"Good place for short stay"
Small room. Location and breakfast was good. Attached bar area is nice. Parking garage on 6th st at H street was only a short walk and cheaper than hotel valet parking. Nice place and no complaints overall.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel & staff"
Absolutely wonderful hotel all around. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again & again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Pretty close to the Chinatown and the MTA subway station. Room is equipped for a whole family (2 qunee beds), very clean and the decorations look like new ones.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great time with a few negative items."
I was very disappointed with the heating and cooling system in the room. I had to get out of bed in the night several times to turn the temperature back down to where I had set it. I also had to turn the fan back to on too as it would change itself to auto. The light in the shower was missing the cover also.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
My stay at this hotel was "okay." It was clean enough and generally comfortable. However, as is too often the case, the walls and doors are very thin, making it possible to hear everything in the hallway and neighboring rooms. Bring ear plugs when staying at this hotel. I stayed in an ADA room, which was fine, but I wished for a shelf by the bathroom […] sink; the sink in the room had no surface for holding my toiletries. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Love this hotel. It is close to everything I need. Plus, it's in a great neighborhood with plenty of food options. Not happy with room service. It is treated like "an afterthought". Brought me a Coke in a bottle with no opener. Not good in the middle of the night. But the location is awesome so I will stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The ONLY negative comment is about parking. It was difficult to find a place to park...and ALSO difficult to get valet service. Otherwise the hotel and staff were OUTSTANDING!!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

I was only traveling on business for two days, but very happy I chose the Fairfield, The employees help make your stay pleasurable. From the Front Desk, Housekeeping, breakfast area, and maintenance. The employees would welcome you each time you returned back to the hotel and answered all questions professionally and in a friendly manner. Also a big […] thank you for referring Hana, the limo driver, she made a long trip back to the airport so pleasurable. She was so professional, helpful, and very friendly. "Two days in Washington"
We got to the Fairfield Inn quite early, way before check in time. The people at the front desk were gracious enough to let us check in. They were very nice. The room as another story. As soon we got in, the toilet didn't work. I called down and they immediately had someone come up who said the fixed it. He did not. The room was tiny, not great. But […] the location was great and had access to everywhere we'd want to go! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Ideal for Verizon Center"
The staff was friendly and helpful. We stayed their the night of a Concert at the Verizon Center. Made the whole experience that much better.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"The night before our tour"
The room was a little bit small, but very clean. I felt safe knowing that elevators are only accessed with key-cards. The location was convenient for the purpose of the trip. Willard Marriott should be very proud that his philosophy is still being carried on as one of my favorite quotes from him is " "Treat your employees the way you would like to be […] treated." Excellent location in Chinatown area. Near a Metro. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. We received free breakfast with our stay which was better than expected. It was a full breakfast versus just coffee and pastries. We had free Wi-Fi. The room and amenities were well worth the cost.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good room even though it was not what I booked"
The room was clean and suitable. The one issue was staff said when booking through third party my room select is not guaranteed. They tried to sell me on I was being upgraded from two beds to king bed suite which is actually the lower cost value. Hotels.com was awesome and processing the refund difference.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We had a good overnight stay for next day sight seeing in DC. Walkable to many attractions. The staffs were friendly. Free breakfast. Parking is too expensive. Overall we had good stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Washington, DC/Downtown Thank you for choosing the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Washington, DC Downtown. After reading your comments, I am so happy to hear that our hotel, amenities and staff provided a great stay. We are very proud of our team, hotel and proximity to all that is the Capital City. Please make us your hotel of choice here in Washington.
Don't get a small king room... it's SMALL, like DC style small... but we didn't care as it was a night away from the kids. Really friendly staff and good breakfast! Great location just a block or two from subway.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Attention to personal comfort"
My stay here was a leap beyond anything I could have anticipated. Having stayed the night previous at the J.W. Marriot, I was literally overwhelmed by Fairfield Inn & Suites' exemplary attention to client comfort and cleanliness. Their bath and bed linens by far exceeded those at the Marriot and the staff was prompt (within a minute?) to take care of […] one minor concern I had. Breakfast blew the competition out of the race. Fresh fruit, oatmeal with walnuts, cinnamon, brown sugar,... eggs scrambled to perfection with melted cheese, delicious sausages and coffee and juice. I was in buffet heaven. Would I recommend the Fairfield Inn & Suites to anyone visiting Washington, D.C.?,... not if you think you'll be wanting to leave that hotel to find anything better !!! "Great hotel for sightseeing!"
