"Fabulous hotel, great rates"
The Cavendish turned out to be an almost perfect hotel experience at a very reasonable rate. The location (right off Picadilly Circus, across from Fortnum and Mason) could not have been bettered and was ideal when some public transportation was not available over the Christmas holidays. The staff were all very helpful and friendly, offering advice and […] promprt service even when booking extras not offered or even in competition with those of the hotel. The restaurant food was delicious. The hotel itself has been recently updated, and the rooms were extremely comfortable -- my only (minor) complaint was the size of the closets. We will definitely return to the Cavendish on our next visit. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
It was very convinient location for both shopping and sightseeing. Walking distance for all major shopping area and restaurants, also easy access to tube stations and bus stops.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Beautiful Hotel in Perfect Location"
Beautiful hotel in the perfect location. Close to Piccadilly Circus, the parks, the tube and plenty of places to eat. The Concierge was particularly helpful in helping us get around town and finding the perfect place for a birthday dinner. Will definitely stay here next time we're in London.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Walking Distance to Attractions and Restaurants"
Westminster area. Within walking distance to Picadilly, Leicester Square (restaurants, casinos, movies) Westminster Abbey and Buckingham Palace. Fabulous service. Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms are small, upgrading recommended if staying 4 or more nights. Very clean. Bathrooms large. Will return for business or leisure travel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very nice but not for me."
Very nice hotel. Clean, friendly and helpful staff with a very good location. My disappointment was the late check-in especially for international arrivals which are usually there early. We arrived at appx 1100 am and were still made to wait until 3pm for a room. We spent the entire time hanging out in the lobby because we were too tired to travel anywhere […] at that point so our first day was a total waste of time ( we were only staying 4 nights). There is also no refrigerator in the room (just a mini bar) and the bathroom has no counter space. It is a nice hotel but personally I would not stay there again. "Shocked beyond belief!"
I was expecting a nice "4 Star" Hotel, but we got was, in my opinion a 5 1/2 star hotel! I don't know what else anyone could ask for to keep it from having a 5 star rating! There is an in-room expresso maker with different types of coffee, a HUGE tub in the extravagantly appointed bathroom (complete with 2 luxurious robes AND slippers, a bose surround […] sound ipod dock with remote control and a fantastically comfortable king-sized bed with wonderfully soft lines, pillows and comfortors. I couldn't think of anythig else I would have needed that wasn't already in the room. The hotel staff were friendly & professional - 2 concierge staff at the desk who were able to connect us to the tours we wanted, complete with maps and personal directions and recommendations for theater & dinner! I booked at the Cavendish because it looked nice on Hotels.com, but I will INTENTIONALLY book again! Great place, close to everthing you may want to see in London! "Great location for walking to attractions."
A good hotel and a good value. Helpful staff. Located just off Piccadilly and close to West End theater district. Even cab drivers told me it was considered a very good hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Excellent Hotel - Location, Location, Location"
We were so very pleased with The Cavendish London from the moment we arrived to the time we had to leave. The hotel lobby is welcoming with lovely funishings and an extremely helpful and friendly staff. The rooms are large for Europe, nicely decorated and very clean. The corridors are quiet and we heard no noise from surrounding rooms our entire stay. […] The location is within a short walking distance of Picadilly Circus and the tube stations, which is very convenient. We would recommend this hotel as top quality all around. "Pleasant hotel, good value."
Very functional hotel that is well located. Employees are polite, rooms are clean. This is not a 5 star hotel in appearance but for the value and location it performs very well.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Classy Quiet Hotel"
The room was very modern and clean. The shower was good and the hair dryer way above par for Europe. I accidentally left a diamond ring by the sink one day and it was just where I left it when I returned. The TV was a little temperamental (though very nice) and I wished the wifi was free, but everything else was highly satisfactory.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Perfect location, perfect stay"
Great experience. I contacted the front desk after landing at LHR (night flight from NY) and by the time I got there a room was ready (10:30am) for me to use and change for my business lunch. Located on the southern side of Mayfairand 5 min. walk from Picadilly Circus it was perfect for walking to the tube or to the bars and clubs I went to. All the […] room ammenities and bed conforts were top notch, I felt refreshed upon waking up after a night on the town and ready to go to my 3 meetings. I highly reccomend and will be a repeat client. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great location. Great boutique hotel"
My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon 31 years ago and then again the past 3 yrs. for a day or two. We like it much better than 31 yrs. ago because it's much more comfortable and hip! I keep thinking each time we plan on coming to London to stay in a fancy upscale hotel but then say why bother. You don't need to always spend a lot of money […] to have a nice hotel. "A renovated, green hotel with some quirks"
This is by and large a decent hotel with recently renovated contemporary aesthetic and affordable rates. The rooms are quite small with not much of a view, particularly the ones you will find for a 'deal' on Expedia. But it's an urban hotel so that's usually what you get. The location is pretty ideal if you want to visit a lot of neighborhoods in London. I […] do have a couple cautionary tales for anyone considering the Cavendish: 1. Water pressure is poor, so if you just love a great powerful shower you'll be disappointed. This is part of their green initiative, which also includes turning lights off in hallways when not used. It takes a few seconds to come on, so when you exit the elevator or your room you'll be in the dark for a few seconds before the lights flicker on. 2. You cannot really log on to their wifi system from an iPhone or iPad. The flash popups they use to get online simply don't show up on apple devices. That said, I was able to access a couple websites from my iPhone without logging in, but not my email or facebook. There is a Starbucks a block away though that has excellent internet access for free. 3. Their “airport transfer service” is really just them calling you a cab. 4. Absolutely positively DO NOT get the breakfast package. It’s literally the worst thing I ate in London and the staff is literally dying to get you out of there. 5. Their electrical system is not ‘universal’ but they will loan you an outlet adapter for a deposit. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Outstanding in every way, save the size of the room, which was uncomfortably small for two persons. Would have been fine for a single. "Very nice, expensive, small rooms, hard beds."
