"dissapointed that the Jacuzzi pool was not working"
It was mediocre as a romantic stay, because the jets were not working in the Jacuzzi pool; were told that they had just fixed the heat part of the same pool, so at least we had a 'hot tub' available. The average rating on this hotel was misleading. It is a pretty bare-bones hotel. It does have a pool but it is kidney shaped and way too small to do any actual swimming. The breakfast is free but consists of mostly day-old bread products. There is no way to actually cook the instant oatmeal (adding hot water doesn't really do it) as they provide Styrofoam […] bowls that melt in the microwave. The hotel was in a great locations. Very close to all restaurants and in town. Doolittle's Restaurant was across the street and was amazing. The hotel was only about 15 minutes from the winery. "Hotel Under REPAIRS!"
It would have been nice to know they were doing repairs to this hotel. I have pictures of the outside where they are replacing the siding. We were in town for a funeral and were in the room during the day at some points and had to listen to the banging and hammering. The room was not very clean either. I have a picture of a bug smashed into the wall […] that was there when we checked in and still there when we checked out. The floor boards were torn out leaving big gaps between the carpet and the wall. I would have changed hotels but did not want to upset my Husband further since he was already dealing with his Father's funeral. I found my stay comfortable. There was a smell in the room that I didn't care for. It smelled like some kind of disinfectant but I got used to it. I also was disappointed in the selection on TV but other than that the bed was comfortable, the shower and toilet worked, and the breakfast was fairly good. "Not a good place to stay"
The rooms are bad and not that well cleaned. The hall carpet looked like someone overhauled a motorcycle on it. Looked like it had not been cleaned in years. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was not very good. Rolls were dry, no fruit, coffee very weak. Looks like someplace a guy who sleeps sound might stay in because of the cost. Having arrived later in the evening, we asked for a crib for our 1.5 year old as quickly as possible. 25 minutes later, after unloading the car and waiting in our room, I went back to the front desk to inquire about the status of our crib.
