"just a place to sleep."
We only were just sleeping here. We got in late in the evening and left before 7 the next morning. We all did manage to sleep. The room seemed old. Staff was friendly on check-in. Overall, I'd say it was okay.Genuine Expedia guest review

Response by Ramada Plaza Waikiki Aloha Kansas Traveler: I'm sorry you thought our staff was rude - we actually get some good comments about their service I'm so sorry we offended you. We have not offered a free breakfast for over two years so I'm not sure where your information came from. If you bought because it was a no cancel no refund then the rate is low. We are an off beach property. Thanks for staying with us and I'm sorry we did not meet your expectations Warmest Aloha, Pattie Furtado
This hotel was EXCELLENT if you want a relatively inexpensive, no frills stay in Honolulu, which is what we needed. It was within walking distance of plenty of shops and restaurants, as well as the beach and trolley/public transportation stops. I would highly recommend for people who don't want to spend a fortune, and for people who have no intention […] of spending much time in your hotel room. Simple, good location, and affordable. And a decent pool. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Response by Ramada Plaza Waikiki Aloha Wendy from St. Louis! Thanks so much for "getting" who we are...an off beach property with a central location and free amenities. Our rates are lower compared to other properties but I'm glad we were what you needed. Warmest Aloha, Pattie Furtado
Ramada Plaza Waikiki (RPW) delivers very good value for the price. If you can familiarize yourself with the various road in the hotel vicinity, the hotel location is ideal if you want to be close to Waikiki, but will also be driving during your Honolulu stay. Room prices are less than most of the Waikiki hotels, but doesn't have budget hotel feel. I […] noticed that Chinese (and perhaps Japanese) aircrew used RWP for layovers, as did Chinese tour groups. Entire RPW staff was helpful and friendly. There were two computers and a printer in the lobby area (just before the elevators), but there was no privacy. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Fine for a short stay."
I stayed here as a stopover to other islands. The room was satisfactory, not as clean as it could be, but the bed was comfortable. The staff was courteous, though not overly helpful. The location was OK. I would look for a different location if I planned to stay longer. It is in the middle of highly trafficked streets and the view was only OK. Response by Ramada Plaza Waikiki Aloha and thanks for staying with us even though you didn't like the construction or the views. We don't advertise views because we are an off-beach property. I'm surprised your room didn't feel as clean as it should be - we will take extra care and talk to housekeeping. Sometimes it just takes a little encouragement. Mahalo for staying with us during your stop over. Warmest Aloha,

"Nice hotel with a short walk to Waikiki beach"
It is an older hotel that has been nicely updated. There are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. Great little hotel. It mud have been a local hotel before Ramada bought it and cleaned it up. Rooms are nice but a little tight. Full size beds vs. queens for double doubles. A very quiet hotel considering the location. Overall a very nice experience.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great Location to Waikiki Beach"
Location was great. Hotel was clean and up to date. The only disappointing part was paid parking that I wasn't made aware of during booking. $25/night for parking not only was a surprise but it made the cost go way up compared to my other options.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Ramada Plaza Waikiki Willie Aloha and sorry about the parking charge but it's a fact of life in Hawaii. Our space is limited and glad you were with us. We recommend that people sign up for transportation on our www.ramadaplazawaikiki.com website and purchase transfers from Robert's Hawaii. "Old Hotel Near the Beach"
It was a tired/old hotel of a 2 level but a low 3 star a best. The room was a flash back to the 70's. It seemed on the web site that it would be really close to the beach but it was more of a 10-15 minute walk across a major road and thru another hotel property. They did not do anything wrong, it just felt cheap, even the hotel's outer wall was very […] thin and the window did not seal well as a gap did provide lots of road noise. Nice hotel and excellent staff. All night construction across the street from our room made it difficult to get any rest. I would not recommend the hotel to anyone until that construction is complete.Genuine Expedia guest review
Response by Ramada Plaza Waikiki Aloha, sorry about the noise. Wish they would just go away but they have to finish the condo they are building. "Nice hotel, friendly staff, convenient location."
If youre not planning on spending your entire trip in your hotel, this hotel is perfect and worth your money. "Construction next door"
This is a 3-star hotel, so one shouldn't expect a 5-star. It is a bit north of downtown Waikiki, which is nice as the beach isn't as crowded. It also is across from the Hilton, so there are some nice restaurants, and beautiful outdoor landscaped areas there. The staff were very nice and helpful. One side of the hotel faces the street and the other […] faces construction of what I think will be a hotel. The construction is very noisy. The Ramada has a pool on the 2nd floor, but it isn't particularly pretty. The hotel has are no grounds so there is none of the ambiance of some of the other beach hotels. No restaurant, but a very inexpensive and good place just down the street and another a few blocks away, so that was fine. However, the price is certainly lower than some the resorts, by half or more. The room was large, clean, and comfortable. BUT-The AC was horrible. it didn't adequately cool the room and since it is an in-wall unit, it cycled on and then completely off all night long. I had to wear earplugs just to sleep. This was pretty aggravating. Also, I paid extra for a balcony room and it faced directly on to the construction, which started about 6 am with loud beep, beep, beeps, and hammering. The balcony was useless and I think i should have been told this before i paid an extra $15 a night for the outdoor sitting area. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Response by Ramada Plaza Waikiki Aloha Jacqui: I would personally like to go shut down that construction but it's near completion - finally. We do offer off beach prices and our rooms are clean and comfortable. Lots of free amenities - I'm sorry you paid extra for a room facing construction - but the view of the city lights are amazing if you are on a high floor. I wish you had complained to the front desk if you didn't like your room. They usually try to accommodate guests who are unhappy. We hope you do return one day Warmest Aloha Pattie
"VERY GOOD time at Ramada Plaza Waikiki"
The hotel is just what I needed for a short holiday. The hotel staff was helpful and the room was great. The air con was not the best, but I didn't need it cold in the room. Very clean and the room was made up beautifully every day by the cleaning staff. There was big time construction going on (another hotel being built) just outside my window and […] the crew started at 6am. Woke me up a couple of mornings. Not the hotel's fault, but not fun for me either. Still, all in all, the hotel was great for what I needed as a single person on holiday in Waikiki for a week! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Response by Ramada Plaza Waikiki Thank you for staying with us while you were in Waikiki. We are trying to facilitate a later start time for the construction next door but we haven't had much luck. They are actually building condominiums. Our air-conditioners are being changed out as our guests let us know that they are not working properly. I wish I knew what room you were in. It always helps the hotel and other guests if you alert the front desk that your air conditioner is not working right. We could try to change out the unit or move you to another room. We apologize for the noise and will keep trying to ask for a later start time but I thank you for letting us know that your stay was not the best it could be. We hope you come back some day. Warmest Aloha, Pattie