A very nice hotel, very classy. GREAT LOCATION, very affluent area... lots of shopping!!The room was super small though. I would not reccommend more than two averaged size people per room, and larger people will be uncomfortable. The bed was way too firm, almost hard. "The Cavendish London"
We stayed here for 5 days and loved it. The room quality is excellent and larger than we expected, especially the bathroom. Hotel service was top notch. Have the concierge get you a car service to Heathrow, it's the same cost as a taxi but a nicer ride. Location is a few blocks from a Tesco for quick food items and also within a 5 minute walk from […] the theater district and Picadilly Circus. It can get loud at night though so the higher up you can stay the better. "Perfect location to walk everywhere in London"
The hotel is very nice and clean. Very modern. Friendly staff all around. We had to have our original bed sheets changed for some soiling but other than that everything seemed very clean. The rooms are small but reasonable for europe. Bathrooms are small too, but again reasonable and all you really need. The hotel is in a fantastic location to walk […] anywhere in London. It is right by Picadilly Circus and walkable to Trafalgar Square. It is also close to all the major underground stops. We also rode the hop on hop off bus and it was very convenient. Despite repeated stays and early check in requests the room has never ever been ready early. Disappointingly for this stay it wasnt until 3pm. Luckily the location has plenty of distractions. "Always good but..."
I have stayed at the same hotel about two years ago with a friend. The room given was way bigger than this, basically there wasn't enough space to keep the door opened when the waiter brought my dinner. Or any space to open two luggages at a time, unless u prefer to open it on your bed. The location of the hotel is great, the staff are amazing, make […] sure you put '' don't disturb sign'', the same cleaning lady will show up at your door every 30 minutes even if you tell her that you don't need cleaning. The food service are also great, i didn't have breakfast but I was satisfied with the serviced food. However there was no standard of serving, the first time I ordered, they brought bread, and then they didn't for the other two. When you order french fries, you shouldn't have to remind them to bring ketchup and so on... And bread, by the time they arrived in my room, i was done with what's on my plate. I do advise the hotel but as for a bigger room if possible. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great location and great service"
You simply cannot beat the location of this hotel - it is an easy walk to Piccadilly Circus, Buckingham Palace, multiple theaters and the top shopping areas of London - and if you need to go a little further afield - there are 2 tube stations within 10 minutes walk! We had pre-paid for the room, including breakfast and a major advantage was that breakfast […] delivered to our room was at no additional charge. This was a great option, because on our first morning we did have to wait 15 minutes for a table in the restaurant. Nevertheless it was worth the wait as the food was excellent - and we can highly recommend the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs! Service was excellent overall and for me one of the biggest indicators is how the staff manage things when there was a problem. One morning the hot water was at best warm and not sufficient for a shower - within 5 minutes of a call to the front desk, someone was at our room to look into the problem. Shortly thereafter we had a phone call to tell us that there had been a problem with the boiler overnight, but it had been fixed. On our return later in the day we had a card from the manager apologizing for the problem and offering us a gift in compensation - we took them up on a drink in the bar! The only real negatives were that the room was small, which is not uncommon in London hotels and the bathroom while fairly spacious and stylish, tended towards "form over function" with limited useful space. I have never completed an online review, but will make an exception for this hotel. It is not one of the "grand" London hotels. So if that's what you want, go pay two or three times the price and look elsewhere. Otherwise I can't imagine a friendlier, more helpful staff or a better location for this price. Clean, comfortable, well located. A nice small […] lounge and restaurant area and prompt room service. Would definitely return. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"cavendish hotel in London"
The location is great. Access to the tube, high end shopping, great restaurants and total convenienceGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Very central location to sites and tube stations. Free wifi only in the lobby/lounge and limited to one hour use at a time - need to retrieve a new user id and password after each hour. 3 computers in business center and settings on the computer prevented access to certain websites including airline's website for check-in. Staff, however, were very […] nice and accommodating. Front desk clerk allowed me to check-in and print my boarding pass from her computer. Maintenance team not so good -- drain in the bath was clogged and would fill up with water immediately so you are stuck standing in a tub of water. Called for service after the first night, but never got fixed during my 3 nights at the hotel. Air vent made loud ticking noise if running above 21C so could not have air on while sleeping - also reported but was not fixed. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Excellent location, small room"
We booked a Classic room at a very good rate for a couple of nights. On checking in we were offered the choice of a high or low floor room. We elected for a high too and ended up on the 14th Floor (of 15). Excellent views across London to the east. The Classic room is small, so we needed to co-ordinate our movements around, as floor space around the […] bed is very limited. However the bathroom and amenities made up for this. "Great location, noisy rooms"
The location is fantastic for a touristy weekend in London. The hotel was clean and reasonably well kept, but on a 4 star hotel at this price it was what you would expect and not more - room had all you would need including coffee etc. The downsides: thin walls so you *really* hear your neighbours and the staff on check in went through their insincere […] script which came off pretty rude sadly.
