We stayed here on a particularly busy night, and there were a few hiccups in our stay, but overall we had a thoroughly enjoyable time! Our room was very spacious and well-equipped, the view from our window was nice, and the bed was wonderful! Climate control proved difficult to figure out; fortunately, it was one of the few cold days in Houston so we just snuggled up under the heavy comforter and kept warm. Upon arrival, we were informed our room wasn't ready yet, and we had to wait about twenty minutes while they put it together, so that was inconvenient. Also, two of the four lobby elevators weren't working, and since it was a busy night that led to some uncomfortable frustration. A gentleman standing in line waiting with us said the other two elevators were out of service "every year." (He was a coach who came to the hotel for the same tournament every year) I have no way of knowing for certain if his remark was accurate, but I thought it was worth noting. Overall, though, once we got to the hotel and checked into our room, we had a wonderful, romantic evening together!

From the valet to the desk staff to the dining area personnel, everyone was friendly and went out of their way to make sure our stay at the Renaissance was special. Even the small things, like the shampoos and soaps were top of the line and the shower pressure was perfect! I have no complaints and would recommend it to anyone. It's not in a beautiful area, but it was in the location where I needed to be and it was an enjoyable and pleasant stay.

Excellent location to attend Lakewood Church, and the Galaria Mall. A great brunch also with great service. The only bad comment I could make was about the very rude lesbian bartender in the lobby lounge. She/He had no idea what she was doing, and talked to us as if we were dogs. I complained at the front desk, but it was midnight, and not much satisfaction was made available to us.

I was surprisingly pleased with the hotel. It was less than a week after Hurricane Ike and the hotel was in fairly good condition. Positives: 1. The room was very spacious, 2. The view and comfort of the room was outstanding, 3. There is an underground pavillion accessible during the week missing essentials. Negatives: 1. No room service and no hotel lobby bar (though both were unavailable solely because of the hurricane), 2. Nothing to do in the immediate area, 3. Hotel was somewhat understaff. Overall, I was there for a meeting and it was an extremely nice hotel to stay at and to easily attend my conference. The biggest complaint is the lack of entertainment anywhere nearby.

We had a good stay and were very pleased with the overall comfort and atmosphere of the hotel. Everyone from the vallet service to the desk clerk was very accomodating and helpful. The only slight complaint that I do have is that if you are arriving at night the entrance is somewhat difficult to find as you have to watch for small signs directing you to the specific entrance. Other than that is was very nice.

The hotel was clean, and I liked the fact that it was connected to a food court. However, the parking garage was an absolute maze and there was a fee of 69 cents per minute to use a computer in the business center. It cost me $11 to check my e-mails over a 17 minute period.

Very friendly, helpful staff. Room was clean, including the coffee maker water tank. Comfortable bed. This hotel is linked to a series of office buildings and they share a common restaurant area, sort of like a food court at a mall. The hotel also has two restaurants. Both were great. One is more formal dining, the other is a sports bar. Has complimentary shuttle service to the Galleria Mall. Has an underground parking garage, free for hotel guests. Fantastic hotel for the price.

First, the positives: The hotel itself is located in the middle of the Greenway Plaza area, so there's quick access to the Galleria mall (less than 3 miles away with an easy route). They offer a shuttle service to get you to locations nearby, and their staff is generally pleasant. My experience with this hotel is based on my New Years Eve 2007 reservation. The hotel had 1 (!) person working the lobby/reception, so the line to check in was long, implying poor planning skills by management at this hotel. Not a good start. Unlike most 4-star hotels that greet you and make immediate eye contact when you approach the counter (even when they're busy), this lone receptionist chatted for minutes at a time with the current customer, absolutely ignoring everyone else in line. It took over 10 minutes for them to even acknowledge my presence. Checkin was reasonably fast once we made it to the front of the line. The room was clean and had a few nice amenities (coffeemaker, soap/shampoo, large television). When I called down for room service, they promptly answered the phone. Room service seemed higher than normal, and the listed prices did not include the mandatory 20% gratuity they tack onto any purchase. Room service arrived in short order (less than 20 minutes), which was nice. A chicken quesadilla was just short of $15 after tax and gratuity. It was good, but not amazing. Ordering movies via your hotel tv costs anywhere from $15-20 each plus tax. They also have a small selection of popular tv show episodes they'll also provide for around the same price. While watching my movie (Michael Clayton), I noticed interference lines cycling through the picture (similar to what you'd find if you plugged a blender into the same power socket as your tv). The interference was light but constant, which detracted from my enjoyment of the show. I purchased a package that included free breakfast. The staff seemed unclear on the process involved in getting my breakfast provided for
