"Very nice place to stay"
What a wonderful hotel. Let’s start with check-in. We arrived at the hotel early, around noon, and just thought we would give it a try and check-in. The front desk agent Kory, was so pleasant to work with, he found us a room and upgraded us in no time. Three hours before normal check-in. The room is very spacious. Measures approx. 12 x 23 feet in the […] main room. It is appointed with dark wood furniture, 2 queen beds, and easy chair, a credenza (with TV0 attached to the desk and a desk chair. There is a bedside table between the beds with 1 lamp. The bath is decorated similarly with dark wood vanity with a black granite to and white sink. The faucets were high end. There is also the closet with a safe, another cabinet with a refrigerator and coffee maker on top. What a comfortable room. The beds are very comfortable, firm but not hard. The linens are lush, but one does not get lost in them. The towels in the bath are large and fluffy. The only thing missing are robes, and individual reading lamps at each bed. The room is very nicely decorated and the choice of colors is stunning. Our view is overlooking Seattle. This is an excellent room. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Good location. Great service. Walking distance to the main attentions. However it's on top of a steep incline. There no way avoiding going up the hill when heading back to the hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel was clean and modern. Beds were comfortable. You can hear freeway noise from the rooms facing the street and the ones on the sides. My friend who stayed at the back said that she did not have the same problem. I used earplugs and life was good.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The mini-fridge in the room room probably hasn't worked in some time, but with a ice bucket and a ice machine on all even numbered floors, the beer and wine were kept cool. The beds are very comfortable and the road noise from I-5 wasn't a issue on the 14th floor with the a/c running. The breakfast buffet was very nice, but the front desk tired to dodge […] the offer until I showed them a copy of my Hotel.com confirmation. Other than that, the staff were all top notch, even allowing us to check in about 6 hours early, a definate plus! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Renaissance Seattle - a Marriott family hotel Thank you Mike for staying with us and your comments. We are checking the working status of the fridges every day but obviously we missed your room and for that I apologize. I am not sure what offer you are referring to in your comment, but I do assume you had a breakfast inclusive package. The reservation does not always show this, therefore the agent needed to verify the confirmation. I am sorry if you felt that we did not react appropriate. Again thank you for the opportunity to have you as our guest and I hope you will return to visit us. Rene Neidhart
It's a nice hotel with a very friendly and efficient personnel. We will repeat this one if we are back in the city.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great for quick weekend stop"
Stayed here for a quick visit with friends in Seattle while on the West Coast. Although is was no close to the 'happenings' downtown (like the market) or close to the vibe of Capital Hill, I was really happy here. Comfortable room and bed. Great workout center - better than most hotels I stay at. Fresh brewed Starbucks in the lobby in the AM (you have […] to purchase), and a Starbucks store two blocks away that opens at 5:30AM for early birds like me. One thing to note, Seattle is a hilly place and this hotel is located in a fairly steep part of town. Getting onto I5 to the airport is a breeze. The hotel is next to the highway but the noise isn't bad at all. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Response by Renaissance Seattle - a Marriott family hotel Thank you for staying with during your last trip to Seattle. I am sorry that your room did not smell right. I have shared your experience with our staff to insure we are preventing this from happening again. Sincerely, Rene Neidhart

"Pretty Place with a Nice View"
The Renaissance is a nice hotel, within easy walking distance of everything in Downtown Seattle. The rooms were nice, and the staff friendly. We wound up staying on the 27th floor, and had wonderful views from our room of the Sound.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Watch out for extra costs!"
Was a great deal for the room, however then you have the parking..($33 + tax per day for guests, and the parking lot was full so I had to go asked to be reimbursed)...and the room service menu was apparently "old," so I was overcharged for the food. Bottom line is, just these two extras wound up costing as much money as the room itself did, which was […] very nice. But I'd suggest that you park on the street and eat somewhere else. Response by Renaissance Seattle - a Marriott family hotel Thank you for staying with us and your comments. I am sorry that you had an old menu in your room, but I am glad to hear that we did adjust your bill to the old prices. Parking indeed is expensive in Seattle, our rates are in line with the rest of the city, and we are actually less expensive than other 4 diamond hotels. Again thank you and I hope you will be back. "Meh. Nicer than a motel 6, but nothing special..."
