"Overall, a great experience!"
Went to D.C for the weekend of 12/5/14 to visit friends. Booked this hotel last minute for a great price, and couldn't be more pleased. Location was great, room was clean, service was great, and the free breakfast was excellent! Only downfall was the parking, which seems to be the norm downtown. The only option was valet, and seemed way too expensive. […] Fortunately we were able to leave our car in our friends' garage for the weekend. We would definitely stay here again! "Nice hotel for the Price"
The hotel was nice for the price, but I wouldnt have stayed for a prolonged period of time.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
When we arrived at the hotel curbside valet it was pouring down rain and they informed us that the valet lot was full so we had to find a place to park on the street which was several blocks away and in the pouring rain. I don't understand how a valet lot can be full if you a lot one space per room I was very disappointed and I would not go back ag […] ain Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"A fun girl trip"
One of the most comfortable beds I ever slept in! We liked being in Chinatown and also convenient to the train station and sights. Expensive parking, but we came on the train, so that didn't affect us. Very good and varied breakfast.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"We had a fabulous stay."
When we arrived about an hour before check in we were immediately given our room. Our room was spotless and well decorated. Beds were comfortable & pillows were soft. Located in Chinatown close to everything 3 blocks from the Smithsonian Portrait Gallery & International Spy Museum 6 blocks from National Mall 1 block from the Gallery Place Metro Station. […] Security was good need a key card to take the elevator as well as entry into the lobby after 10 pm. Breakfast was okay it was filling & the staff was there to help you find things or take your tray. The only reason I gave the neighborhood rating a 4 is heavy foot traffic. We noticed most of the people walking looked very relaxed. Several times when outside smoking, people stopped & asked for a cigarette. There is a restaurant in the hotel called Irish Channel. Food was delicious, only warning drink prices are awful; 4 shots totaled 30. After that we went to the liquor store a 1/2 block away. Taking a car prepare to pay $30/night. We took a train to Union Station about a $7 cab trip to hotel & used the Metro Line to get around town we know traffic & parking is absurd in DC. Staff was wonderful, courteous & friendly, always smiling & anything you need. At check out we had several hours before our train, staff was happy to check our bags so we could site see more then called us a cab back to Union Station. Would definitely stay again. "Clean, comfortable, convenient"
The hotel was clean. The customer service was well above average. The breakfast was a bit limited in comparison, but there were enough options for the weary traveler. It was well located for my purposes.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great service and location in DC, can't beat it!"
Our original hotel did not have a room with 2 doubles beds as we had reserved (Washington DC Marriott Georgetown), so we got a room at the last minute at the Fairfield Inn and Suites in downtown DC (near Chinatown) and couldn't have been more pleased. The people were tremendous from the front desk to the valet to the breakfast staff. They were friendly […] and helpful. We got a much better rate and really enjoyed the free full breakfast. I shared a bed with my teenage daughter which can often spell disaster, but both mom and daughter slept very well for 3 nights. Also a great location, safe for walking at night with plenty to do within blocks. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Nice hotel- clean with friendly staff. Breakfast was always well stocked. Only downside was the expensive parking.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to Verizon Center"
We chose Fairfield Inn because of its location. We were within walking distance of the Metro, Verizon Center and the Smithsonian Museum. A perfect choice for site-seeing. Staff was friendly, although my girlfriend and I submitted to a room search when the staff thought we were smoking even though neither one of us smoked. But outside of that experience, […] the stay was a pleasant one. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Good place for short stay"
Small room. Location and breakfast was good. Attached bar area is nice. Parking garage on 6th st at H street was only a short walk and cheaper than hotel valet parking. Nice place and no complaints overall.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great time with a few negative items."
I was very disappointed with the heating and cooling system in the room. I had to get out of bed in the night several times to turn the temperature back down to where I had set it. I also had to turn the fan back to on too as it would change itself to auto. The light in the shower was missing the cover also.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
My stay at this hotel was "okay." It was clean enough and generally comfortable. However, as is too often the case, the walls and doors are very thin, making it possible to hear everything in the hallway and neighboring rooms. Bring ear plugs when staying at this hotel. I stayed in an ADA room, which was fine, but I wished for a shelf by the bathroom […] sink; the sink in the room had no surface for holding my toiletries. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Love this hotel. It is close to everything I need. Plus, it's in a great neighborhood with plenty of food options. Not happy with room service. It is treated like "an afterthought". Brought me a Coke in a bottle with no opener. Not good in the middle of the night. But the location is awesome so I will stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The ONLY negative comment is about parking. It was difficult to find a place to park...and ALSO difficult to get valet service. Otherwise the hotel and staff were OUTSTANDING!!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

We got to the Fairfield Inn quite early, way before check in time. The people at the front desk were gracious enough to let us check in. They were very nice. The room as another story. The room was a little bit small, but very clean. I felt safe knowing that elevators are only accessed with key-cards. The location was convenient for the purpose of the trip. Excellent location in Chinatown area. Near a Metro. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. We received free breakfast with our stay which was better than expected. "Good room even though it was not what I booked"
The room was clean and suitable. The one issue was staff said when booking through third party my room select is not guaranteed. They tried to sell me on I was being upgraded from two beds to king bed suite which is actually the lower cost value. "I need assistance and I received it."
I had a medical emergency. My step daughter called the front desk requesting if they had a wheelchair available. She told the front desk person what was going on and I needed it so I could be taken downstairs and out to the street for a cab ride to the hospital. A couple of minutes went by and suddenly the was a knock on the door and there he was with […] a wheelchair. He rolled me out to the elevator, downstairs to the lobby and out to the street where he flagged down a cab. He did say that he could call the EMT's but we told him no. He then wanted to get us a ride over to the hospital by one of the staff but that person was busy . He was so helpful. I stayed at the emergency room for 5 hours and was released. The next afternoon I saw this person and he was so happy to see me back at the hotel. He said he was worried about me and I believe he was. He went beyond what was expected of him. I am sorry I did not get his name. Below is the date and time of this emergency. I did thank him for what he did. This happened on Tuesday night Aug 5th around 9:45PM. Tom Walsh. "Attention to personal comfort"
My stay here was a leap beyond anything I could have anticipated. Having stayed the night previous at the J.W. Marriot, I was literally overwhelmed by Fairfield Inn & Suites' exemplary attention to client comfort and cleanliness. Their bath and bed linens by far exceeded those at the Marriot and the staff was prompt (within a minute?) to take care of […] one minor concern I had. Breakfast blew the competition out of the race. Fresh fruit, oatmeal with walnuts, cinnamon, brown sugar,... eggs scrambled to perfection with melted cheese, delicious sausages and coffee and juice. I was in buffet heaven. Would I recommend the Fairfield Inn & Suites to anyone visiting Washington, D.C.?,... not if you think you'll be wanting to leave that hotel to find anything better !!! "Great hotel for sightseeing!"
The hotel was super clean, the staff very smiley and helpful. Our room on the fifth floor was a corner room and very comfortable. I'm a stickler about a clean bathroom and it was perfect! The room was very quiet at night although it was in Chinatown that had a lot of restaurants - another plus. The attached restaurant had great food - a quick dinner […] after a long day of touring the museums. My only complaint was the dining area for the complimentary breakfast - way too small. Not enough room for a hotel that size for everyone to get their food and then sit down. But the food was plentiful and good. FYI - the price of valet parking on hotel description is less than it actually is. Very convenient to leave the car for the weekend - however there were a lot of parking garages in the area that offered parking for Saturday and Sunday for less than one night of valet. I would stay here again and would recommend to family & friends. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
