No, not me - luckily, because the wind makes the building absolutely howl - but the hotel itself. The room was fundamentally okay but the furniture was incredibly old and frayed, the shower was straight out of the early 80s and had lost it's silvery coating and the whole atmosphere on entering the building was not dissimilar to entering an old 70s council […] building. Very good location, but the hotel needs a face lift. Arrived in the evening and had difficulty locating the hotel due to lack of signage. The entrance is actually not on Cliff Road which did not help. Did not have breakfast in the hotel, but there are plenty of cafes close by which are not expensive.

Hotel is good, the only thing I would say is the curtains need renewing and window insulated, apart from that itsthe ideal location for a weekend on the pop & somewhere cheap to get your head down. Worth a visit :0)

The best thing about this hotel is its location just off the Hoe and 10 minutes walk to the Barbican and city centre. The hotel is very tired but the room was clean, the bed comfortable and the view out of our 7th floor window an un-expected bonus since we did not book a room with a view. On site free parking (as long as you entered your car registration […] in the machine in reception was an added bonus. The breakfast was expensive so we did not have breakfast in the hotel. Cheaper breakfasts are to be found in numerous cafes with in a few minutes walk. We got the room for a very good price and so were very pleased with our visit. Read more

Located on the top of the Hoe with fantastic views over the bay. The hotel is okay (but starting to get a bit tired) but excellent value. 10 minutes walk from the barbican and the main shopping area but in a quiet area. If you are driving make sure you give them your registration of you WILL end up with a parking fine!

Ideally located, with a large, free car park. The hotel and rooms are very tired, and desperately in need of a refurb, but the room was spotlessly clean, comfortable, and had a great view. The staff were friendly and efficient. For the price, it was a real bargain, and I'd definately stay there again.

it was cold and there was not enough blankets provided but it is an hotel that operates green policies throughout and I was warm in bed and slept well when I had the time to do so. It is very close to the most famous land mark of Plymouth, The Hoe, and I was able to take an hour at my leisure to take photographs of Plymouth Sound in the sunrise. Quality Hotel is a bit of a misnomer! It needs a complete makeover (or maybe knocking down and rebuilding.) The carpet in our room was threadbare in places and the bathroom door was rotting. I have never before visited Plymouth, after very long journey delayed due to weather problems. Staff very friendly, room very clean and warm, although not modern perfectly in keeping with price paid per night, lots of hot water, very easy to visit all areas of Plymouth on foot - pavillion-5 mins, theatre royal-10 mins, town centre-15 mins - all on foot. […] Only downside was not enough milk for drinks - just 2 small cartons uht milk + 2 teabags, 2 coffee sachets - being from yorkshire I like a few cuppas first thing in the morning - don't function till the third teabag drained. We were visiting one of our children who is at Plymouth Uni - needed somewhere to stay and found Quality Inn on hotels.com. Liked the idea of parking on site and close to the sea. Staff were excellent, very friendly on check-in and in bar, but place was lacking any kind of atmosphere and life. Room was clean though rust on windows and doors made for […] a unkept feel. Pillows were terrible. Overall, the hotel is in a good location, easy to get into centre and walk to University in 15 mins. But it needs serious attention to bring it up to an acceptable standard. Probably the best value for money I have ever experienced in a hotel! Hotel is typical 70's building, the old Post House Hotels come to mind, so it's not a modern building but would highly recommend this hotel.

The room (510) had a side view towards the Hoe and over the car park towards the city centre which was fine for me. The room was clean and although the furniture and décor was a bit dated, but comfortable. The radiator thermostat was adjustable from off to almost instantaneous full heat, so could control the rooms temperature well. The shower was powerful […] and easy to use, a definite tick there. A trouser press was provided and a fridge(Empty Mini bar) for chilling drinks etc. I didn't take breakfast so cant comment on the catering standards. The lifts were very efficient. I enjoyed my stay and would certainly stay there again. The cleaning lady was very good and courteous. The Wifi is free after an initial registration and my laptop found it with ease with a good connection. Read more

Hotel was great and friendly staff. But what a nightmare to find. The hotel is not on the cliff Rd although all the addresses state it is. Driving around for awhile and hotel is not clearly marked/signposted. I would suggest calling hotel to get correct street name. The hotel is run down and in desparate need of refurbishment. The curtains were all frayed and dirty, we wouldn't walk on the room carpet without shoes or slippers on because it felt so grubby, the sink in the bathroom wouldn't drain properly and the windows in the room were jammed and filthy.

Basic but clean and comfortable beds/nice hot shower. Great if you want a no frills stop over. Didn't try the breakfast but the bar was good. Great views of Plymouth Sound so ask for sea view room. Staff very pleasant.

hotel was tidy the view from room 705 is spectacular the lighthouse, island, it was great. the carpet and furniture could do with a bit of updating but it was clean comfortable and well placed i would go back and plenty of car parking the bedding and towels were very clean so i have no complaints. .

The room was fine, although the pillows were all officially dead and the reception staff were very helpful. The hotel is better inside than you would expect from outside, and the advantage of being in the ugly hotel is it doesn't ruin the view, the view from the rooms with a sea view, is amazing and made the stay for me.