A great location for a quick overnight in between flights. It's a quick walk to the beach, with shops, restaurants and entertainment right across the street. It's a ways to the airport, but there are shuttles available to take you back and forth to the airport, for a price. "Hidden Gem in Honolulu"
This was an over the top, clean, friendly, comfortable, modern Ramada with rooms at a very good rate for the area it's in. Everything about this location was exceptional in it's class of hotel. I've stayed at competing chains in the area that would be considered more upscale that weren't as nice as this hotel, including the bedding. "Not what I expected for price"
The hotel was in a good downtown location, but usually Ramada's are pretty nice. This was an average hotel. I thought for the price I paid that it would be nicer. The room was clean just average in size and not much of a view! It was also very noisy at night!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Excellent location at a budget price."
Found check in to be easy and the staff very friendly. Rooms and hallways are kept very clean but the property is in need of updating. Nice big flat screen in the room with a small fridge, microwave and safe. Each room has it's on modem and our free wifi worked very well. We asked for a late checkout on our final day and they agreed, even though they […] were sold out that night. It's a short walk to numerous restaurants, convenience stores and most anything you need...including the beach, parks, and an impressive upscale mall. We knew we wouldn't spend much time in our room, so we didn't want to spend a lot, but location was important...this hotel was a great choice for that. A nice comfortable and clean hotel for it to be older. They charge alot (20-25) bucks per nite to park there. Downtown Waikiki is a mass of high rise buildings, and a sea of visitors from all countries. Hidden like a pearl in a clam is the lovely Ramada Plaza Waikiki. Directly across the street from the Hilton complex, tucked away behind the Aqua...is the bashful little Ramada. We are the adventurous type so we took the city's bus from the airport. The driver […] wasn't sure where the hotel was so we followed the route by GPS and pulled the cord when we reached the location. We called the hotel from in front of the Hilton and even though they assured us they were right across the street we couldn't get a visual. We followed their directions and found the tiny sign. Lo and behold what looked like an alley was in fact the front entrance. Upon arrival, staff was helpful and got us right in our room. It was a delightful surprise. Though our Expedia confirmation said king bed, highest floor we were on the 10th w/2 queens. At 9:30 pm the front desk called to apologize for the error - paperwork mixup - but it didn't effect our stay. The room on the higher floor probably had a view but we were just staying one night before our flight the next day. Bellman helped us book a shuttle for Pearl Harbor in the morning (which I highly recommend). I was moved to tears - especially upon meeting a survivor. There is a diner on the corner and several buffets...but just around the corner found us in front of Chiba-ken Sushi. Great little place where we had a delightful dinner well under budget!
