"An Excellent Hotel for Business Travelers"

Comfortable, clean, affordable, pleasant atmosphere; this hotel's only shortcoming is that it charges daily for wireless internet access (I consider this criminal given the cost to set up a free wireless network). The good news is that the Suites offer a happy hour from 5:30-7 during which beer, wine, and most mixed drinks are free! Armed with this, I was able to offset the cost of my wireless and enjoyed a most comfortable stay in this hotel. It's stumbling distance from La Playa (an outstanding Tex-Mex restaurant), Outback, and Cracker Barrel, and is right on the TX358 service drive, so it's only about a 10-minute drive to Corpus Christi Army Depot (NAS-CCAD). I look forward to staying in this hotel again.

This hotel decor looks trapped in the 80's. The air conditioner did not work in my room. I missed breakfast because the hotel was full of soccer kids and the line for breakfast was extremely long and not moving. Because of all this I don't feel this hotel gave the expected Embassy Suites value. When I mentioned thsi to the staff when they asked "how was your stay?" upon checkout they were indifferent.

Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Nov 30, 2009
The hotel definitely has several strong points to recommend it: indoor swimming pool and spa, great breakfast buffet and happy hour but it has also negative points: the bathroom was very, very small and so were the beds. The room was not very comfortable. As we have two children, it was a little crowded for the 4 of us with such a small bathroom! But the staff at the hotel was very nice and helpful. I knew the Embassy Suites in Dallas-Fort Worth and was a little disappointed. But again, the pool and the extras were very good. Hard decision. I don't know if we would go back. I had to click "yes" on the question "would you recommend this hotel?" (no option to escape it) but if I could I would have sais Yes and No.

We loved this hotel. The location is convenient for anything you'd want to do in Corpus Christi, and only a quick 15 minute drive from the beautiful Padre Balli Park beach. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful while we stayed the whole week. The breakfast is great, and varied enough that we never felt the need to go out for breakfast. The bathroom is a little smaller than we would have liked, but our busy 2 year old loved running all around the room and playing. The bed was extremely comfortable, we slept better here than at home. Can't wait to come back next year!

The front desk staff was fantastic; the breakfast was great with lots of options (though some of the hotel guests were quite "informal" to put it nicely); the only problems we really had were the parking (get there early in the evening if you want a spot - though it was a holiday weekend, so I'm sure they were completely booked) and the housekeeping service... let me explain - we left the "do not disturb" sign on the door throughout our stay so we didn't have strangers in and out of our room with our things, so every evening, we needed to call and have someone come by to switch out our towels - the front desk was very nice, but each time it took about 30 minutes + for someone to show up with towels - and if you go to Corpus enough, you know that "beach funk" all over you isn't fun to wait around in. I would stay there again in a heartbeat though - for the price on Labor Day weekend, you can't find that kind of quality and service (maybe I'll just bring my own towels). ;)

The room was very clean and accommodating. It was nice to be able to walk out of the room onto the open balcony that opens to the atrium and inside pool. We were surprised to get a cook to order complimentary breakfast and complimentary happy hour in the evening. There were several televisions in the atrium available to the guests, even after they stopped serving meals or the bar had closed. The personnel was very nice and friendly. The only downfall was the children screaming and running through the balcony areas, especially in the evening when trying to settle down for the night.

I have three kids and the kids loved the hotel there was an indoor pool, an area for an arcade, and a full breakfest for the whole family along with a happy hour for us adults. Well worth the money we spent. The only down fall was that there was not free wifi for our laptop we had to pay an extra charge of $9.00. Other than that we loved it. We will be going back soon.

My family (2 adults, 2 children) stayed here last week. My inlaws stayed in another room and the hotel staff was able to place them right next to us. Staff was very nice and knowledgeable. The breakfast variety is wonderful--the kids had everything (pancakes, bacon, french toast, fruit, cereal, omelettes, etc..) they wanted offered--you will not leave hungry. Even though the bathrooms were pretty small, the rooms were large and well made up for the small bathrooms. A tv in both the bedroom and living area was awesome...beds were comfy...a/c was wonderful. It is not next to the beach, so it did not smell musty/dirty like a lot of the hotels that are closer to the beach. There are only 3 floors, so it is not over crowded--my kids ran up/down the hallway. We didn't use the pool so I can't comment on that. Plenty of eating/shopping places nearby. We'll definitely stay here again.

The only downfall from our stay was that the one day we did plan to hang out in the hotel and enjoy the pool, the pool was closed for some unknown reason. I did hear complaints of too much chlorine even when it was in working condition...can't say for sure though. We would definitely stay there again.

Decent room for the money. The walls are thin, one can hear the neighbor use the restroom. The doors to each suite are glass, which does not make for a good sound barrier. The full hot breakfast is great when traveling with children. In addition, complimentary drinks in the evening are a plus for the adults. The location of the hotel is not more than 15 minutes from all the attractions. Although, driving distance from the beach, instead of walking distance I would say again.

She is so friendly and helpful :) The cooks at breakfast are very nice and we love the made-to-order full hot breakfasts! The kids absolutely love this indoor pool. We love how this hotel is not huge but very roomy and the rooms are extremelly comfortable and spacious! We will continue staying here in the forthcomming summers but we did experience one downfall this trip. The indoor pool's heater was broken so the water was ice cold our entire stay of 8 days and there was no mention of it when booking...we were completely unable to swim in the pool due to this so we were all really bummed. When we spoke to the front desk about it and inquired when it might be heated back up so we could swim, she was extremelly rude and rolled her eyes at us then turned her back and started talking to the next person. Hopefully, we get to swim next summer because even though this was one bad thing, it's the first bad thing we've experienced in the 5 years we've been comming! An excellent beach is located right down the road along with some great suviouner shops and great eateries!