The staff was very friendly! The most irritating part of it all was the nickel and dime-ing of everything...$3.50 water bottle, $15 wifi, $40 parking/night, seriously irritating. When I pay $150 a night for a room and a bed, I expect at least a free or discounted breakfast the next morning. At lease a motel 6 has an included continental breakfast. In […] addition, it was $6 for a bucket of ice- because all of the ice machines... On every floor... We broken! Outrageous. I suppose it sounds like I had a terrible time, but actually, that is not the case. Happy hour at Rview was great! It was beautiful from the 28th floor! Service was wonderful and the sweet potato fries were the best I have had in my life. My companion and I each had two drinks and the fries. The hotel have is a free happy hour appetizer voucher- so out bill was only $17 before tip. A great deal! Breakfast was the best part of the trip!! The fruit was fresh. The bed was comfortable and clean with mountains of a variety of pillows. One of the complaints on here is the sound of the freeway. I was on the 15th floor facing Harborview medical center (south), and the traffic sounded like a waterfall. Not so bad in my opinion. I was in an ADA accessible room, because I am confined to a wheelchair. The needed accommodations were met. There was a walk in (or wheel in) shower with an optional shower chair. It was acceptable. My only complaint was that they should include a vanity mirror at a lower level in the bathroom. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Response by Renaissance Seattle - a Marriott family hotel Thank you for staying with us and your comments. I do appreciate your nice comments about our staff and service. While we do not offer free breakfast and free parking, the latter is just not possible in downtown Seattle, where we the hotels have to pay for outside parking, we do offer free appetizers in the lounge. We do have an ice machine on every other floor and I am sorry that the machine on your floor was broken. Again thank you for your patronage and I hope you will be back to visit again. Rene Neidhart
Clean room, friendly staff. Never once bothered by cleaning service wanting to get into room. Fridge, coffee maker, iron, dryer and safe in room. Bathrobes upon request. Beautiful views. Location good - just avoid the hills of Madison! Would definitely stay there again.Genuine Expedia guest review
We had arrived early and was asked to come back later. It was not a problem for us. The front desk clerk was awesome and very friendly. She gave us an amazing room looking towards the bay. Parking was lacking in the area. Had to drive around 5 time before valet came open. Over all experience was great.. The room had some water damage near the window […] and needed repair, and also the refrigerator didn't work very well, The food that was put in the fridge was kinda on the warm side. "Not near Pike Place Market.."
Chose this hotel as it was listed in the "Pike Place Market" section of downtown Seattle. Couldn't have been further away. Wedged at the top of a hill between an unused building and the very busy I-5 freeway this hotel was not what was advertised. It is in the business district rather than near the shops and Market in much less walkable area with a […] worrisome street population and high hills all around. Parking was nearly impossible and very expensive. The underground lot was very difficult to get into and Valet parking frightening as you had to pull all the way around the block, enter on a one way single lane street and then double park and wave a valet over. We tried to get a bite of breakfast in the morning and were sent by the Desk Staff upstairs to Maxwell's only to find it closed for a private event of some kind. The harried waitperson sent us back downstairs to the lounge area where the service was non-existent. We waited a good 20 minutes in our booth for someone to show up and finally just left...walking a few blocks into the real downtown area to find a quaint breakfast place. And when leaving I waited nearly 20 minutes for the valet to bring my car around - very surprising particularly with parking at such a high cost. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Nickels and dimes..."
We liked everything about the hotel BUT the overcharging. It is frustrating to have to pay an extra $40 fee for parking, and $15 fee for internet use, and even be charged to bring 2 spoons up to the room. We were not made aware of all the extra fees ahead of time, and never would have chosen to stay there had we known. We stayed the next night in a […] hotel that was nearly 1/2 the price, and we got a complimentary newspaper, breakfast, fantastic view, and if we had needed spoons, I am positive we would not have had to pay for them! "Loved the hotel & Rview restaurant is AMAZING!"
