Our first room we didn't like the staff was friendly and moved us to a much better room.

The rooms are spread out over 25 acres and all set by either one or two. Lots of green grass and trees. Outside pool and sunken tennis courts. In the room is open beam high ceiling, nice! The bed was very comfortable with lots of high quality pillows and a down comforter. It is a big room and a nice big tv w cable. We only paid $59.00, plus the county […] has a hotel tax now, so add on another $20. It was worth every penny. I enjoyed my stay and really enjoyed how quite the community was. I would recommend the Main Pool area be cleaned after it close at midnight, so the next morning there's no dirty towels, cups and floating devices left in the pool; besides that, I was pleased. The rooms are older but have a homey feel, which makes it so worth while.

Overall good place to stay if you looking for quiet room/casita. The grounds are immaculate, we did not use the pool area which looked good, the grounds are great for walking and relaxing.

Due to recurrent medical care, we again stayed at cottonwood resorts. The hotel is older, but has been well maintained. I only wish there was room service available. I really hate the exhaust fan in the bathroom that comes on when you turn on the light. Finding the ice machine was an adventure, but finally we did. Overall it was an okay stay. I expected more but was disappointed. The beds were too small, the tv's were old and small, and there weren't many channels to choose from. I thought I was charged everything at hotels.com but at check out I had to pay for more charges. I've had better experiences at 3star hotels.

I enjoyed my first trip to Scottsdale AZ. The Cottonwoods Resort was so relaxing with their individual suites (that reminded me of little cabins in the desert), beautiful scenery and pool/ hot tub. I loved having our own personal space in our suite and being so close to pool and stores at the same time.

I had an issue with noise in the communal pool area surrounding my room that the staff did eventually accommodate with a refund after a bit of a struggle with the manager. I did not appreciate the unlisted surprise $15 resort fee, bringing the grand total for the room to around $100. Overall though, it's a nice hotel with a nice property. It was not […] worth $100/night to me though and did not have the appearance of a bonfide resort to me. I can't say I'd recommend avoiding this hotel because it's charming and clean and nice, but I'd just advise checking it out before you make a reservation with them to see if it's worth it to you. I imagine a lot of people are happy guests here, but the noise was too much in my particular room on my particular night (they said it was a wedding party). Reviews prepared me for exactly what I got. The location of the resort was fantastic with lots of restaurants and shops nearby. The grounds were BEAUTIFUL!!! The pool was a big hit with the family. It was so nice having food and drinks available when at the pool and not having to drive to get something. The room itself was dated just as I read from […] many other reviews. The room had a strange smell when we entered, but after airing the room a little it was not noticed. Our friends had a dirty toilet brush laying on the ground outside their door on arrival. We had a good laugh and just moved on. We got a really good deal on the hotel so I felt it was worth every penny we paid. Aside from dealing with the front desk, it was a great stay. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE PROOF OF YOUR RESERVATION EITHER BY E-MAIL OR PRINTED. WORST PART OF OUR STAY WAS DEALING WITH TWO DIFFERENT CLERKS WHO HAD THE RESERVATION WRONG. WE WERE EVEN LOCKED OUT OF OUR ROOM. I WILL SPARE THE DETAILS, BUT YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! :) I read they were going to start renovating sometime this year. I think thats great, but I'm sure it will be reflected in the prices though. This affordable resort is a gem in the middle of a very expensive town. This is a great resort for its price, not fancy or super new, but a relaxing place at a very affordable price. Super close to great restaurants and old Scottsdale. Friendly service and a perfect place for dogs. Lots of space and areas for them to run and play.

Have stayed there numerous times. Older property, but in nice condition. Don't like the $15/day "resort fee" for two bottles of water and wireless internet. It's 2013 catch up, everyone has free Wi-FI.

The property had a certain southwest charm and the rooms were spacious but on the whole the place was dated. Calling it a resort is a stretch because there aren't really many amenities - especially the pool, which is very rundown contrary to the pictures. Poor landscaping, murky water and a disgusting cabana bar with horrible service. (Good beer selection […] though). They let my wife and son's food sit out in the sun for 30 minutes, said they forgot about it and still served it to them. We tried the restaurant for breakfast and waited 5 minutes to see a hostess although the place was empty and after ordering coffee... Waited... Waited... Waited. Nothing. Left to a great place across the street called the Good Egg. The general staff was friendly if not always helpful. Could have been nice but I doubt we will visit again. Read more

Great location. Gave me a free upgrade to a huge apartment like suite. Reasonable price but this place is seriously due for an upgrade. Old and outdated for sure. Would consider this a three star property at best. Lacking in classy, aged grandeur. There is a reason this property is priced so cheap!!!!!

Great location and surroundings. The layout of the resort is fantastic. However the rooms/pool need some serious updating. If you like having your own space rather than just your own room in a hallway, buy a glade plug in and make this your stay. ...and hope for a remodel in the near future.

The location and grounds of the hotel are fantastic. We loved the pool and other amenities. The exterior of the hotel throughout the complex is very nice. However, the hotel rooms themselves are old and need remodeled. There was an old smell in the rooms that was unappealing.

The design of the hotel allows for a bit more privacy than a typical hotel since there are a number of smaller suites dispersed throughout the property rather than one large building with all the rooms. Booked this for a quick overnight spring break trip with my kids...wanted to be near Dbacks spring training field. The grounds are lovely and the pool area was very nice. I am a idiot for seeing the name and thinking it was a resort. I have stayed at Motel 6's that are nicer than this place. It smells so bad. The rooms look like old run down studio apartments. It sucks here. Please change your reservation as soon as possible. I made such a horrible mistake staying here.
