Great room and locationGenuine Expedia guest review
We really enjoyed our stay in New Orleans. First time for my husband but second time for me. The staff at the hotel are very accomodating and friendly. We like the location of the hotel because it's at the center of the French Quarter, convenient to most of the places we went to. After a long walk, we could always go back and relax. Actually, our daughter […] sent us an EM on where to go in NO. She also loved this place. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Excellent for the location"
The Hotel is old in some areas like the one I stayed, but that added an antique old fashion characteristic to our stay in NOLA. The hotel staff was great and supportive specially when we arrived that the room was very cold and at our second call they fixed the problem. Besides that everything was very good, the bathroom products very good, we even ask […] for extra ones to take home and were given. All staff greats you in /out the building. It was a very nice experience and would stay there again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"French Quarter destination"
Decent hotel for package price and convenient to French Quarter. Quiet inside if you need to escape the party. Jazz in bar was great.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Thanksgiving weekend 2013"
As usual, excellent service. Rooms are somewhat small, because of the age of the structure, but comfortable. Our bathroom could have used some new calk, but overall the room was kept up well. Our guests in a different room, were disappointed by the room service, but we did not try it ourselves. "Nice Hotel, unlucky weekend."
While the hotel lobby and amenities were luxurious, I was a little disappointed by the rooms themselves. For what we paid, the room was very basic. The TV and internet was also very limited for a 4 star hotel. And for a southern state, the staff at the registration desks wasn't very friendly. Late at night seemed a little dangerous to go out looking […] for a pharmacy and no where in the hotel had or sold water. The vending machines were only soda, there was no water fountain. May sound petty, but still an issue for me. When I called room service to ask for water, they sounded aggravated by the request but still brought a bottle. Overall our experience was pleasant. Everything was clean and comfortable, and I really loved the area, the jazz club and the food at the hotel. Just expected a bit more of the room. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great Hotel on Bourbon"
I visit the FQ on a regular and usually stay at the other end. However my girlfriend and I, decided to spend this Halloween on Bourbon at Royal Sonesta. Although the rooms weren't as upscale as we're used to and small, but the hotel itself has a ton of amenities and the rooms still managed to remain quiet with all the craziness around. The hotel staff […] was great! If you're planning to head to the French Quarter and party the entire time, I would recommend this hotel 100%. "Right on Bourbon Street but VERY quiet"
Staff esp concierge and doorman were very helpful. Only concern was the tv - would just shut of and the remote was very hard to use. Would return for sure!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Comfortable rooms and nice staff."
Very clean. One elevator was broken, and had to take the stairs often to avoid long waits. The Thanksgiving day brunch was amazing! Have never seen so much food and friendly wait staff. Asked for late check out, however had to have key reporgramed, and still could not get into the room. Had to have security unlock it. Overall, great location, clean, […] nice staff, but would never recommend paying more than seasonal specials. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Thin walls can hear everything"
Older hotel. Burbon street smells. Great hotel staff. Awful experience because the walls were so thin I could hear my neighbors having sex. It was awful. Won't stay there again.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Easy to stay put ;)"
We loved our stay! It was a cold and rainy day and we didn't leave the hotel. We enjoyed the band in the hotel bar then had a fabulous dinner at Desire Oyster bar and never left the hotel grounds.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great location in the thick of Bourbon St. Room was clean, staff friendly. Did not spend much time there and when I did I was on the balcony. 2nd floor balcony room facing Bienville, sure it was noisy but thats why I stayed there. Was awesome to be able to go up to the room and load up on drinks. If you want quiet go higher or an inner room or stay […] off Bourbon street, would stay here again. "Great location; excellent staff across the board."
Because this was my first time in NOLA,the location couldn't have been better: I stepped out the front door and was on Bourbon St. All the staff I met were helpful, friendly. The building itself and the room were nice. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others and intend to go back myself.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Wonderful place to visit the French Quarter"
We visited New Orleans for the first time to explore the French Quarter. We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Very nice, clean. You have to put up with a little noise from Bourbon Street but the hotel stay was worth it.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Bad Customer service"
My TV and A/C unit were broken in my room and all they said was thanks for letting them know they will get the engineering dept. right on it to fix it. I will not stay back at this place again...Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Great location to Jackson Square, French Quarter and Superdome.. Entire staff was very helpful and friendly. Room was very clean and comfortable. "right in the heart of the French quarter."
We were delighted with our room which must have been upgraded for some unknown reason. We were sure either the friends we were traveling with or our daughter upgraded us because it was my birthday but they said no. So maybe when we made the reservation I sort of recall answering "birthday" to a question "is this a special occasion?" but not positive. […] We were given a "patio room." We entered from an outside atrium and there was a living room downstairs and up a spiral staircase was our bedroom and enormous bathroom! How delicious! Very comfortable. Very quiet, away from the noise of Bourbon street. we loved it. I believe we had only reserved a standard King, Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
The hotel is very pretty and it is perfectly located right in the heart of Bourbon Street. A standard room is much too small though, as is the bathroom. The desk agent told me that the pool is heated at night, and it is not. That was disappointing after I changed and got ready to go in. The hotel staff is courteous.Genuine Expedia guest review
"GREAT location BEAUTIFUL hotel (PARKING NOT FREE)"
This hotel was a dream. I was heading to Ole Miss from Austin and New Orleans was the perfect stop for a quick overnight stay. My experience with this historical hotel was completely magical. Staff was friendly and informative. i had a room with a large balcony. Even though it's on bourbon street, the doors surprisingly kept out most of the sound and […] allowed me to easily sleep in peace. The bed was extremely comfortable. The ONLY negative is that parking was something like $50 and we were just there for one night. At those rates, parking should be included. Regardless I CANNOT WAIT TO STAY HERE AGAIN!!! "Nice hotel, on the action"
Nice hotel on the action of Bourbon Street, the only reason I wouldn't recommend it is that it's impossible to sleep. But if you're not planning on sleeping then the all night party shouldn't be a problem.Genuine Expedia guest review
The room was nice. The location was awesome. No coffee maker in the room, but there's a coffee shop downstairs.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Very nice hotel in a great locatio."
