"Good Location but lacking Maintenance"
We've stayed here before and the room was adequate. This time the room was in the older section, smelled like mildew, had obvious water damage in bathroom - vanity buckled on bottom and door bottom was damaged. Could use new carpet - hallway and room was dirty and hall was loose. One chair had large spot on it. Wanted to tell desk but their service […] is very slow. New section is better. I drove to LA to take my little brother to the airport, decided to sleep here as it was close to LAX. Trying to call for service, could never get an answer on the phone, walked down to main lobby to talk to people who work there and they just passed by, were not helpful at all. They said free wifi, took three different people to find us the "new" wifi […] code finally got connected and it doesn't load YouTube or netflix, could not watch anything and If I moved my macbook it lost connection. The light wasn't working, the electricy in the room kept falling out of the plugs so we couldn't charge his iPad before the plane flight. Not recommended at all, will never return. "More of a Motel than Hotel"
Management and front desk very disorganized. I confirmed via telephone, at 5 pm, that I would be a late check in and they verbally confirmed my reservation of a double queen room would be waiting. When I arrived that evening the front desk informed me they only had a room with ONE bed. The clerk said they would locate a roll away but it could take some […] time. It's now midnight and I asked to speak with the manager. While I was standing there, the "night manager" walked past the desk and out the front door. I only knew this because the clerk said "there goes the manager" and I would have to wait another 30 min to talk to him. The pictures on the website do not reflect the disrepair of this hotel. Although the bathrooms were clean, the drains were slow (standing water in tub and sink) lots of water damage to floors and walls, filthy carpet, musty smell, OLD televisions, A/C was a joke. I'd consider this hotel more a "Motel" on old Route 66. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
When I first arrived I was harassed by the owner because I had a service dog You would think that a owner of a hotel would know the federal laws against people with disabilitys. "Hotel near LAX"
I was looking for an inexpensive hotel close to LAX for a long flight layover. The complimentary airport pickup and dropdowns were mandatory. Free Wi-Fi was advertised - it was very disappointing - good only for checking email and light browsing (did not even try anything fancy). Pickup was good - 15 minute cycle, drop-off not so good but mainly due […] to traffic - allow 30 mins to get to airport though if traffic is light then it is 5 minutes. Hotel is adequate, clean, etc. A busy hotel, check-in, check-out took a while due to numbers, prehaps time of day. Staff were curtious. A brief wander around shows there are services - fuel, supermarket, fast-food places nearby. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Joke.. Don't be fooled by the pics on the website. This place is old, smelly and in a bad location.. Rates for this place shouldn't be more than 99.00 a night.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"close to LAX"
We were treated poorly upon arrival late at night. It took almost two hours before we got rooms for which we had reservations. We had to pay to park off site about a block away from the hotel, and there is only a small area in front of the hotel in which to load/unload our car.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"In need of maintenance!"
The hotel fit my need as far as location - near LAX for my early morning departure. But, really, the hotel is need of some major maintenance. Exterior needs to be painted. The carpets in the hallways are worn and stained and the lighting is very poor making it oh so shabby and not the chic kind of shabby. Yuk! The elevator panel light was out so you […] were never really sure what floor you were going to. The room didn't have climate control. It had a dial with Low, Medium and High to control airflow but not temperature control so basically it was just blowing air. Where I come from they call this a FAN - not an a/c! And stupid details like a burnt out bulb and a hair dryer that worked intermittently was just the icing on the less than stellar cake. While the location and price were good I can't recommend this hotel. I am sure there are better options near LAX. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"I can get better for less $$$$$"
The pictures the website posted does not come close to what I actually stayed in. Every time I called the Hotel I had to let it ring about 30xs before someone answered. "not my best experience to say the least"
The hotels location is great and the staff was actually very friendly for the most part. What was NOT good was everything else. Rooms were EXTREMELY hot, A/C did not seem to function properly even though I was moved to a couple of different rooms. The elevator smelled AWFUL! "Great Location but Much Needed Upgrade to Hotel"
It was perfectly located near the business I was working with and our clients; however, the towers of rooms and parking lot weren't convenient. It felt like Vegas in having to do a long walk just to get to the car. Plus doing it in heels while lugging my laptop and paperwork. No valet gave me no other option. The hotel is extremely dated. We arrived at the Hotel the check in process went smooth. This Hotel has some nice sitting areas. We got to the elevator and that thing was a little sketchy to say the least. Our room was very, very clean but the walls looked like a two year old had done the patch work. The carpet used for the wall boarder was peeling away. The closet door didn't close […] all the way as well but as I mentioned before at least it was very clean. My wife didn't get a good nights rest. She complained about the mattress and noise from the worker in the morning. We were only staying the night but we felt we were paying too much for this room. At first checking in took quite a long time. Once at our room it smelled of musky stale dusty and dirty carpet. Hair balls in the restroom. Staff did move us immediately upon our request. Second room was better but had dirty tissues in the ice bucket so we were promptly moved to our third room which was acceptable. The manager on duty was outstanding […] and all staff were cordial and friendly. We did not like that there was a sign saying Any Alcoholic beverages consumed on the property must be purchased at the hotel's bar. That sign is in poor taste. Checking out took almost 40 minutes. The room was small but I was traveling alone so it was ok. My room was clean but an awful musty smell. Had to turn a/c on high just to try to get rid of smell. Almost mold like. Mattress […] was older & could have been better. Phone system went out & I received no wake up call. I had a back up alarm, however. Close to airport & shuttle service. "A step into the past that was worthwhile"
