Riverside Hotel

Enjoyed stay, right in the middle of everything - nice bar and restaurant in hotel. Only downside was we were charged $23 for parking overnight. Doesn't make sense to me when we are paying to stay there.

It was a good short break in Fort Lauderdale. The hotel is very classic and neat. Nearby any local restaurant, water taxi and cruise sightseeing. The room was nice and comfy. The bed was super great that make hard to get up in the morning. The staff really helpful. I definitely stay there again with a good deal.

Overall, I had a most enjoyable stay at the Riverside Hotel. Spacious, immaculate room and bath, very comfortable bed, nice view from my balcony. The staff was friendly and efficient, and the location couldn't be better.

Always a nice place to stay. The Riverside's restaurant has probably the best location and ambience in Ft. Lauderdale but sadly, the food does not match the surroundings. On the other hand the hotel staff is friendly and welcoming. If only they would eliminate or reduce the valet parking charge.

The face of the hotel on las olas blvd looks dreadfully dated. The other side is more inviting. The inside is modern with a spanish deco feel. Elevator to 2nd/3rd floor was tiny. Breakfast from the restaurant was OUTSTANDING. Much better experience than I expected when considering the price.

Convieniently located to everthing - shops, beach, restaurants, etc. Staff was friendly and helpful! Love this this place. The hotel was built in 1937 and has lots of character. The only thing I wish is that I stayed in the newer section that has 12 floors. Would have been nice to see a view of the surrounding area. Great weekend getaway!

I have stayed at this hotel before and have enjoyed my stay very much. The only concer I would like to share is that upon checkout I was presented with a $69.00 Overnight Valet bill. Nothing about this charge what told to me upon my arrival. The clerk did take my credit card # for what she deemed to be " incidental" charges. This would have been the […] time to explain about the valet fee. I don't consider $69.00 to be incidental at all. The atmosphere of the Hotel was great. I felt like I was taken back in time. The rooms were decorated nicely with old decor. A joy ole black gentleman was singing lovely tones throughout the night. The restaurant patio was full of happy people.

This old timey hote in downtown Lauderdale was fantastic for our long weekend. The staff was gracious, the room very clean and comfortable. Best of all, it was a quiet stay. The walls were pretty thick, maybe because of the old plaster, but whatever it was, we both enjoyed a good night's sleep each evening of our stay. Nice hotel, good location for dining etc. Only complaint is the wi-fi. Internet access in the room was non-existent, even though they say free wireless, and the connection in the lobby/bar area worked only some of the time. Pictures are deceiving, Rooms and bathrooms are small. Lack of vending and ice machines. Pricing of parking is ridiculous. $18.99 a night to park yourself and $23.99 a night for valet parking. I have stayed here twice and loved both times. My suggestion is to spend the extra money and go with the tower section of the hotel floors 9-12 w/balcony rooms as you get a great river view of the boats going by and the city at night is beautiful. This is the hotel you want to stay at if you want to park your car and walk to everything.

I had a late check in and the bar was closing so I am sure she wanted to go home. She never rushed me, told me about the heritage of the hotel and invited me back for happy hour the next day. When I came back with friends the next day, the bar was very busy but Marleni gave me the same personal attention that she did when I was the only person there. We stayed in the tower, and the view was spectacular -- both intercoastal and Las Olas Blvd. The bed was extremely comfortable, we felt like staying in every day! Staff were helpful and pleasant. My only issue was with nightly parking fees (at about $16 a night) but this can be expected in any resort or downtown area. This is an older hotel, and it is showing its age, at least in the room I had. The room's rug was loose and untacked, there were vermin droppings on the bathroom floor, and the shower was impossible to manage as far as hot/cold water mix was concerned. On the other hand, the front desk staff and concierge were extremely helpful and courteous.

We had a wonderful time at the Riverside Hotel. We stayed in the executive tower and really enjoyed our room. The staff was wonderful and the hotel itself is very beautiful. The only complaint we had was the spotty wifi. We couldn't get connected very often and it was frustrating.
