"Very clean. Great view of Diamond Head, Zoo..."
Very clean. Great view of Diamond Head, Zoo and Ocean. At the end part of Waikiki, but a short walk from everything. I would recommend this hotel. It's a bit rundown and needs renovation but I was surprised and pleased.Genuine Expedia guest review
"A tired hotel"
Staff was pleasant but in all seriousness, this hotel has seen it's day. Rooms are tired and in need of re-decoration. Bathrooms very well-worn. For the pre-airport stopover this was OK, but (I would assume) for a bit more one could find a more memorable property for a vacation stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Affordable hotel next to everything"
The hotel was nice to look at, we requested a diamondhead view with a king sized bed and the nice folks at the front desk upgraded us to a junior suite when we said it was our anniversary. They had no problem accommodating an early check in (1:30pm) and were very pleasant to deal with. The room had a nice wow factor for us, one side looking out on diamondhead […] and overlooking the honululu zoo, and the other side full wall window views of the ocean. The king size bed was very comfy and the lanai was small but perfect for a couple to drink their morning coffee and chat on. There was not one bug sighting the entire stay which is pretty great in a tropical climate with all the windows open. Not even a little lizard or anything. The bathroom was small, as expected, but clean. The vanity was big enough for a high maintenance woman to spread out all her makeup with still room for her husband to brush his teeth. The closet had plenty of room to hang all our clothes for a 5 night stay and there was a dresser we could have utilized as well. The Jr suite has a microwave, mini fridge, cabinets stocked with plates, silverware, mugs, glasses, big sink, and a dining table, we made good use of it and it saved us some money to eat breakfast in our room! The only complaint overall was noise, but that was in NO WAY the hotel's fault. Waikiki is just a noisy place. Morning, noon, and night, there is constant sound but none of it through the walls. I'm sure this hotel was prestine in it's own day, but rooms are very run down looking and small. They were clean, however and the staff was very helpful and friendly. They were having issues with their wifi when I was there which was very inconvient. Pool is also very small.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Just what we needed!"
Upon arrival, Bellmen and Valet' were extremely polite and willing to help. Checking in was a breeze at the front desk. "Well-priced, but very dated and musty ."
Rooms are not much different than you would find at a roadside motel. Old, window air conditioner is very noisy. Badly in need of refurbishment and updating throughout. Pretty much at the end of Waikiki. Only very price-sensitive travelers should consider this hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
enjoyed the view....not much to say since I checked in late in evening and checked out 9 am next morningGenuine Expedia guest review
"Excellent customer service"
We stayed at the QKH in January of this year. We had upgraded our reservation to a Diamond Head View room with a King size bed. We arrived shortly after midnight and checked into our room, only realize it was a room with a Diamond Head view but with 2 double beds. We contacted the front desk and was told that they could not move us to our upgraded room […] until the next day. They make good on their word. The next day we moved to room 1402. Really great room with excellent view of Diamond Head, city lights, next door to zoo, and a partial ocean view. Three employees in particular stand out for their outstanding customer service. Shane met us each day with a warm smile and a friendly face. I am disabled and in a wheelchair and he was always more than willing to help me with my accommodations in and out of our car. Jocelyn was always so friendly and helpful and the front desk. Finally, I did not get his name, and I'm sorry for that, your head maintenance man performed some minor maintenance on my wheelchair. I am indebted to him for that. Our entire stay was wonderful and we will return. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
It was a last minute decision and hotel was available, easy walk to everything, beach, bus line, restaurants, etc... Our biggest concern was cleanliness. Hotel was well maintained, no bugs and housekeeping is on top of their game. Thank youGenuine Expedia guest review
"First Time At QKH"
This was a very enjoyable stay, the beds were perfect, the staff absolutely perfect, and everything was clean and well looked after. I would have appreciated an addition bath towel and an addition glass or two. Hope to stay again.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Nice spot for kama-aina"
