This hotel has the BEST location in Montreux with the BEST receptionist ( Lili ) . The lake view is the most beautiful view in the world .Breakfast is very delicious and the service is superb. You get a free bus rides for your entire stay which is a plus .

I wish I would have stayed at least one more day in Montreux, 1st time in switzerland & wanted to see every city. Great hotel staff, friendly, nice room overlooking the ocean. The cons were: no phone in room (as we were in suites that were in a separate building), the bed was washed but had hairs from someone else on it & the bathroom light burned out […] our electric converter, the gym was unusable-every machine broken but the hotel situated right on the lake was perfect for a great run up to Chillion castle and back. The Hotel Eden is in a beautiful location on the Lake, views from the room were unbelievably scenic. All of the front desk staff were very helpful and friendly..in fact the truly ONLY friendly people we met in Montruex! The breakfast was plentiful but QUANTITY not QUALITY. The eggs were always cold, and the coffee the WORSE we had in all of Europe. […] The wait staff both in the breakfast and downstairs were not friendly and barely engaged. They should be trained on customer service by your front desk staff! The hotel has a great location but needs serious updating..starting with the carpet, The balconies are great but the furniture is cheap plastic which seems out of place with the decor of the rest of the hotel. The room was large enough, the bathroom fine, the beds comfortable and the air conditioning very appreciated..and the total space of the hotel is lovely..a little renovating will go a long way..ie new carpet, new outdoor furniture on balconies, and breakfast upgrades both in food and staff would substantially improve this hotel. Nice hotel for a quick getaway. The staff automatically upgraded us to lake facing view from a mountain facing view. A 10-15minute walk from train station. Breakfast not included in rate, but it feels really food to eat in their main dining room facing the lake if it's a sunny day - since the whole area is drenched in bright light.

The hotel was obviously a very plush hotel in its day. Excellent location right on the lake. Needs lots of work to restore it to prime condition. Front desk and restaurant staffs were very helpful. Restaurant food was very good. Parking at nearby garage convenient, but expensive. Breakfast not included, but found good bakery breakfast nearby.

The Hotel Eden Palace au Lac is a beautiful, elegant hotel on Lake Geneva in Montreux. There is a gorgeous view of the water from the huge windows in the hotel lobby. We traveled midweek during off-season, so the staff seemed sparse, but all of our needs were met. Parking is an issue. Although free parking is advertised, there are only about 10 parking […] slots in front of the building. Because we were traveling in October, we were able to get one of the free spaces, but I can see that this would be a problem during the busy season. A parking garage is only a half-block away. We didn't eat in the hotel so I can't comment on the food. We preferred to try different restaurants in the area, and there were a number within walking distance to choose from. We loved the promenade along the lake and walked all the way to the castle, then took the bus back with the free bus passes provided by the hotel. I was a little annoyed that the room assigned to us was on the first level facing the street with no view at all except the side of the office building across the way. It seems to me that we could have been provided with a better room when the hotel was empty! However, our Expedia rate was fantastic, and the room was clean and well maintained. I would definitely recommend this hotel because of its extremely courteous and helpful staff, old world charm, and perfect location on the lakefront. It is also within a 3-4 minute walk of a shopping center with a drugstore/pharmacy and a Migros supermarket, which is a great place to get water, provisions, etc, as well as chocolates and souvenirs at […] non-tourist prices. The breakfast buffet was excellent, with a large variety of baked goods, cheeses, cereals, meats, and hot foods in a beautiful setting. There is free internet access in the lobby area. I would make sure though to not accept a room in the outbuilding (Eden Villa), which was felt remote and dismal or to eat at Chez Gaston on the promenade level, which serves a sad, tired, overpriced, and overcooked buffet. Positives: the courteous staff, the gorgeous view from the lake view rooms, and its location right on the promenade, close to the main Jazz Festival venue and a 30-40 min scenic walk to Chillon Castle. Negatives: the pool is a lame, tiny above ground pool - I never saw anyone in it. The gym is tiny, stuffy, depressing, and doesn't even have free weights or any up to date equipment. We had a room facing the lake. It was good size and had a big bathroom and was clean and comfortable.; The view from the balcony was beautiful and we used the balcony quite a lot. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Eden Palace au Lac. The location right on the edge of the lake is perfect. It is well worth paying the extra money for a front room with a balcony as the views across the lake are breathtaking. Breakfast is excellent, staff were very friendly and use of the swimming pool next door a bonus. We plan to return soon.

Third time in Montreux - always on business. Always one night stays here. So I don't get to use the hotel facilities much. This is the nicest hotel I have been in so far here. It is a bit expensive, but certainly a nice hotel.

This hotel is in need of a little freshening up, however it's location was amazing; right on the shore or Lake Geneva with amazing views from our balcony. The staff were friendly and keen to help, however our room did not cope well with the heat. It was around 40 outside and our AC was broken, only to be replaced by a temporary unit which needed venting […] - instead the door had to be left a jar to fit the vent hose out. This meant the room was hot and noisy as the unit was neither effective nor quiet. Putting this aside the hotel was pleasant and well located. In cooler times this would not have been an issue. If you don't want a pool try the Grand hotel Swiss opposite the station. Had great views from their restaurant terrace! Read more

It was a weekend away without the children for the Jazz festival and I booked a double bedded room. We only had one complaint which was that there was a very strong smell like calor gas in one of our 2 rooms. We have no idea what was causing it - do fridges have gas? Can't recommend the Hotel Eden Palace du Lac more highly. Service was superb, hotel is centrally located with amazing views of the lake from the dining room, room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable (we take our own kettle, tea, coffee and dried milk - how sad are we!) Chambres coté rue (annoncé coté montagne !) moins attrayantes et plus bruyantes (poubelles, nettoyage rue tôt le matin). Mobilier chambre un peu vieillot. Chambres très propres. Rien à redire sur la literie ni sur le service de […] chambre. Petit déjeuner impeccable avec vaste choix au buffet et dans une très belle salle de style. Dommage que les sièges en tissu clair (!) et le tapis soient maculés de taches (impardonnable pour un hôtel de cette classe). Parking de l'hôtel pratique pour proximité mais très cher pour un parking sans surveillance et non couvert (25 chf par jour - dans rue attenante à l'hôtel). Nous n'avons pas fréquenté le restaurant à cause des prix pratiqués. Donc en résume : hôtel que je recommanderais pour sa situation, son accueil, ses services, son charme mais pas pour son prix un peu surfait. Par ailleurs ma demande impérative de chambre avec douche (demande faite sur site hotel.com lors de la réservation 2 mois avant date séjour - pour personne accompagnante à mobilité réduite) n'a pas pu être satisfaite.
