Hotel Jade - Geneva

The hotel is not far from the train station in Geneva and near a busy street, but the room was serene and quiet. Staff was friendly, and the room was clean and comfortable.

Hotel was convenient to Cornavin train station (10 min walk), area restaurants and lake. Room was very clean and nicely appointed. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Only complaint is that the temperature of the room was too hot at night (time of year was March and temperature outside was 32 F).

The room was lovely and quite large for a European hotel. It was very nicely appointed. The only problem was that it was a bit warm and the thermostat did not seem to work. Had a wonderful stay at the Jade Hotel. The room was very attractive, modern and appeared to be new. It was in a better neighborhood than other hotels in which I stayed in Geneva and was close to the train station. The rare was reasonable for a hotel in the center of Geneva. I would definitely recommend it.

This is an excellent hotel on a good, but not picturesque street in Geneva. When you see the hotel from the street, it is not particularly impressive. However, once inside, the hotel is a gem. The room is quite nice, the staff is excellent, and the breakfast was also very good.

This hotel is serviceable and acceptable. It seems to be a good price by Geneva standards. The rooms are small, the breakfast buffet pedestrian, the air quality/climate control a little challenging. Maintenance issues were addressed, employees were professional. Not warm and welcoming, but clean and competent. Like Geneva!

They upgraded us to an executive room since they determined that the room we booked would be uncomfortable small for 3 adults. We received rail/bus/tram passes for 10 zones good for our entire stay. Made the choice to stay here for a night before I took my flight back to the States the next day, and chose the Hotel Jade instead of one near the airport. Boy, was I glad I did! Walked down to the lake, stolled over to Old Town, shopped, ate and enjoyed the beautiful city, and then had a great walk back. Hotel is conveniently two blocks from the transit […] buses ( available free through hotel transit pass), which are just two stops from the main train station. Airport is five minutes from that stop via train. It was easy, and I would recommend it as a great alternative to seeing the city, and still saving money. You don't get things like slippers and a robe in your room, but the room itself and the bathroom are large and spacious - even by American standards. This is the largest room we've had out of any hotel we've stayed in throughout Europe. Everything was well maintained and clean and the decor was nice enough without being over the top or intrusive. Sophie […] at the front desk was really helpful and welcoming. Breakfast has a nice selection: cold cut meats, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, eggs for boiling, pastries, bread, Nespresso coffee, tea, juice, fruit, cereal, muesli, yogurts and cheese. Worth the 18 CHF and there's a nice, covered outdoor dining area, too. As a visitor to Geneva, hotels are required to give you free public transport cards. You can also travel for free from the airport on public transport but you need to get a ticket which is good for about 80 minutes. A taxi ride costs about 40 CHF and take 15 minutes - the same time it takes on public transport. The elevator is tiny. We fit three people with three small bags. The official capacity (according to the plaque in the elevator) is four persons but the night manager recommended we limit it to two. We didn't have a problem but his comment makes me wonder if people have gotten stuck before. The neighborhood itself doesn't have much going on but it isn't a far walk to the UN (15 minutes) or the lake (7 minutes). And the Cornavin train station and bus station are nearby as well. It's about a 5 minute walk from the Cornavin train station where you can catch the tram to CERN or to Carouge (cute artsy neighborhood - small boutiques not luxury brands and good prices on food and drinks). We didn't have any problems with street noise as our room faced an interior courtyard area. Our friends' room faced the street but they didn't complain about noise, either. Read more

Wonderful Boutique Hotel. Part of a very nice small chain on hotels in the area. It is listed as a 3 star but should be a 4. The manager even said that they wanted to make it a 4 star but they have one across the street that is, so they left it 3. Very large nice room with nespresso machine.

Don't let the outside fool you, the inside is clean and modern. The front desk staff were very helpful, fluent in English and extremely nice. The hotel was modern, clean and comfortable. The rooms were spacious and the bathrooms were large, and made with nice marble. If I return to Geneva, I will certainly stay at Hotel Jade.
