Not a low priced room. The view was a brick wall 8 feet away.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The pool was closed for repair which was really disappointing since we picked this hotel because of location and the pool. We used another hotel's (Omni) pool but was a hassle. Carousel bar was fun.Genuine Expedia guest review
Hotel staff are excellent and the hotel is beautiful. Great place to rest, stay and it is near anything you want!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice hotel near French Quarter"
The hotel is nice but didn't like the fact the bar manager asked everyone to finish their drinks in lobby. We were in the carousel bar and it was rude to do that to the guests of the hotel. The room was small but overall niceGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great Location- Famous Hotel Bar"
The front desk staff was sub-par. We had requested connecting rooms on reservation and called in a few days before to confirm. Again, mentioned at check-in, Gentleman checking us sent us to room down the hall with keys that didn't work. Went back to front desk, then adjoining room wasn't avail until 2nd night. Next day, the room wasn't ready to switch […] until 2pm, we move rooms to find out the room didn't connect and was much smaller. Very bad communication and service. "Hotel Monteleone Bachelorette Party"
We came to the Hotel Monteleone for a New Orleana Bachelorette Party weekend. We loves the hotel location, so close to everything touristy. We had multiple girls who had never been to Nola so we stuck to the main attractions. The hotel room was large and the hotel is gorgeous. We had a great experience and would stay again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Fat Tuesday Wedding"
The hotel was amazing, and the staff was even better. We got an early check in on fat tuesday and because it was our wedding day we felt like they treated us like royalty. The room was amazing. We could not have chosen a better place to stay and we will definatly stay there again when we go back for our anniversary. Thank you so very much for every […] thing. "The Carousel Bar is worth the room rate alone"
Hotel lobby and bar area are beautiful. Rooms are clean and comfortable but nothing spectacular. The room rate is due to Monteleone's excellent location (on Royal Street) in the French Quarter and the famous Carousel Bar. In my opinion, the bar is worth the cost of the hotel. A must visit!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Back in NOLA again had a great time as always, 1st Mardi Gras though!! WoW!!! the weather was crappy but it didn't ruining anything The hotel was great, clean, great location, good food near by, staff friendly will stay here againGenuine Expedia guest review
"Hotel was great, easy access to all the activities"
All the staff was very nice ,friendly and very accomodating to our needs during our stay. Very Nice hotels to stay. Were happy to be in 14th floor as we requested. Ill be back and stay in this hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
Great room service and wonderfully assistance at the help desk but upon my departure they couldn't find my car for almost an hour. But the problem was quickly solved.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Excellent location in the French Quarter"
I'm from New Orleans and It's the only hotel I stay at when traveling home. It's comfortable, has a beautiful lobby, good service, clean rooms, it's close to great restaurants, it has a parking garage, it's easy to get to with a car from the airport, you can walk all over the Quarter and Business District from the location, it's two blocks from the […] St. Charles trolley. It has two bars in the lobby and a top notch restaurant. It's on Royal Street and not noisy at night. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
This hotel is beautiful. Our room was clean, the bed was very comfortable but most of all...the staff, during the craziness or Mardi Gras did an amazing job. All were so friendly and made us feel at home. Room service was awesome. Security was very organized and kept an eye on everything. I look forward to returning to New Orleans...so far my favorite […] city...and when I do I will be staying at the Hotel Monteleone every time. "Belle of the Vieux Carre"
Beautiful lobby and very friendly staff. Asked for a quiet room and got one on the 11th floor where there was very little street noised (we before Mardi Gras). The room was a bit small but well organized. The only downside was the bed which was a bit too soft for me. To be fair, the staff said they would relocate me when I mentioned this but I found […] it easier to just move to a cheaper hotel (the Marriott, $170 vs $350 for that night). "GREAT location but old/tired hotel"
This was a fantastic location - walk right out and be in the heart of everything New Orleans! There is even a Walgreens right across the street if you forgot anything when you were packing. The hotel bar was VERY crowded and it was a struggle to get a drink at the revolving, carousel bar. The hotel itself is very old but historic. The carpet in the […] room was very dirty but the rest of the room was ok. We were on a lower floor facing the street and the windows are very old and not insulated so you could hear everything going on out on the street. Luckily we went to bed late enough that noise wasn't a problem. It seems everything in the city may be similar in age/condition so as far as hotels go this is worth the money for the location alone. Staff was wonderful, Carousel Bar downstairs was very fun. Lots of antique stores right on the block. Can't wait to return!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Paid for 4 Star, Got 1 Star"
Shower head was broke, bed was uncomfortable, pillows were terrible. Headboard in room next door needs to be secured to the wall somehow. Very much an experience you'd expect from a motel!!!! Was expecting much more from Monteleone. Would not recommend it.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Amazing hotel. Close to shopping, restaurants!!"

"BEAUTIFUL 4 STAR HOTEL CLOSE TO FINEST RESTAURANTS"
IT WAS A TOTAL PLEASURE IN EVERY WAY - BEAUTIFULLY DECORATED, FRIENDLY STAFF, DELIGHTFUL RESTAURANT (INCLUDING A COMPLIMENTARY BOTTLE OF HOUSE WINE WITH DINNER), AND UNIQUE "CAROUSEL" BAR. ALSO, VERY CLOSE TO SOME OF THE CITY'S OTHER FINEST RESTAURANTS AND FRENCH QUARTER ATTRACTIONS. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Expedia traveler's beware!"
