Room was not ready at 3:00 pm check-in. Front desk took cell number to advise when room was ready, but never called. Room was clean, but features are becoming dated at this price point.

Great location, rooms with nice view. Service was nice. Pool wasn't open at night to enjoy. Not really a big fan of the room ammenities. There was no fridge/microwave. They didn't really cater to our needs - just what they are programmed to do. Parking is crazy expensive! I wouldn't stay here again, not worth the price.

My husband and I spent Thanksgiving and the following day here in order to relax and get away from the daily grind for a while. Everything was just terrific. The staff were wonderful, the spa was amazing, the food was delicious. No complaints. If I can get into this hotel again for the price I paid, I would do it.

I was very happy at the Ritz. It met my expectations of what I expected the Ritz to be - a high degree of attention to service and a very nice room (not overly deluxe, but very comfortable). The highlight, however, was that the concierge was able to get tickets for me to the Oprah show with just a few hours notice. He not only got the tickets, but wrote me a long note about "tricks" about getting in, etc.

The room description said there was a shower and a soaking tub. I expected a shower AND a soaking tub. What I got was a regular, standard bathtub with a shower head. Pretty lame description. Also, the picture of the Superior Room isn't quite what you will get...

This Ritz has a lot going for it: location, amenities and luxury. That's to be expected. But there are some minor things that weren't expected. Where, for example, did they hide the brochure or folder that described the hotel services? It's almost like you had to play hide-and-go-seek to find things. And the concierge service was what's to be expected, but at a Holiday Inn, not a Ritz-Carlton. At a Ritz-Carlton, I expect the concierges to know stuff, not just to hand out brochures that may or may not answer my questions.

This Ritz was a exactly what you expect when you stay in a Ritz. It is the standard bearer for excellence. It is an elegant and stately (not "hip") place to stay, with an older mature crowd.

Everything about our stay at the Ritz was fantastic, though I was surprised at how small our room was. I suppose for the full value of a reward night, I expected something greater. I also got the always mysterious "free upgrade", when you're never quite sure if they're actually giving you a smaller room than you reserved. But anyway, it's as luxurious and posh as one might expect. The bed was heavenly. To be honest, though, you could have the experience by just having brunch here.

The Ritz Carlton Chicago is a Four Seasons Hotel now. It was completely up to expectations, although there were a couple of dings during our recent stay in March 2007. They are so nice to kids - they have a nice toy wagon on check in; they put a mini fridge in our room so that we could keep kiddie snacks chilled. They were terrific at accommodating kids' food allergies. The property is still very nice. They accommodated an early check in. There's a kids playground across the street! The dings are minor, but I will note them: (a) concierge did not follow through on promise to steer us to kid-friendly events, but sent us a weblink that was not too helpful for us to look on our own; (b) pool is in the spa, and they kick kids out when "family" hours are over (5pm on weekdays); (c) Sunday breakfast in the Cafe restaurant, before the brunch hours, was absurdly expensive and service was absurdly slow (I think there was 1 server)... $100 for 3 adults and 2 toddlers, and took over 30 mins to get our food (oatmeal and french toast).
