Stayed at the Langham for New Year's Eve. The spa and pool are excellemt, as was the lobby. The rooms are elegant, though not as updated as you might hope at this price. The restaurant is overpriced. The neighborhood is pretty dead on non weekdays, so don't expect lots of amenities and nice restaurants within walking distance.

Only had one night at the Langham. Wish I could have stayed a week! I found the room extremely comfortable, clean and pleasant for all my needs. Had a fantastic sleep after enjoying dinner in the hotel restaurant, the Bond. Decided to postpone a museum trip in the morning just so I could enjoy the quiet space, and to take a relaxing bath and to read the "Globe" in bed with my complimentary coffee.

The staff was uniformly excellent and helpful. The front desk switched us from a room with one to two double beds after we checked in and our daughters decided they wanted to stay in the hotel instead of the college dorm. One concierge gave us an excellent recommendation for a restaurant in the North End. A second concierge pointed us in the right direction when one of my daughters needed some clothes. And, the brunch was a nice experience, albeit pricey.

We had a lovely Christmas family getaway weekend at The Langham in Boston. Can't beat the location if you want to be near the sparkling lights of Quincy Market, Faneuil Hall, and the Boston Common. Spacious, clean room (even with two double beds) for our family of three. Relaxed after a day of shopping with a little exercise in the gym and then a dip in the Zen-atmosphere pool and hot tub. Really lovely place for a mini-holiday.

Not good - arrived late and my room key didn't work The TV reception was unwatchable virtually on every channel. When I asked for a receipt I was told it would come in an Email. Nothing. I every sent a follow-up Email requesting a receipt nothing.

Room is large and clean. Has coffee maker, slippers, an iron, robes and many amenities. I asked to make restaurant reservation at concierge desk and the restaurant treated us as V.I.P guests with special menu and complimentary desert. My nephew enjoined swimming poor as well. He asked to stay more and didn't want leave!

Excellent. Perfect for long weekend in Boston. Exemplary staff. Luxurious touches. Crisp, clean scents throughout. Staff informative, polite, and helpful. Room very clean. "Black-out" curtains ideal for sleeping in. Room service was prompt. Doorman very helpful w/luggage and hailing cabs. Short walk to Faneuil Hall. We strolled up to a couple pubs near Faneuil, and continued the short walk into the North End for unbelievable Italian dinner. Will definitely be staying at the Langham again.

The lobby was full of well dressed business men and escorts. Traveled with a child and upon arrival men at the front desk were busy all three of them on there phones. I stood in front of them for at least 10 mins before anyone looked up. When I told them we had a child with our group they snickered. Guest services?? Not really... We walked into a room that was heavily perfumed. It automatically caused my throat to close and eyes to water. When we called down to the front desk to change rooms we were told that it was the hotels signature scent. We were denied a new room. Moments later a man arrived with what he called a "smoke tab"... It just happened to be the same awful scent that was already in the room. He removed the pre-existing "smoke tab" and brought us a fan instead. We let the room air out and ordered room service. A robe was sent for my child that had been bleached and possible starched. Awful. Room service was terrible and overpriced. The very sad part about this hotel is that there is an obvious disconnect between the front desk (pretentious and unaccommodating) and the people who actually do work there... Maintenance, house keeping, valet, all very nice. Would not stay there again.

This was one of nieces hotels I have been. We got an upgrade to a beautifully large room which was very rich and classic designed.The ice bucket was partly full with ice when we got it to the room, which explains the high service the hotel gives. there is a pool and a hot tub which is open until 10:00 pm. Self parking is available for $12 for 24 hours (ask the hotel reception desk person to stamp your parking ticket).

The hotel entrance, service of the doorman, receptionist was wonderful just like excepted from a 4 star hotel. But the cleanliness of the bathroom is way below the standard of a 4 star hotel. First, the bathtub had lot's of short pieces of hair which I realized after I started the shower and too late for me to complain. They had a bathmat on the side of the bathtub, but even under that bath mat there were pieces of hair. It was disgusting. Even though the location is great, this is the far worst experience I had in any of the hotels in Boston. Will not come back considering the price of the room... not worth it.

I had the chance to stay at this very nice place before I went to visit my family members. The location is perfect as soon as you leave the airport there's a bus that takes you directly to the south station and the hotel is within walking distance from there. Lots of attractions near by as well as restaurants

This was our first stay at this hotel and we would happily stay there again. The service was very helpful and friendly. The location, in the city's financial and business district, was very convenient for our purposes as we wanted to be near the train station (South Station) and the waterfront, both of which were only about a 10 minute walk away. There's also a sweet little park right across the street and many little cafes and food places nearby. I can't comment on the hotel's restaurants because we ate all our meals out but our superior room was large, handsomely decorated, and very clean and comfortable with a king bed and excellent bed linens. The bathroom had fluffy towels and robes and slippers, although I wish the tub were a bit more luxurious -- it was rather shallow and the toiletries weren't anything special (taking baths in hotels is a treat for me as I only have a shower at home) but this is a minor point. Excellent free WiFi was very robust.

Managed to secured a last minute discounted deal through Expedia. Check-in was hassle free. The room is very big and comfortable with ceiling height close to 5 meters (15 feet) as the building was built more than 150 years ago. Had a little problem with the coffee machine but was replaced by housekeeper immediately. Check out was hassle free.

First of all, the place is beautiful. Second, the evening doorman, Dan, was very nice. I only had an overnight bag, but he asked twice if he could carry it. I had an in-room breakfast, which was basic; eggs, wheat toast and bacon. All were hot and good. I ordered orange juice with note requesting no pulp. Food service called to say their OJ has pulp. I asked if they wouldn't mind straining it, and they did. The OJ was good. I think the only thing I had an issue with is no defining area for standing on-line when checking in or out. I don't know if the Langham Boston doesn't want to use a rope method because it takes away from that initial charm, but it wouldn't offend me. Only because people who were waiting for someone to sign in were crowding the area and I had to ask if they were waiting on line, they were not. Another gentleman came off the elevator and walked right over to the check-out counter announcing he was checking out. I explained to him that there was a line. Also. the check-out person told him the same and he got pretty upset and stormed off, but not before slamming his keys down on the counter and stating all he wanted to do was check out. That's why I believe a more controlled front/check in/out area would be nice.

great staff, great rooms. Great pool and sauna and overall pretty clean. Room was large and in good shape. The only issue I had was that the walls are pretty thin and when people go into their rooms the doors slam pretty hard. So noise was certainly an issue. Other than that I highly recommend this place. The location is close to every downtown landmark and a quick walk to shops and stores.

I went on an impromptu overnight stay with my husband on business. We found this hotel at the last minute for a somewhat reasonable price compared to other hotels in the Boston Wharf Road area. Everything about the hotel was perfect. Professional and helpful staff. They upgraded our Queen bed room to a King at no cost. So clean and gorgeous. High ceilings, comfortable bedding, clean bathroom, clean rug, large window with room darkening thick curtains for sleeping but great light when open. Nice and quiet, could not hear the neighbors through the wall. Everything from the chocolates on our pillow to the slippers left for me besides the bed was just fantastic. The hotel had special touches throughout our stay. Easy valet parking except $40 fee a little steep, but I'm sure that's typical of the Boston area. My husband walked to work the next day and we spent the day in boston after his meetings...great food, shopping and water views in this area. We will definitely go back! Top Notch!
