. At this time of year, in CST, it is dark by 5 PM, not suitable for 2 women to be out alone in an unknown environment. We could orient ourselves to the locale on the following day, after check out, This hotel was overrated in many aspects.

We are locally from Louisiana and decided to take a one night trip to celebrate 15 years of marriage. Upon check in, in which we were allowed to check in early, we were given two coupons to get two free cocktails from the bar area. I appreciated this, since we were celebrating our anniversary. However, upon check in I notified the front desk that the Keruig coffee maker did not work, they said they would change it out, and that never happened. We did order room service breakfast to be delivered at 9AM the next morning, and the breakfast was not delivered until 9:45 after I called to see what was going on. All in all, somewhat of a good stay, but the service needs tweaking.

Lobby, Restaurant and Carousel Bar were all amazing - the room, however, was a huge disappointment. Not only was the room completely outdated - the bathroom reminded me of being on a cruise ship. You could literally brush your teeth at the sink while standing in the shower. We will defiantly continue to visit the Carousel Bar on our trips to NOLA but will not be staying again at the Hotel.

Helpful staff, including front desk and concierge, as well as doormen. Initial rooms overlooked a construction site but upon request, the rooms were changed and still were next to each other, which we appreciated. We overlooked Royal Street, which was not noisy but just pleasant. Beds were comfortable, bathroom not large but shower was powerful, which we enjoyed. Room is ample, although not oversized. Of course the lobby was lovely and the Carousel bar always hopping. We used the exercise room upstairs and also the outdoor pool. (Wished they had a hot tub, but can't have everything.) Free wifi was good. We'd go back.

the hotel location is perfect! It was very busy due to New Years and the Ohio vs Alabama football fans! We were there three nights and never got close to the Carousel bar, not even at 11 a.m. the morning! The rooms were quaint but the pillows and bed were not exceptional. We expected better quality for a hotel of this caliber. The staff in the hotel and restaurant were exceptional, however. They were friendly, smiling, helpful.

Lobby was small but nice. I know this is an historic hotel, but it is by no means luxury, and that is what I paid for. Seems people buy the name and history, and forget comfort. The room was very small, window opened to a giant white wall, and the bed was unbareable. The room was borderline claustrophobic. The bed was horrible, my goodness, one of the worst mattresses I've ever slept on at a hotel. Location was good, but after experiencing New Orleans, there isn't a bad location anywhere in the French Quarter, it's all the same. This isn't a bad hotel, my reaction is mostly due to how much i paid. After seeing the other hotels in Nola and thinking back to how much those cost, this place is way overpriced. I'd like to recognize Nolan, the bellman. He was the nicest guy I met in New Orleans, excellent guy, and excellent service. He enjoys his job and it shows. Thank you! In summary, not a bad hotel but way overpriced for what you get.

Room was warm and A/C would not kick on. Front desk said that they could not do anything at 5am because Engineer was sleeping. We Called the front desk again at 7:30 am and only took the guy 30 seconds to troubleshoot and fix the problem. Probably would not go back with multiple lower priced venues available in the quarter.
