We had a great time on our trip to Puerto Vallarta. The city is great and the hotel is very relaxing! I would recommend this hotel to anyone trying to getaway and not neccesarily trying to do a crazy spring break adventure. The staff is very helpful and will set you up with anything you need! We will definitely visit again.

This was our second stay at Dreams but the first time with our children, ages 9 and 10. We stayed the week of Thanksgiving. We had a wonderful time! There was plenty to do for all of us as well as time for us to sit back and relax. We so enjoyed the entertainment staff and their willingness to accommodate the requests of the guests. They liked the kids club too. The kids loved checking the entertainment schedule each morning and planned their day accordingly. I even got to take a fruit carving class! The fire show & circus shows were awesome but Thanksgiving on the beach was amazing! We loved the no reservation concept. Even though the restaurants were busy, we didn't have to wait very long. The food was great too! The wait staff at the restaurant and bars made every effort to accommodate our every desire. By the second day, they were calling us by name. We have visited PV 5 times now and always stay here. I just can't bring myself to stay anywhere else. The food is superb and the restaurants always easy to get into. No reservations required. The staff is extremely friendly and happily do small favors for you. We don't stay in the most expensive, newer rooms but our rooms are neat, clean and comfortable. […] The beach is private and only available to the patrons of the hotel. One bit of advice, use the guy on the beach (Antonio or Orlando) to book any boating adventures. The hotel doesn't get any payback from them so will discourge you from using their services but they are half the price the hotel charges. They are licensed and insured, as good as anybody the hotel will set you up with. You can get on the boat right from the beach so you don't have to take a trip into town and they will go anywhere and do anything you want. We've used them for whale watching, fishing, snokeling and just cruising around. You'll love your vacation at the Dreams! Read more

We loved Dreams. This hotel came highly recommended by my sister who had taken her family last year. The hotel and grounds we clean and well kept and very safe. The service was great and we never had to wait for a drink or longer than 10mins for a meal. Every evening a schedule was put under our door so we could plan our days..We did Yoga on the beach or scoccer or water volly ball and in the evening there as alway entertainment. The beach was private so it was only the dreams guests which we loved and there were a few vendors but it was not annoying. It was never too noisey or loud even when there was a wedding party below our room. There were always plenty of sun chairs and beds so we loved that. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff...they all were very helpful and would go out of their way to make sure you had everything you need and your stay was plesant. Dreams was awesome! It was our first international resort experience but the seasoned all-inclusive travelers we met along the way warned us that with Dream PV we set the bar as high as it goes. All around fantastic service. Beatriz (Betty) was an exceptional concierge. Our reservations were for the original tower but within the first hour there was […] a slight problem with the plumbing. I was immediately attended to with housekeeping, maintenance, a gift plate of fruit, a bottle of champagne and an upgrade to the new tower. Beatriz’ response was 5-star. Having the chance to compare both towers – the original tower was completely comfortable, great bed, lovely view, spacious. The new tower was gorgeously decorated, had its own lobby, delicious hors d’oeurves every night with an open bar. The room was even more spacious and the bed was glam with dark wood and an artistic back-lit headboard. If you plan on taking advantage of late mornings in the room I think the new tower is worth the extra expense but if you are truly beach-bumming or going to spend most days out in the town, the original tower was a fantastic deal for great accommodations. The only word to the wise I would share which we didn’t realize as newbies to the all-inclusive: Tip. Even though the website says it’s already included, we noticed most guests tipped for everything-drinks, dinner, in room service, host services. Had booked into the cheapest tower and the rooms were fine. On the first night some people had obviously partaken generously of the free booze and were yelling and breaking glass outside of our room. Thankfully the next day they left. On the fourth day I was woken at 7:40am by furniture being moved around in the room upstairs. This lasted for more than […] an hour before I called down to the front desk. Apparently the hotel is remodelling some of the rooms. I'm all for that, but at 7:40am??? The noise from the remodeling could be heard throughout the day, including on the beach in front of this tower. After being woken so early by the remodeling I requested to be moved to the other tower. The front desk staff appeared somewhat hesitant initially, but after my explanation that I went on holiday to relax and not listen to construction noise we were moved. The other tower was fine - no issues. Beach was quieter. I don't think I would pay the extra for the preferred tower, but that's just me. The other rooms would have been fine if they were not being remodelled. The staff at the hotel (bar, restaurant, cleaning etc) were all wonderful, smiling, friendly. The food was great and we definitely made the most of it. The drinks were weak (and I'm a lightweight)but I'm sure you can ask for more alcohol if you like. All in all, except for the inconvenience of having to move rooms, we had a very relaxing (and fattening) stay. (Stayed at Dreams Cancun previously and preferred it). Read more