The hotel was super clean, the staff very smiley and helpful. Our room on the fifth floor was a corner room and very comfortable. I'm a stickler about a clean bathroom and it was perfect! The room was very quiet at night although it was in Chinatown that had a lot of restaurants - another plus. The attached restaurant had great food - a quick dinner […] after a long day of touring the museums. My only complaint was the dining area for the complimentary breakfast - way too small. Not enough room for a hotel that size for everyone to get their food and then sit down. But the food was plentiful and good. FYI - the price of valet parking on hotel description is less than it actually is. Very convenient to leave the car for the weekend - however there were a lot of parking garages in the area that offered parking for Saturday and Sunday for less than one night of valet. I would stay here again and would recommend to family & friends. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Awesome place to stay"
The employees were super friendly, it's walking distance to China town and the metro, it's clean, and there is an Irish Pub on the first floor. What more could you ask for??Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great service, small room"
Front desk staff exceptionally friendly and helpful, e.g. in resolving a problem with a slow toilet and in booking airport transportation. The location was excellent for us since I was attending an event at the Convention Center, about 5 minutes walk away. "I chose the perfect place to stay for my DC visit"
I have never enjoyed a hotel as friendly and never felt so welcome. More important, I have never received hugs, upon leaving, from hotel staff members. I was perfect and when I return on future visits I WILL stay here and enjoy it again.Genuine Expedia guest review
Great staff in every level. They make sure there was no inconvenience during our stay whole staying with our 2 year old.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very close each land mark exp. White house,Smithsonian museums etc.Genuine Expedia guest review
It is in the china town, which is 20 minutes walk to the White House area. There are also many good restrants near it. The breakfast is very good and the staff is very nice. Strongly recommend it!Genuine Expedia guest review
I stayed for 5 nights. Room was clean and comfortable. My room overlooked H Street. I was not bothered by any noise and slept well. Breakfast was good. Some mornings it was crowded, but not unreasonable. All staff was polite to me at all times. I would stay here again and would recommend it highly.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Experience a great part of DC"
I thought the location is the best feature. honestly nothing too special about the room. I was thinking there would be a mini fridge in the room. But it was very clean and very nice otherwise. "Nice hotel near where my daughter lives"
Nice location. Good staff. However, when I asked to have my room ready early (in a couple of hours), I was assured it would be done. When we arrived back 2 hours later, it was not done. We were trying to get ready for a function, however, that is when the housekeeping wanted to clean our room. Not the best with communication. Breakfast was good. Not […] the best at getting taxis early in the morning. Had an early flight and wanted a cab at 5 am. Instead of calling for a cab, two of the hotel staff stood on corners to hail a cab. To their credit we did get one with 15-20 minutes. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Decent and relatively inexpensive"
Convenient location in the Chinatown area of DC. It's a part of town that's a little run down, but the hotel is convenient to the Metro and the Mall. A good value in an expensive city.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice and well-located"
Nice hotel. Small room for the high price, but sufficient. I was placed on the 2nd floor and the street noise was extremely loud.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Couldn't move around without bumping into something. Closet space was comical. Reminded me of most NY hotels. Had to constantly adjust thermostat to keep the AC from stopping even though it was set on auto.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Washington, DC/Downtown Dear Nygeno59, Thank you for your feedback. We apologize that you were not completely satisfied with your room at the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott, Washington DC/Downtown. Your satisfaction is very important to us and we strive to ensure all of our guests receive the experience they deserve. Since we are in an urban market some of our rooms are smaller, so I would suggest reserving an Executive King room the next time you visit. This room type provides more space with a sofa and coffee table to spread out and relax. We hope you will consider us the next time you visit Washington, DC!
We came in for a quick business event and even quicker site seeing. Fairfield Marriott in Chinatown was a perfect location. Close enough to everything that we wanted to see. If we got a little tired, the subway was always close enough to jump on.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Fairfield - "reasonable" for D.C. prices"
Suitable for business or family. Expensive, but "average" for D.C.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The location was close to downtown and easy access to the metro. Staff was very helpful. With the good location the hotel was busy with visitors but never felt that way!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close by the National Mall"
Its good location in Chinatown with the supermarket and Metro station nearby. Its also close walk to the National Mall with all the museums. But the room we stayed in was facing the elevator. So every time someone uses it, it dings once it opens its doors and dings again when it closes its doors. The walls are very thin as we can hear that as well as […] the people walking in the hallways. We were also close by the icemaker in the hotel and the hotel was close by the church. The clock strikes every hour (especially since we stayed over Easter Sunday). Overall, lots of noises so our party didn't get any restful sleep. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Location is their best amenity"
When I pulled into valet parking, no one came to my vehicle. After walking around the corner and down the street, I finally found a valet. Unfortunately, they had no more parking spots so I was told to find my own parking. Once I got into my room, I was surprised how small the room was. I paid almost $300 for a room with a king size bed and there was […] barely enough room to get into the bed. The pictures shown would make a customer think they were getting a nice sized room. This room had the bed in it and that was it. I literally had to turn sideways to get between the bed and the wall. I was very disappointed. The room was not very clean either. I was able to write my name in the dust. The "complimentary" lotion in the bathroom had been used before and was almost empty. As for the staff, they were not the best either. I went to purchase a drink from the store. When I went to the front desk to pay for the drink, no one would wait on me. There were two staff members chatting about personal issues who just ignored me. They had just finished eating pizza and their leftovers and box were laying on the counter. Finally, I woman who had been cleaning up the lobby area came and helped me. It only took ten minutes for me to get my drink. I could have taken the drink and the two staff members would not have cared. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Loved this Hotel!"
As we approached the Fairfield Inn DC, I was a little concerned about the location. As it turned out, it was convenient to the Mall and other attractions.