Had a great stay on a busy night in the French Quarter. The hotel is perfect for those wishing to experience the lively activities on Bourbon Street. Every place worth going is within walking distance.Genuine Expedia guest review
I was there with my boyfriend and when we get there. There they didn't have the right room. I booked this hotel in September. We were moved three times. My boyfriend went down stairs to get me something to drink and a guard that was there ask for his card, my boyfriend told him here's my card. The guard told him we have a lot of no good people that […] come in here. My boyfriend asked himso what are you saying I'm ip to know good. That really hurt him, i thought that was so nasty of him to say something like that to a paying customer. In the room the bathroom sink stopper was broken and the shower head was falling down. I was so displeased with this hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Right in the heart of Bourbon St."
This was a quick trip to New Orleans for my husband and I. Our first run in was with the doorman who seemed uninterested in helping us when my husband said he could get the bags himself. I understand he works for tips, but really we can get our one suitcase ourselves. The desk clerk seemed even less interested in helping us. I found him to be flat and […] unfriendly. Disappointing. The room itself was clean and sufficient. Very small. We had a balcony room, which was amazing to people watch. The balcony is very small. Like 2-3 feet, and it is adjoined to everyone else's balcony. For some reason, every night our room smelled like food. We were next to some private party room. One night was a reception. Another a dinner party. The noise was not a bother. The smells of all the food a bit much to handle. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Not what I expected for the price"
Hotel offered a pool view or street view. We chose the pool view. Got a room with a concrete wall view. Hotel offered to move us to a pool view room for an upgrade charge (after originally offering us the room at the current rate). They moved us to a street view. Room was very small, furniture was mismatched. Telephone did not have a template on it […] so you didn't know what number to call for the front desk, bellman, etc. While the only amenities mentioned were a bar, safe, bath robes, blow dryer and toiletries, I assumed a hotel of this caliber would have a coffee maker, fridge, and microwave. No. We could order a pot of coffee for approx. nineteen dollars. Outrageous. A bottle of water was six fifty. Come on, really? Tipped the valet parking guys five dollars in and out, five dollars for each bellman in and out, including the extra bellman they sent to move us to a new room. Room was fairly clean, but on 2nd night, we didn't have a rug for the bathroom and a used washcloth was still hanging over the shower rod. The toilet paper holder fell off the wall while the cleaning crew was there and they just left it on the counter. The only thing we got for our six hundred twenty eight dollar two-night stay was the convenience of the location. I will never stay at this hotel again, nor will I recommend it. The facility and staff were great. We were close to all the action and our group had a fantastic time. The rooms were charming and clean. We were on the street side, but only minimally bothered by street noise. I would come back here again.Genuine Expedia guest review
leaving the Gulf, decided to stop on the way home for the night. Book online...quickly, booked king, got queen. Called desk the changed to king, but not without the lady acting like it was a inconvenience, because I was a online costumer. Was that necessary to point out? .....Who wants to drive around looking for a place? when we can do it online! This […] was last a minute.... and the room looked nothing liked what I booked! I left some thing in car, because room was suppose to have them. Hair dryer, etc...did not! Next time I'm in New Orleans I think I'll try somewhere else. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Hotel, Exceptional Staff"
We were in NOLA for a good friend's wedding. We traveled with our 8 year old son so we were a little concerned about staying right on Bourbon Street but we wanted to be in the Quarter for its wide array of activities outside of drinking until one vomits. The Royal Sonesta looked like one of the better hotels in the area. Also, it had a pool for our […] son who loves to swim and the Irvin Mayfield Jazz Playhouse which is one of the only jazz clubs that welcomes children. While I have to say Bourbon Street was mostly inappropriate for our boy, there were plenty of side street egress from the building so we could avoid being on Bourbon at night when coming back from activities elsewhere. The staff at this hotel was suuuuper personable and took exceptional care of us. They gave our boy a T-shirt and they gave us great advice on every question we asked. Treated us like family. The building, rooms, pool etc were in good shape and everything was clean and fully functional. The hotel restaurant, Desire, is mostly worth skipping though. Food was good but it gave me the trots, so I would avoid it with so much other good grub in town. Would definitely refer friends to stay here and I would stay here again. "Dont have to leave the hotel at all"
Love the opportunities to dine, enjoy the inhouse jazz club, pool, workout facility. No breakfast and no in room coffee for the AM makes you get out of the room early. 3 great restaurants in the hotel. The only warning - you will hear noise from the surrounding streets - otherwise we loved this hotel stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
