The Country Inn and Suites is about 8 miles west of the Minneapolis Airport, just off 494. It is one of a collection of hotels in that area. The wifi is excellent, as is the free breakfast. There is a lake with trails about a half mile away. There is also a strip mall in that area for a few places to eat.

this is my second time staying at this location... I come out of state to shop at the Mall of America. The hotel is just a few minutes away and always has a great price. The staff are very friendly. The arrangement of the furniture in this king size room made it impossible to use the desk without getting out of the chair to let someone walk by. I found it very inconvienient that there was only one elevator that worked the weekend we were there. The bathroom was so small you couldn't sit on the toilet without hitting your head on the bathroom door. The rooms were quite small for two adults and a 1 year old in a crib. Water pressure was terrible and the water just dribbled out of the faucet. […] The people in the room next to us woke us up in the night yelling and hitting their 2 year old. I called the front desk once to report it and they did nothing, after I called again telling them I was going to call the cops they finally called the room. The pillows were half the size of a normal pillow and the fan never turned off the entire night which made the room very dry and uncomfortable. We went here for my sons hockey tournament and they had a blast. There were a bunch familys there for a basketball tournament and the staff made every effort to accomodate us. It is vey nice place to stay.

Perhaps I had high expectations coming into this stay. The hotel room was nice enough. Had all the items you would expect, along with a small microwave and fridge. The wall in the room was severely scuffed up and needed serious painting. The sink for the bathroom was located directly next to the front door (not kidding) and was about 2'x2'. Not all […] large enough to place your toiletries down, especially since the tissue boxes and a display holding the shampoo/soap/etc took up half that room. The shower was adequate. Shower head could have been nicer. It was nice having complimentary wifi and breakfast. Breakfast included waffles, eggs, sausage, oatmeal, cold cereal, toast, bagels, and fresh uncut fruit. Pretty decent. One of the elevators was under construction. I don't know why I didn't like the bed, but it left me sore in the morning. They are going through some upgrades/remodeling and the room had a few minor issues like the sink draining slowly and the heater making some noise initially. For the price, this is hard to beat. This was a nice place to spend a night. The only thing I didn't like about our room - we had a one king bed, others may be different - was the room arrangement. The wardrobe to hang up our coats and clothes was all the way on the other side of the room as opposed to being a handy place just inside the door to hang things up, and the minifridge and microwave […] were stacked inside the wardrobe so there was very little room for clothing. In order to hang clothing, I actually took out the microwave and set it on the bureau to make room for clothing in the wardrobe. Also, one of the elevators was out of service while we were there, though that wasn't really a big deal - we use the stairs most of the time anyway. That said, I really liked everything else about the room, the hotel, and the staff. The breakfast in the morning was great, practically a buffet! The staff members were always friendly and helpful, including with smiles and pleasant greetings even just in passing as they went about their work. The location was also nice for us - just minutes from downtown Minneapolis and within easy reach of everything we wanted. I would say it was easily worth the money we spent on the room and would stay there again in the future. Also, I would remember to bring my bathing suit next time, as the pool area looked like a very nice place to relax as well, but we didn't have time to enjoy it this time around. Read more

We did a trip to the MOA and chose this hotel for the value. It's only a 10-minute drive from the mall. The room was nice--clean, and comfortable beds (I bring my own pillow everywhere I go). Yes, the bathroom is tiny but that wasn't an issue for us. The heater has to be either on or off, which is annoying but so common in hotel rooms. We put a wet […] towel over the vent and that helped with humidity. We really enjoyed the pool with our kids. It was nice and warm. The hot tub was HOT!--but some like that. The only downside was having to walk through the lobby and dining area to get to the pool. But we were on the 5th floor with two small kids, so we didn't take the stairs. They were down to one elevator and they're in the process of replacing them. That was inconvenient, but when the work is done it'll be nice. The breakfast was good--lots of options and included. The sheets were asked to be changed as their was hair and stains on them. They weren't changed, the hair was just cleaned off. The furniture was very dinged up, the walls had marks all over them, the floor was not clean, the shower had mold around the edges. All in all was very outdated and needs some tlc. Several things were not right for our weekend stay. First, we were left at Mall of America after calling front desk for a shuttle, so had to pay for a taxi ride back $25. It is an old but nice hotel. The staff was very friendly and courteous. Cleaning staff we encountered was very honest and ethical, as my wife accidentally left her wedding ring and watch in the room. Two hours later when we came back they both were still there, and beds made. Priced competitively.