At the far end of Waikiki across from the zoo. Older hotel with new furnishings, great bed (but not so great pillows). Huge flat screen TV. If you opt for the view rooms, you get a very nice balcony and a view of Diamond Head. Very clean and excellent service at the front desk and bell captain. Wonderful spot for walks along Waikiki beach and, of course, […] swimming. Stayed here twice now, and it's becoming our regular spot for brief trips to Honolulu. I like the location overlooking the ocean, the park and zoo and diamond head. For breakfast we bought papayas at the gift shop, ate them in our room with coffee, then went downstairs for a $6.00 full breakfast. "Nice hotel in a great location"
We loved the location of the hotel overlooking Diamondhead and only 1/2 block from the beach in Waikiki, where all the festivals take place. The hotel room was spacious, clean and nicely decorated with lots of windows to better enjoy the view. With the windows open to the ocean breezes, we did hear some sirens at night but were above other traffic noises. […] There was an in-room coffee pot and small refrigerator. I am a local originally from Oahu but now residing on the Big Island. I am familiar with this hotel though have not been there since my prom in 1976!!! I work in the hospitality industry and had a late check in at 11pm. The staff for that time of night were very personable from the valets to the front desk. I loved the view. Diamond Head close up and gorgeous. View also of the ocean. Very close to everything. We took bus from the airport and the bus stopped really close to the hotel. This hotel was in a great location with the exception of several homeless people across the street. Spacious room. We were on the 14th floor which had partial view of beach. "Nice Hotel, Close to Beach with Easy Access"
This was our second stay at QK, and we weren't disappointed! The location is great for getting away from Waikiki and seeing the sights, or just staying, going to the beach and walking the "strip." The room was comfortable, but not lavish. The city view was nothing to write home about, but last trip we got partial ocean view w/ balcony and it was fine. "Undisturbed view of Diamond Head"
Our experience at this hotel was incredible! After 27 hours of travel to the island my husband and I were exhausted. We reserved a city view room but it was very late and we fell asleep instantly on a very comfortable bed. We woke the next day to see the breathtaking view of the mountain! There was no buildings to obstruct the view from any room, the […] zoo is right across the street as well as a park so the landscape was green and serene. The rooms may need some updating but we spent our mornings on the balcony watching the sunrise and drinking coffee. It was surprisingly peaceful considering we were in Waikiki. Enjoyed the room for the location was my main decision in booking this hotel. Rooms are very small, a double bed for one person is acceptable, but, putting two persons would be uncomfortable. Shane at the bell desk is your guy in this hotel ... make sure you connect with him. Don't take a standard room, it's a closet. Best rooms are 1118, 1218, 1318, 1418, 1518 etc. The "18 series" overlook the park and the beach. Best thing about the Queen K is that the front door opens onto the zoo and park. "A Hidden Gem if you stay in a room with a view"
The hotel is in a great location with a park and beach across the street and the zoo nearby so you can hear a few grunts from the wildlife during feeding time. The public areas are tastefully decorated. The pool and breakfast restaurant are wonderfully situated with great views. The bar there seems underutilized and could offer so much more. Most impressive […] is the staff who were very accommodating. Most rooms seem to have lanais; a room with a view of Diamond Head and the beach are well worth the upgrade. If you have a city view, request an upper floor. Our room was not in the best shape. The sink was junk, paint was chipping, behind the front door there was a dent, like someone kicked it and finally the drain in the tub did not work properly. "Pleasant stay, big room, clean & comfortable, safe"
We really pleasantly happy with our recent stay at The Queen Kapiolani hotel in Waikiki, Hawaii. We book through 3rd party, which we are not recommending. Better book the hotel from their own website. The staff at the hotel are very helpful and always with smile. From the Front desk, House keeping, even the porter that keep our bags after we check out, […] before we left to airport, they charge us for free. Well we only have bag pack one per person and there's only two of us. But still, great service. We order the nice room that have the city and mountain view, and how amazing that we got it, on the 17th floor, with our own private balcony and the wall with all big windows to enjoy the beauty of the surrounding without any obstacles around us, since the hotel is located conveniently and our high floor adds to the better viewing. Sunrise was AMAZING from our balcony. I would totally recommend this hotel to anyone. We would love to come back and stay here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