It was good, very good for an old hotel with real character and charm.. I would stay at La Hacienda again. I really appreciated the 4 AM wake-up call!. I was worried. The front desk was so busy with groups, youth groups, you name it. it was a crowded weekend. But I got the call in the morning and made my LAX flight. I liked the restaurant Mariposa. […] The chicken soup was excellent. The flounder was okay and the fresh vegetables were excellent-- not overcooked. Great! The swimming pool is a bit out of the way, so I didn't have time to swim. And I usually do when I stay at a California hotel. But that was okay. I needed an overnight before an early morning flight. I often do this after staying with family (I grew up in L.A. and have many cousins.) The television worked! The shower was a little noisy, like a monster in the wall. But the faucets turned off and sealed off dripping water. That's important! It doesn't waste water during this severe drought. Long live Californians. We will solve this water crisis. Tell your politicians to STUDY Israel, that lives 80% on recycling, converted sea salt water. I think the statistics are something like that high. You have the Pacific Ocean. Use it! Busy reception area. Hotel staff that greeted us was nice. Had to pay to park the car on their lot.. the big deal was the AC in the room. Since its an old hotel, they run a ventilation type AC which means someone else sets the temperature.. all you can do is vary a fan control on the wall. The room and hallway smelled humid/damp. Needless to say, the […] temperature was set above ambient outside. So we slept with the doors to the balcony open, it was in the upper 60's so no big deal kept the street noise. Not use to not having an AC I can control in the room. The drain on the shower didn't drain. Toilet was slow. Again old building and short on maintenance. TV set in room was also 20 years old. "Hacienda Hotel is Filthy, Nasty, needs update"
The carpet was filthy. Someone had showered and left hairs in bath tub. When I got there it looked like someone had been in there on bed and showered left a bunch of hairs. They were sold out and I needed to be there a few hours before flight. I had to change rooms 3 times. Old TV's, smelly. I was able to print boarding pass. I won't ever stay here. […] Nasty old hotel it should not be on Hotels.com I didn't like. The Shuttle Bus driver was nice but I took a cab because I didn't have time to wait on all those people to get on bus it was a short trip. South Tower is better then West. I basically switched from West to South. But it was just as bad the numbers on elevator don't match the room numbers. LIke on Elevator your room may be 2300 but that meant you go to 3rd floor. WTH? "ok not great"
It was sufficient. Just a place to stay for the two nights we were in LA. It was an old hotel with a lot of signs of wear and tear. But all we really needed was a place to sleep. From the moment we arrived it was a let down. The line was long for check-in, and that's not that unusual for a busy hotel, but what made it worse was the girl behind the counter taking 20-minutes to flirt with the guys she was checking in. Then I get to my room and find out there's no temperature control. Yup. No temperature control!! The entire hotel […] is on ONE TEMPERATURE SETTING for the entire hotel!! So in your room, you only have the option of having the air on, or off. And if you're staying in the summertime and the evening is chilly, and you would like to warm up your room because your 3-year old and 4-year old are getting over colds, well, too bad! There were other little things like when I got to the fitness room, I called them to ask for more towels because they were out, but they never brought them. But the worst part is that I sent a complaint to the hotel about my stay, and they NEVER RESPONDED. I'm actually writing this review weeks after our stay, and have still not received a response. However, there was one good thing that came out of this. I discovered that Hotels.com is truly concerned with their customers. I sent the same email to Hotels.com that I sent to the Hacienda Hotel, and Hotels.com responded right away. They apologized for the hotel's poor service and extended a nice discount for my next booking through them. Now that's customer service! Kudos to you Hotels.com!!!! Awful beds Old rooms Great location Horrible parking lotGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I was very surprised and disappointed by this hotel. By the great reviews, I would have expected better rooms. The lobby, courtyard and pool is nice. But the rooms in the main tower is very old. "Like this hotel, but a few gripes"
I always stay here when I come in to LA - I like how close it is to the airport and freeway. However, it is in serious need of updating and more front desk staff. Plan on waiting in a long line every time you need to visit the front desk, no matter what time of day it is. They really need to hire more people to man the check in. You can tell the hotel […] itself is old and a lot of the rooms and hallways desperately need some renovating. With that said, it is always a pleasant stay and I always go back. We used the Hacienda twice for overnight stays in LA as a break before connecting flights. To rest after our long flight from Sydney Australia and prior to our long flight returning home. "Nice place for a stay"
I like the Hacienda mostly because of its friendly staff. "Meh...it was alright"
Well, it's not the cleanest, nicest, quietest, or most updated, but it did the job. I stayed just one night, and that because of it's proximity to LAX. And it was one of the cheaper ones right there close in to the airport. Decor in the room, furniture, and even the TV were older. The room was reasonably clean, but obviously well-worn which just leaves […] a little bit of a dirty feel. The lobby was chaotic when I was checking in. Line was a good 8+ customers deep waiting. And many of them were foreign travelers presumably just arrived or about to depart for their international flights, with lots of luggage stacked and scattered around, many languages being spoken, and a lot of confusion. Sort of felt like I was in some busy, foreign train station. And it just kind of had that transient, not-worn-out-but-wearing-out, clean-on-the-surface-but-dingy-from-use feel. Still, there was nothing really wrong with it. So honestly, as long as it was one of the cheaper options, and I wanted an easy location for an early morning flight out, I'd probably stay there again. "Totally Fine But Not A Favorite"
I booked this for a last-minute business trip (non-profit = small travel budget), aiming for the best of the low-cost airport hotels near LAX. That's what I got: my room was clean, but I wouldn't really call it comfortable, just very basic with low-grade bed, sheets, furniture, etc. Didn't sleep that well. The room was a bit of a hike from the lobby. […] Overall totally fine, but I'm not looking forward to another visit. The fitness center, while small and bare-bones, was a real plus for me.