I love this hotel and the lounge and bar downstairs is great for business meetings and very comfortable to work in the little booths! Rview has the best Ginger spice chocolate cake in the world! Omg, the cake is worth it for a cheat day! The staff at the restaurant is great as well! I was not too thrilled about the not so friendly front desk agent name […] Will.Tall, Asian guy! He was a little rude and not as customer service oriented. I have stayed at the hotel about 3 times, each time for 2 or 3 days. Parking is reasonable for downtown Seattle. Very convenient location for attending Seahawks game.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel is quite nice. Easy access from I5. Easy walk to downtown facilities. Real attraction is the staff. They could not have been friendlier or more attentive. The manager when we checked in late the evening of 12/26 bent over backward to remedy charges not I found obfuscated on or by Expedia. As difficult as it has been to deal with Expedia support, […] it was that easy to work with the staff of the Seattle Renaissance. We brought two of our dogs. Even they were made welcomed by the hotel. Thanks you for a good experience. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
My husband and I had a great time, we stayed here for a Seahawks game! Great distance from town and fields, and great service! Everyone was very nice and helpful! great location.Seattle downtown surround is was outstanding I will stay at the hotel at any time. if you visiting seattle or leave in seattle and looking for a nice hotel I recommend Renasisance. The rooms are very nice but priced a little highGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We wanted to stay within walking distance of the downtown attractions, especially Pike's Market. This hotel was a little bit further away than I had imagined, but not that bad (just a few blocks). Yes, the highway is right outside, but we were on the 21st floor and the noise was not a problem at all. The Good - Staff (front desk and concierge) were […] all very friendly and helpful. - The room was clean and spacious. The Bad (though, not really that bad) - WiFi: I thought it was free?! When I connected in my room, I saw that I would need to pay $14 for wifi connectivity. Really ticked me off and almost caused me to rate this a 3! Fortunately (or unfortunately for me), I learned that if you went down to the public area of the hotel (lobby/lounge), you could get free wifi. In fact, once you made the connection, it stayed with you even when you went back to your room. - It would have been nice to know this up front. - TV: The major network channels were fine, but the cable channels were constantly freezing up and "pixellating". Granted, I did not go all the way to Seattle to watch TV, so I did not call this into the staff/housekeeping. I would only watch for 30-60 minutes before going to sleep - still, it was annoying being relegated to only cbs/abc/nbc/fox - There was only one robe in the closet, not two. A bit nitpicky, but no big deal. - The shower fixture (handle) was not "affixed" to the wall. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Nice hotel walking distance to CenturyLink"
Overall, very good. R-View restaurant on 28th floor has a great happy hour from 4-6pm awesome view of city! Lobby bar is just 'ok', I ordered some food there to bring up to my room later that night and it came out in 'take out' containers (plastic utensils, in a bag, etc). I thought that was weird, plus some of the food was on their happy hour menu […] (different menu from R-View) and he charged me full price because it was 'take-out'!? He knew I was staying at the hotel, which to me isn't the same as 'take-out'. Other than that everything else was great! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Room and services were great. The only down fall was having to walk down steap hill a few blocks to eat. They do have a restaurant but it was okay yet pricy. Other than that we would visit again but this time during the summer season.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Seattle weekend get away"
Nice location,,,,we looked over the freeway though...great and friendly staff. Not sure why we got a knock on the door at 10:00 when we had the do not disturb out and when checkout is at noon. Kind of small bathroom,,,especially after coming from a night at the Olive 8.Genuine Expedia guest review
Pleasantly surprised that a doorman was there at midnight to greet me and open the door. Checked in quick. Very nice room and comfortable bed. The reason for a 3 rating for the room is I was in a corner room. The combination of being above the 5 freeway plus the fan in the room made the room quite loud and would wake me throughout the night. I don't […] mind a constant noise, but this was louder than I like. Very nice staff, Ritz Carlton-esque. Overall I would return! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Two nights at the Renaissance"
Our first stay was a bit rocky but after speaking with management, things did a 180 and we had a wonderful time during our second stay. So relaxing. View of Elliott Bay AND Lake Union, wonderful bartender (Maria), several rooms off the lobby bar in which to kick back, look at the fireplace, watch television, talk. Requested extra coffee from the front […] desk, who promised to take it to our room, forgetting we'd put the "Do Not Disturb" sign out! Michael tracked us down to make sure it was okay to enter our room to leave the coffee. That's great customer service. And if there was a stray bit of dust in our room, we certainly couldn't find it. Spotless. Absolutely spotless. Also, VERY convenient to the waterfront, City Center, Rainier Square, the 5th Ave theater, Pacific Place. It always helps, if things aren't going well, to let someone know. Hotels want their customers to be happy and the staff at the Renaissance are proof of that. I would definitely recommend this hotel!