My expectations were really high for this resort. The first impressions were good. We were greeted with a glass of champagne and a wet hand towel while we waited in line to check in. The private beach with looked just like the photos online. We got into our room, which was a "Deluxe Oceanview Room with Balcony". The view was nice, we could hear the […] crashing of the waves through the closed door. The mattress and pillows were good quality. Upon closer inspection we noticed the walls and ceiling had chipped paint, cracks in the concrete, spiderwebs all over the air conditioning vent, and dirty marks in the corners. We checked in the bathroom and found the shower/tub to be of adequate size, but it had stains and mildew in it. We were pretty disappointed in the room. We had a much nicer experience with the rest of the resort. We were able to eat at the Seaside Grill which is a finer dining restaurant, the World Cafe which offered buffet style meals, and El Patio which had Mexican style cuisine in a casual setting. Think El Torito but really in Mexico. With our all inclusive package, all the meals were covered as well as all drinks (alcohol too!). The beach was great. There's a bar close to every beach/pool area, and wait staff would come to take drink or food orders. There were a few beach vendors, but they were not pushy. There were free activities such as kayaking and beach volleyball, and others that had affordable pricing such as jet ski, parasailing, and scuba diving. Read more

My husband and I stayed at Dreams from Aug. 29-Sept 3.. What a dream! We are relatively easy going people; we try not to let small issues ruin our day. We stayed in the Dreams tower rather than the preferred tower, and were so happy with our room we saw no reason to upgrade. My husband would like for there to have been a better a/c or a ceiling fan […] in the room. This didn't bother me as much. We went during the "low season", and we felt like we had the place to ourselves. The staff was very attentive both at the pool and the beach. If we got thirsty and there was no staff around, we simply walked (or swam) the 20 feet to the nearest bar. Management takes extremely good care of this place. From dawn till dusk, you'll see someone sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, etc, in order to make this place look good. I can't tell you how magical this place is. It's very secluded, and very romantic. The food is delicious.. the dinner restaurants are obviously high quality than the lunch/breakfast buffet. We liked Seaside Grill and Oceana the best. The room service menu was appreciated for a change to get away from the heat during lunch. The drinks are plentiful, and they don't skimp on the alcohol. We had read that although tipping is supposed to be included, still be prepared to tip. We didn't find this at all. Beach is green - not blue. :) Pros: Private Beach - after major research in PV forums, this is supposedly the best beach in Puerto Vallarta. It is no Hawaii, but it is a clean, secluded, and quiet beach. I went in July and it had a lot of manta rays, which freaked out many people, but I didn't hear anyone getting stung so don't worry. Pretty good food - Really good for an all-inclusive. Of course, some of the menu can feel repetitive, but for 5 days worth of "all you can eat" food, it wasn't bad. Friendly staff - the staff does its best to make you feel at home. Entertainment - some of the entertainment can feel forced and cheap, but everyone seemed to enjoy them. Perfect weather - I thought the weather in July was perfect. Sunny to cloudy in the day and thunderstorms at night after sunset at 8:30pm. Perfect! No reservations in the restaurants needed!! upon arriving they give you champange and a wet washcloth to cool you off. I had the deluxe ocean view room, and it was exactly as the picture on the internet. This is the first all-inclusive place I've ever stayed at. I had a little trouble with the front desk staff about why they needed to know certain information about our comings and goings. I think it's a "security" issue (concerning how many people are eating free in their restaurants, lol). I shared a room with a friend who had to leave a day before […] me. I had to fill out a form declaring that she was checking out and that I was staying and say why. It certainly didn't seem to have anything to do with their concern about the quality of her stay. When I asked why that was their business (I didn't think it was, but could they explain why it was? The room was already paid for by me, for two people, thru the day I was to depart) I was pulled aside and the manager spoke to me in a lowered voice as if I were 5 years old and needed a "time out". :-D He didn't explain it very well, either in Spanish or in English. But other than that we had fun and the massages were GREAT! Also, this was during "Hurrican Bud", which ultimately fizzeled, but the hotel staff gave us notifications of the status of the storm and if we needed to make preparations to evacuate or anything. This was our third trip to Dreams - we've always stayed in the Preferred Tower. The staff are always so friendly & helpful. We had a great time with Ruben & Lilia! My only complaint & it seemed worse this year, is the VIP Service Desk which is another name for timeshare or pressure to visit their other resort in Neuvo Vallarta. I think it takes away […] from your trip when you are relieved to step off the elevator & NOT see the desk staffed. I also indicated this on my Dreams survey. Overall - GREAT value for the money - upgrade to Preferred Tower - it's worth the extra if not just for the view of the ocean. Everyone is always so helpful & many do remember us from year to year. I went to Dreams on my honeymoon in May and I couldn't have asked for a better trip. The weather was great, 85-87 each day, cools off at night. The hotel is safe and secure and the staff went out of their way to make each guest comfortable and happy. All rooms are ocean front, just try to get one on a higher floor with a balcony so you can enjoy the […] ocean and sunsets. It's worth the extra money. I was able to see the newer tower to compare rooms and while the newer tower is very nice and more modern, the main tower has all you need. Not worth the money in my opinion. The hotel has its own private beach, a ton of activities free of charge (volleyball, kayaking, tennis, movie night on the beach to name a few) and their entertainment staff get the guests energized all day; whether it be dance lessons on the pool deck or karaoke on the beach. The hotel is immaculate, the food is great and the drinks are even better. (try a dirty monkey-heaven!) All staff speak excellent English and are genuine and personable. The hotel has their own cabs contracted specifically for guests to use to go into town or on an excursion. The cab to the airport (30 minute trip) was $15 USD. Don't book excursions at the airport! My husband and I heard horror stories. The hotel can help you book any excursion you want and the price is pretty reasonable. It’s worth the peace of mind knowing you're going out to meet with a reputable company/group. And remember to tip, a little goes a long way. Read more
