"Comfortable&spacious/walking distance to the mall"
While we enjoyed our stay at this site, there were some issues that needed improvement. The front desk and housekeeping staff were professional and courteous, but not always able to solve problems as they arose. Another family on our floor had requested adjoining rooms, but anther guest had to be moved late in the evening to accommodate this large family […] with young children. Our room had a lot of dust on the desk and end table surfaces and the wastebaskets and bathroom were not clean when we arrived. One could tell that the bathroom was not cleaned well during our stay.That being said, the room was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was delicious, but be prepared to wait during peak hours of operation. On one night of our stay, there was a large party. Many of these party goers parked in the hotel parking lot. As a guest in the hotel, I had to park offsite because there was no room left i n the lot. The party was supposed to end at midnight, but continued long afterwards, which disturbed guests in nearby rooms. I was disappointed that my vehicle remained offsite all night, because the party did not end as scheduled and the parking/ valet employees were not prepared to handle such a large crowd. WE were not able to use the workout room because it was overrun with young children, despite the sign that prohibited children from using the fitness facility. I booked an executive suite, supposed to be a room in the top 4 floors, upgraded amenities, free breakfast buffet, etc. When I arrived to check in, there were no executive suites available, but I had already booked it, and paid for it?!? I received a 13th floor room instead, and was promised it was the same thing. I did not receive any of the Executive […] room upgraded amenities. The booking was for 4adults/1child, and I had to fight for the supposed included free breakfast buffet, because check-in forgot to give me the coupons. The hotel had a party booked for that evening, which got out of hand and the police and fire department had to get involved. It was so crowded, guests were having trouble just getting in the front doors. Due to the party, the bar/lounge was unavailable, and the pool was too crowded to enjoy. Parking also became a nightmare. My booking included free parking in the garage, which became full due to that party so hotel guests were having to park across the street in a retail parking lot. The party lasted until 3-4am and the whole time, car alarms were constantly going off in the overcrowded parking garage, which echoed right through the windows/curtains of my 13th floor room facing that direction. If someone doesn't have my horrible luck, then it might be a great hotel. The room was nice, but I cannot comment on the Executive upgrade, cause I didn't receive it. My stay started off great but the second night I was living in heat. The AC unit did not work. However the mantance guy came out to fix AC unit but two hours later it went back to heat. the hotel itself trys its hardest to please you, but things are going to happen. my basic problem was just that basic but very important to me, morning coffee. my coffee maker didn't work and got one replaced within an half hour and pot of coffee to drink while pot being replaced. the next morning this coffee pot didn't work either so called up and […] got another pot that didn't work either just because no place to put coffee, that brought a very nice manager who brought a keurig to which u guessed didn't work but we found out why, the plug was the problem. we moved the pot to the bathroom plug and pot worked perfectly.My stay was great and only other problem was safe being almost to the floor and hard to read directions but probablly my fault being older and eyesight not best as young man. We called at 2 am in the morning. I had been stranded with car trouble from Dallas attending a funeral in Houston. I needed to find immediate lodging so I went to your site Hotels.com, connected with Double Tree Hotels, asked if they would let me check in early and they said yes. Got to the Hotel during their morning audit and was placed on as 30- 45 […] minute wait. Very exhausted I asked if they could possibly get me in earlier. No able to do so initially I was set to wait. Called Hotels.com and they contacted the Hotel and was able to get me in immediately. The Hotel apologized and supplied courtesy parking with an upgraded room and allowed me to check in earlier than anticipated and allowed for late check out. What a wonderful experience. The elevator service is really really slow. If you stay at the Doubletree Hotel it took us like 10 minutes to get on the elevator. so if you stay there its best you take the stairs because the elevators are very very slow.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