I have never given an negative review in my 7 years of online travel ratings, but I am glad to make an exception for this hotel. Specifically, the staff here was rude, impolite and condescending. After arriving early before check in time of 3 pm I was greeted warmly by the front doorman who politely showed me to the check in desk. That was the last […] polite face I saw for the duration of my stay. I was told that there were no rooms available until I asked another agent to check for me while MY agent went into the back for a minute. This outraged MY agent and he let me know. It went downhill from there. My license was expired by 17 days. I was refused the use of my credit card to payment or incidentals. I was not given a refund after paying cash for the room, plus $60 cash for incidentals. I was forced to call Expedia for reconciliation of charges. Awful. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"PERFECT place to stay! 5 STARS!"
We stayed at the Hotel Monteleone in the French Quarter from January 9 - 12, 2014. The stay was beyond our expectations. The rooms were very regal and clean. The bed was ridiculously comfortable! We had a problem-free, fast check in after a long day of travel to arrive in New Orleans! The bellhops were fabulous, always opening the doors with a smile. […] The famous carousel bar is a charm! We had a blast there, and again every staff member at the bar was hospitable and polite. Hotel Monteleone has customer service PERFECT! Thanks again! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Would return in a minute!"
This hotel exceeded our expectations which were pretty high. The breakfast was very good; you could enjoy the buffet or order from a menu. "Classy hotel in the middle of everything! Love it!"
My friends and I spent New Years 2014 at Hotel Monteleone. It was by far the nicest place I've stayed in New Orleans by a long shot (this makes my 5th trip to the city). The hotel is extravagant, clean, comfortable and close to everything you could want...and the hotel bar is spectacular. We had friends talking about meeting us at "The Carousel Bar" […] before we even left home. It was a pleasant surprise to find "The Carousel Bar" in our hotel lobby! ...not much of a walk back to bed. The hotel is very upper class and feels very prestigious...we felt very much at home our entire stay. Our previous visits to New Orleans were at various hotels that looked great in pictures, but in person...not so promising. This isn't the case at all with Hotel Monteleone. If there's nicer in New Orleans...I've haven't seen it. It's not the cheapest place out there...but I wouldn't want to sleep in the cheapest anyway, so - for what you're paying for, I'd say its well worth it. A++ Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
I loved this hotel. It was off the beaten path, although it was on Royal St., considered a popular French Quarter road. I especially enjoyed the bar at the hotel on Wednesday nights, which included a great show to watch at the lounge of Swing/Jazz type music and dance performing. It was a fabulous place to stay and only 3 blocks from Harrahs Casino. […] When I go to N.O. again, this is the only hotel I would like to stay at. The only downside was that I asked the front desk if I could buy the small garbage can in the hotel room so that I can put it in my house, where I have several items from around the world and they told me they had some on their online store...they have no online store. I did not like the misdirection. Other than that particular staff member at the front desk, I would highly recommend this hotel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Our 10th Anniversary"
Excellent hotel and very friendly staff. The hotel restaurant, Criello, where we had our anniversary dinner was exquisite! Would definitely stay here again. "Great location & beautiful hotel"
I'd never stayed at the Monteleone and always wanted to. We were in town for a work Christmas party, and the location was perfect, as our party was at Galatoire's on Bourbon Street. The Carousel Bar is a favorite place of ours to get a drink, which we did, and enjoyed it very much. We actually got lucky & scored 2 seats at the actual bar. As nice as […] our room was, I don't think it was any nicer than other hotels we've stayed at in New Orleans. In the future, I may stay there again, but I can always get a cheaper room at a very nice hotel in the area. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Great location and really nice hotel. My only complaint is that I requested one of my rooms have two beds. By the time of check in they only had a room with one bed. I would be so mad if I had not requested twice and got Hotels.com to call and verify. Also the famous causal bar was broken for our stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I arrived at 1 hoping for perhaps an early check in. The place was very busy so I understood that an early check in would not be available. I went out and had a few drinks with friends and was told they would call in around 3 when check in is typically. I never heard from them so I walked all the way back at 3 just to be told there are no rooms ready. […] My room ended up being ready at 7 PM. right in the middle of dinner. I just think that when they can insist you are out of your room by noon, I should insist that I can be in my room by 3. I was very disappointed by their response to this whole thing and it made my stay there very inconvenient. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice hotel, Worn down French Quarter"
Frech Quarter WAS a mecca for blues fans. Nowadays they play bartender music, ad for drinks and hustlers. However, we spent Christmas Eve there, had an excellent Reveillion Dinner and the Monteleone is quite an instititution. One of the best hotels in town. The French Quarter needs a musical make up, anyway. Many bums and addicts lying in the parks […] and streets, but still one of the safest places in the US. Jamie Haynes was out of town, love his paintings ( his gallery is THE eye catcher). Enjoyed this trip. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
