I really enjoy this hotel and the staff are great. However, be careful of the overnight girl working the desk. There are always problems with missing restaurant vouchers. This happens to myself and friends that use this hotel. Otherwise, great place.

Convenient to the harbor and old downtown. Easily walked everywhere including a heritage walk of old homes and buildings. Plenty of good restaurants and pubs in the area. There was a casino in the same building and no issue to ignore! Complimentary breakfast was outstanding.

Though I stayed only one night, I wish I had spent additional nights there. True that this hotel is still undergoing some renovation (on the 2nd floor mostly) but didn't experience any maintenance noise or dust as others have experienced. I was on the 3rd floor facing the main road (Victoria St). Likes: 1) Free underground garage (use room key to enter). […] Note, all outside parking lots and street through kamloops are metered or have some fees attached to it. ($0.25 CDN per 30 min). Bring lots of change!. 2) Sidewalks, streets, and parks are clean. Very little to no vandalism. I felt safe there. 3) Nightlife is great. Cactus Jacks and River Night club are the top places to go. All within one block of the hotel too. 4) Shopping and restaurants are all within 1-2 blocks of hotel. After all, this hotel is in city center. 5) Ember lounge, a Casino and the 540 dining restaurants are all within the building. Awesome. 6) The front desk and the rest of the employees throughout the hotel was super nice and just fun to talk too. Dislikes: 1) Since the hotel is on a main street (Victoria st), the noise can bother some if you open the window for fresh air. Either close the window or face the back parking lot. It didn't nother me...I slept well. 2) The tv was supposed to be upgraded to HD flatscreens for the remodel, but mine was still the older 19" CRT and the remote didnt work. No biggie...I did tell the front desk though when i checked out. They encourage people to report room issues so they can address. The remodel folks can miss things...they are humans too. 3) No gym, pool, sauna, spa, etc on premise. It is purely business focused hotel. Overall Read more

Hotel is located in the downtown district and very convenient for food and shopping, underground parking is great and hotel staff friendly, helpful and the hotel was very clean. Reno's were ongoing but not noticeable to us by noise or mess. Excellent stay.

The hotel staff were kind enough to give us a free breakfast to celebrate our anniversary. The restaurant service was slow. We did not realize we would have to pay additional parking and that the hotel was going through renovation/construction during our stay. Overall, the staff made up for the hotels shortcomings.

The location is good being that the hotel is right downtown Kamloops and was very convenient for us. Also that the hotel has its own restaurant was convenient. It is a bit too pricey for what you get, but service is good. There were a couple mistakes with the orders that annoyed one in in our party of 6... The hotel is refurbished. Carpets looked good, […] the bedroom furnishings looked fairly new... the bathroom is where you see that it is older. It is clean but you can see that it doesn't match the room... Liked having the small fridge in the room and coffee maker and separate kettle. Nice touch. The hotel needs to put reminder notices up on the floors to remind guests of when quiet times are. We were on the 4th floor and it was after midnight and we could hear full volume conversations in the hall and some yelling... stupid people! there is a casino next door - we did not visit but could be fun if you have nothing to do. There are convenient shops very close by like London Drugs, Dollarama, ... liquor store... grocery... restaurants, coffee shops... Being downtown Kamloops, the street people can be rough, glad to have had the option of underground secured parking. It is $10/night. Read more

I really enjoyed my stay..had great breakfastes even though the restaurant was under renovations. The service by the young girls was exceptional. Front desk also very helpful. Enjoyed my room very much and the location was great. I will definately stay here again when I return!

Clean nice room, casino attached to the hotel and close to all the action downtown which makes for easy walking. Easy checkin and out which is nice, breakfast was in the hotel which is nice and was tasty. Fixtures in room seemed cheap compared to the quality they were trying to achieve, taps in particular seems $22 from home depot compared to higher […] in hotels one has stayed at...but other than that all was okay. Did not see a pool but understand one is coming this year or fitness centre which I assume will be with the pool. Read more

It was under construction while we were there, so the pool and hot tub were not up and running yet. The room was very clean, the bathroom was a bit small (only great for one person getting ready at a time - we had a king room) and the staff were really efficient about any requests.

CHECK-IN My first impression checking-in was good, the Lobby was clean, and I was greeted immediately. While the person that checked me in was very efficient he seemed to have a bit of an attitude. That being said every other encounter I had with that gentleman throughout my stay was pleasant so it may have been a misconception by me. UNDERGROUND PARKING Our […] car is very low so getting into the underground parking was a little bit more difficult for us, my wife, the driver, actually had to get out of the car to swipe her key card to open the parking gate. This is likely just do to her short arms and our low car but nonetheless a little inconvenient. The parking in the underground lot is pretty standard and there are luggage trollies which is always nice. THE ROOM the room, which was a room with two queen beds, was pretty standard. the lighting is a little awkward the light switch as you enter only turns on the landing room light, so you have to walk to a lamp in the dark to turn on the rest of your room lights individually. Again not a big deal but a little inconvenient. The room seemed clean at first but there were little things like stained towels, hair in the shower, and stained glasses that were a little off putting. We brought a gaming console to pass time in the room and were unable to use it because the tv's manual buttons are locked so that no external devices can be connected. I assume they do this to prevent guests from using a service like netflix. 6/10 Read more

Our room had paint trays and smelled like paint, finally upgraded us to the Club Floor, but still had to pay for parking which was one stall just on the side of the alley. First stay was much better than this last one. Nice hotel, love Embers staff there great. Once the renos are completed I am sure it will be worth the amount they charge.

Not the best location but for a train type town of kamloops not bad. Close to the casino. Room service was good. Would not consider walking around after dark on local streets would get cab. The hotel itself is good and close to shops.

Loved the all white bedding. Didn't have to remove the bedspread and stash it in the closet. My husband is disabled and they were great at accommodating him and his scooter. Excellent stay.I would highly reccomend it.

We had a one night stay on our trip back home. It was the first time staying a this hotel and we were very happy with the room. It was also nice to be away from the highway. The entrance to the hotel is still under construction but that did not impact the quality of our stay here.
