Homage Grand Salon Restaurant - Located in the original 1908 Grill Room, its Grade II listed features are characteristic of the Louis XVI style. The restaurant has 95 seats with a feature bar and walk-in wine cabinet. The new design blends the existing fabric with contemporary elements. The restaurant serves classical dishes as well as some more contemporary favourites, a grill selection and daily regional European specials. The wine list is European.
Homage Patisserie - Serves morning coffee and afternoon tea. The entrance to the patisserie is from the hotel lobby and has a unique, pressed metal finish. Inside the room features the original restored Waring and Gillow panelling. Amongst the rich fabrics and period furniture the focal point is a 'jewel box' counter, displaying fine pastries by day and serving champagne cocktails by night. The patisserie features single estate teas, viennoiseries, fine coffee and freshly squeezed juices, a selection of afternoon tea pastries and a champagne list including the Pommery Collection.
Homage Cocktail Bar - Originally the Hansom Cab and Grill, the Opera Bar and the Gaslight Bar. Wall coverings feature contemporary fabrics, and detailed metal panels provide a contrasting backdrop to period pieces set alongside the B&B Italia Vol-au-Vent chair and a rich, smoked oak timber floor. The bar features a gin-based and a classic cocktail collection and one-plate meals.
The University of London and the British Museum give Bloomsbury a bookish air. Charlotte Street offers good restaurants, while Tottenham Court Road has electronic stores to suit all budgets, and links to the 300 shops of buzzing Oxford Street. Trendy Soho is a few minutes away by foot. Full of local character, it offers interesting pubs, top restaurants, West End theatres and a rich, sometimes risqué nightlife.

The room was bigger than I was expecting for London. The bed was really comfortable, and the bathroom was a good size as well. We did not have too high of expectations but were happy with this choice. The room was clean, workers were nice, and had no problems booking things through the concierge. We only stayed one night and were able to leave our bags at the hotel for the full next day. Close to the Piccadilly line that runs to Heathrow (5 min walk). You know you are in the theater district as there are some all over the place.

Hotel is a historic building, yet rooms were updated to typical Euro standards. We had booked 2 rooms of the same category, and yet each had different layouts. This is typical for buildings converted to hotels. Tube stop of Covent Garden was closest, but this tube station is not one of the better stations. Surrounding neighborhood had plenty of eateries and pubs. Hotel breakfast was plentiful and service staff were very friendly and helpful.

Reviewed by Mark of Toronto on May 19, 2009
Overall the location was great. Everything was within walking distance and if you are adventourous you can walk to all of the great must see places. Tower of London is a 20- 30 minute walk. I was disappointed in the room, a little small for an "upgraded room" and the service in the restaruant for breakfast was AWFUL!! Not what you would expect from a 5 star Hilton. We also had an issue with the shower where it leaked into the bathroom. The one thing we forgot to ask if there was a tub. The two are mutuallu exclusive. Once we arrived the staff tried to up sell us to the executive floor for an additional 60 pounds a night. Felt uncomfortable with that. Overall nice location, room was okay for sleeping, overall fairly small compared to NA standards.

Extremely disappointed with the room on this occasion and would have to think again about returning. However, service form staff was excellent as was the restaurant.

We live in the suburbs of London but chose this hotel for a special birthday treat! It was definately the right choice! The room was really nicely decorated with a big shower! The breakfast was really delicious and served in a beautiful ballroom. The final luxurious touch was delicious tea served as pianist was playing! Then you walk outside and you are in Covent Garden. Perfect!

Great if you're going to a West End show, Covent Garden etc. Top class hotel. Stayed there with 2 kids, who were well looked after. We received updgrade on the rooms without asking. B'fast was included and was v good. Not cheap, but worth it. My second time to stay there and would definately go back again. Couldn't fault it.

From start to finish this hotel was excellent. The Exec rooms are very comfortable and the service was friendly and of a high standard. As always the most important thing in London is location, location, location and the Waldorf is located right at the centre of theatre land. I will always stay at the Waldorf Hilton from now on when I visit London.

We enjoyed our stay, and all staff was friendly, patient and courteous. We did have to switch rooms twice as the first one had wind turbines or something next to it, and the second one was a cubby hole under the roof. As this was a special trip for hubbie and me, we persisted until we got a normal size and noise room. Enjoyed the hotel though.

Anbefales!

Our luggage didn't arrive at the room until more than one hour after check-in, although we called to remind them after 25 minutes. The ventilation broke down the first night so we got not much of a sleep in the heat. They fixed it the day after, but it broke down again the second night. They charged no minibar as a compensation, which was nice but not really a compensation for not having being able to sleep for two nights. On top of that, the view from our room was terrible (that would depend on what room you get). But the lobby, the restaurant and the champagne bar were terrific as well as the fitness club. It's close to all the theatres.
