"Good for the price"
Friend had a wedding at the venue across the street. Very convenient location. Didn't like that they gave me everything in Spanish when I first arrived. Not exactly helpful when trying to check in, but very nice at later times.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Run Down/ Great Location"
The location of this hotel is great. It is close to restaurants, bars, and El Paso Chihuahaus games... That being said I found the hotel to be less than desirable. I found it to have the following issues: broken hair dryer, broken iron, poor hot water out of the shower, not enough power outlets (not next to the work desk), bathroom tiles and grout had […] visible dirt/grime stains, poor internet service, and a 20 year old TV that showed more fuzz than picture. "If you want fancy this is not the place"
If you want fancy this is not the place. If you do want more of a historic place to stay then it will be perfect for you.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This place is dirty! Way over priced for what you get. The room was really not clean and old. The top of the night stand had rings of other people drinks all over it. I doubt it's been cleaned in years. Gross. The beds was horrible with coils poking through. They need to be replace. The bathroom was old and really dirty. That needs to be gutted and […] updated. All the carpet in the entire place needs replaced. The huge old bar area off the lobby was beautiful. Then they ruined that with a Mexican woman singing with a multi colored strobe light. Tacky. No class for what that area represented as history of the hotel. Should have had a classy piano or jazz group playing. I can't believe I had to pay $150 for 1 night at this dump. And they said there was secured garage parking....... It was garaged not secure. No gate. Anyone could drive in and out any time. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Camino Real Still Not Bad"
With all the revitalization going on in downtown the Camino Real is situated in an ideal location. The place is still a premier place to stay the buffet was pretty good although a little pricey and the bar was a very happening place. The only complaint would be that the room round use a little bit of a makeover or investment. A little surprised to see […] an old tv and not an HD TV in the room. Beds were also a little small, full instead of queens. Overall the stay was enjoyable. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Most of the staff was uninformed..."
It was only fair...Staff could not answer questions about El Paso or the surrounding area...Room was good. beds were firm, A/C worked well in 100 degree heat. Maid only left one hand towel for two adults...we had to leave a written message in Spanish to have more the next night...Lots of noise from very loud band in the Bar...English speaking staff […] was at a minimum... "Good hotel on a budget"
Hotel is nice. Rooms need a bit of updating, no hot water in the shower the whole 4 days we were there. It's a good location and price. If you have an oversized vehicle I wouldn't recommend, you can't park in the garage and street parking is expensive.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Near the Plaza Theater and Baseball field"
Aside from being close to the places I needed to be, I disliked the room. The air conditioner made A LOT of noise as if it were about to break. The bathroom sink was clogged, which they claimed was fixed but I ended up having to used one of my hangers to unclogged myself. The only reason I stayed at this hotel was because of the wedding being right […] across the street made it very convenient. Otherwise, I would have stayed at the Doubletree. This Historical Hotel is absolutely the Most beautiful in all of the Southwest. The view at night is splendid, from the room, to the Stairway, to the lighted waterfall. Only two problems; the television was horrible, reception, size, and very few channels. The other problem was service in certain areas. I felt a bit snubbed by a few staff members. Over […] all, I would stay there again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great historic building"
We loved staying at this hotel. They have a wonderful Dome Bar, a formal resteraunt and a less formal resteraunt. We'll worth the price and close to sidewalk shopping.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not as good as usual"
No hand towels. Only one lamp. Requested refrigerator not delivered. Room upgrade not available.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
There was a lot of noise coming from outside at night. Hotel room was suppose to have a flat screen tv ended up with an old school tv then to top it off the remote control had no battery. The person from the front desk told us continental breakfast was at 6 am next morning go to breakfast at 6 am and a different front desk tells us it's at 7. Continental […] breakfast was very small only cereal and small amt of fruit available, my husband and I are athletes and were expecting a better selection at least in food like other hotels. At least some oatmeal or eggs the selection was worse than an elementary school cafeteria breakfast.. If I would've known we wouldn't have waited for breakfast there and would've ate somewhere else for some real breakfast. Never staying here again this hotel need to be updated even the mattress felt old. I usually stay at holiday inn express but decided to stay here since it's suppose to be a "nice" hotel.. We were expecting it a lot nicer than what it was. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
There are very limited choices for hotel accommodations downtown and the prices are usually quite high. But I found a great rate under $80 with Camino Real and it was great value. The it is an older hotel it is elegant and modern. It's location is great in the heart of downtown. The staff was very friendly both upon my arrival late at night and early […] morning when I left. The only complaint is that it is time for an upgrade on their TVs from the old box style TVs to a flat screen. Other than that, this place had excellent value. A four star feel for a three star price. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
House keeping knocked on my door EVERY morning at 8 am to ask if I would need housekeeping that day. Front desk was very un-knowledgeable of the local area. I asked if there were any local spas or salons, nobody knew of any. One member of the bar staff was extremely rude and put out when I asked for a food menu. The menus were stored next to her register […] and she flung it at me. Ordered room service and sat the food tray outside my door after I had finished my meal. The next day ordered again and placed the 2nd tray next to the 1st one that was still there. It begun to stink before they picked it up. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Very charming experience! Quiet and relaxing! I personally like old buildings and their history, so this is a great hotel to experience!Genuine Expedia guest review
"A hotel with personality"
The hotel building has personality and it is worth visiting. It is located in the heart of El Paso walking distance from the Convention Center, museums, shops and theaters. The bar lounge has an amazing stained glass dome with a 1930' flair. The rooms are ample, well furnished with nice linens. However the whole hotel is in need of some updating (carpets), […] some of the bathroom fixtures were leaking and the marble has lost its gloss. The front desk people were very helpful when I realized I had made a mistake in my booking and they exchanged it for what I needed. The "La Huerta" restaurant has a nice menu and serves food until midnight. Underground Parking is available. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Old and unkept"
It's a real shame that this hotel is in the condition it is. It has so much potential because of its history and age. The bathroom tile was the nastiest I've ever seen. My shower had no cold water only scalding hot and both the sink and shower constantly ran (dripped loudly) Bed was comfy and staff was really nice. But the bathrooms need to be renovated! "Old and unkept"
Rooms are bad...like stepping into 1970. No tile on bathrooms floors, old sinks and fixtures, no stopper in the sink. There was no duvet cover on the bed, just the white insert part. Rooms are ugly!!! I would not stay here again. We booked at the day the of our stay, so the price was double. I expected a nicer hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"To hot to handle"
The place started off well with a friendly waitress at the Dome bar but turned for the worse once we went upstairs. The bed has a deep depression in the middle that I assume are years old. Additionally, the temperature was extremely hot not just in the room we got but the whole place. I'm no Rocket-Surgeon but if it is cooler outside then in the hotel […] something has to be wrong. In the end we left the place due to the heat. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
I have stayed at this hotel since the 1950s. It is very depressing to see that it hasn't been kept up. The walls in our suite were dirty. There was a huge red stain in the carpet& the windows & window sill were very dirty. You could hardly see out of the window. The bathroom floor was dirty & we were given only one washcloth. The couch & chair were […] run over, uncomfortable, & needed to be replaced. The bottom sheet on the bed was not fitted & it came loose & wadded up in the bed. We talked to three other couples in the elevator & they were complaining also. The food in the restaurant was bad, greasy, & cold. It had been left out for hours. The meat was tough as a boot. The help was moving tables & dropping them & laughing at the noise while many people were trying to eat. It is very unnerving to try & eat breakfast while people are dropping tables on their sides on the tile floor. We would have changed hotels if we had to stay another night there. The sofas & chairs in the lobby are very run down & need to be replaced. I wish I could get my money back. I won't make the mistake of staying there again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Good hotel but to old need remodelingGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Mark from valet was great, that was the only person I came into contAct with that made me feel welcomed. Staff and ownership need to take pride in this hotel. Room was outdated. My buddy tells me the dome is worth something like 3 mil, we'll take some of that and invest it into to the hotel. In the bar u look up and its nice, then you look down and […] bar island is unorganized. Also when you serve a martini get martini glasses not 9oz cups. A little more pride in this historic establishment would do a lot for his hotel. You can really make it look beautiful, but if you don't want to put any money into it that is the reason and I understand why it looks run down. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Good hotel not so good staff"
First impression was at the front desk, and it was bad. I walked up to the front desk and they were just chatting with each other. Finally when they decided to talk to me, they didn't even greet me, just said what can I do for you. Overall everytime when I had to talk to the staff they were not friendly. "Downtown Historic Hotel with personality."
Circa 1912 dome in bar with Tiffany glass is gorgeous. Real flavor of Mexico on the border in TX. Buffet was excellent. Great weekend rate value in huge corner room on 9th floor. Property, of course, is older, but in good condition. Good van transfers from airport.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Location is great but rooms are mediocre at best"
The room had pubes all over the place. There wasn't any hot water when I took a shower in the am. Told the front desk and the best they could do is, "sorry, I'll send someone to check it out" I hope your Spanish is decent, the staff barely speaks English.Genuine Expedia guest review

Horrible. I was expecting to relax and enjoy an executive suite and I ended up in what I considered a cheap room in a third world country. The room was clean but in very poor condition. I expected more considering the cost of this hotel, the bed was hard as rock, the AC didn't work very well, the room was extremely humid. We only stayed here so we wouldn't have to drive home after an event. I think I'll book a room down the way next time.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Complimentary breakfast a bust!"
The complimentary breakfast when getting the executive suite is not a breakfast at all. All that is placed in the lounge is a few pieces of sweet bread, orange juice, coffee, boxed cereal and one plate of fruit. I have stayed at many nice hotels which offered a real complimentary breakfast and when I saw the breakfast for this hotel I was shocked; I […] did not expect this from a hotel like this.
