We got a very good deal through Hotel.com. During our search for a hotel we noticed there are very high parking fee for hotels in SanFrancisco so we took that into concideration when making our decision. Westin SF was the only one that did not list a different SUV fee just a flat $48 parking fee. I called The hotel directly about the parking fee and was told it would be $48. When we arrived we were asked if we wanted to valet we said yes we want to valet park our SUV and were told it was $48. We were also told there is a number on the ticket to call ahead so our car would be ready and waiting whenever we were ready to go somewhere. We called that evening to get the car and we were never able to get through. The next morning there was a bill placed under our door for our parking fee and it was for $74....I was shocked and upset as I already thought $48 was way too much. This was not a good start to the morning. When I told the front desk that on three occasions I was told $48 but charged an additional $15 SUV fee (plus tax) I was told they could not remove it unless I got it okd by the parking garage manager. I had to go outside across the garage driveway to a little booth and again explain the situation. He seemed very annoyed with me for complaining and even more annoyed because in the end he had to ok the front desk to reduce the fee. In addition when we called repeatedly that day we were again never able to get anyone on the phone to bring the car up and had to wait about 20 minutes for our car. Come to find out there is a public parking garage across the street that only charges $20 per day regardless of the type of car you have. Despite the parking issue the hotel was very nice. The doorman recommended a great restaraunt that we really enjoyed. The other down side to our stay was the alarm clock (which I did not set) going off at 7am. I have small kids and this was going to be a rare occasion that I could sleep in and was awoke at 7am and was not able to go bac

We were appalled by our stay here. First, rooms are very small. The service was awful. Christmas season and twice, no one was at valet for our car (2 nights out of four). We had to request at front desk for bellman both to take our bags in and out. The line at front desk was always long, and generally the English spoken by room service and housekeeping was not good. I had to be transferred several times to get various requests answered. Housekeeping was the worst. Rooms not very clean and nothing would get replaced. We had to call to get coffee in room replaced, towels, etc. Just totally unacceptable for a Westin. Honestly, it was like the standards of a Comfort Inn. We stay in SF once a month and I would neither recommend this hotel nor ever stay here again - there are MUCH better options for your money. Not at all a bargain here. The location is its redeeming quality and why we chose this hotel because if you are interested in shopping on Market street/union square, this is central. Also very close to several museums. PS If you bring a car, expect to pay above $50./night for a car.

#1 pet peeve, a tray of candy taking up precious counter space with a little sign saying we would be charged within 10 seconds for anything removed. I asked the front desk to have all those items removed. Some guy threw the candy in a bucket, left the tray, and guess what--there were impossible min-bar charges ($9) added to my bill that I disputed and am told will be removed. The location is excellent and at least they provide Starbucks coffee with a one-cup coffee maker (but of course not enough fixings for everyone staying in the room). The concierge were a plus but unnecessarily hoity-toity. When I wanted to find an ATM inside a building that would give me a receipt (theirs won't) they tried to send me 2 blocks away until I persisted and they admitted there was one at the liquor store next door, very handy, with less charges than theirs, and a receipt). They acted like I was a peasant because I didn't want to wait for Chase to open its doors and go inside, but would prefer to go next door and use the simple ATM when I needed it. Overall, you got the feeling they working against you instead of with you. Still, the location and Starbucks in the room kind of redeemed them.

We booked the Westin for a recent family vacation. We have two small children ages 3 and 1. I called the day of our reservation to make sure there was a crib in our room when we arrived. I was told that a crib would not fit in our room (which was a double queen) and I was shocked! I wish that this was disclosed when I booked with an infant. Service with Westin over the phone to resolve the problem was not great but when we arrived at the hotel they moved us to a King room that would accomodate the crib. The front desk ended up being very helpful. We enjoyed our stay at the Westin. It was very clean and stylish, the staff was super helpful, and the rooms were nice. The location was great as well. We would book this hotel again.

The hotel is located right in the heart of upper-middle end shopping which my wife and girls loved. San Francisco is a must city to shop, sight-see, and dine with friends and family. The only problem with the hotel is the stocked room bar errors which were consistently made on a daily basis. The hotel staff admitted that there was a problem and hotel management was looking into correcting the problem.

The hotel was great -- parking was a bit stiff (but it always is) -- great location in SF. The only issue we had was with the mini-bar and snack tray. The little sign warning us that "anything picked up would automatically register on our bill in 10 seconds" was missing, so my 13-year-old son examined a can of M&Ms, ka-ching - $ on our bill. Call to the front desk number one. Then we noticed that some of the coke bottles (with their curvy shape) were lying on their sides in the little fridge. Ka-ching. We were charged when the bar was restocked the next day (I believe it was the previous guest who had ripped off the bar). Second call to the front desk. The we noticed that the airline size bottle of Johnny Walker Red was also on its side (same as the coke, but we had not noticed before). Third call to the front desk -- actually this was in person as I was checking out. "You should be more careful with the mini-bar!" I was told. Otherwise a good stay at a classy hotel. Why kill the guests with mini-bar issues?

I reserved and paid for a King bed room. When I arrived, I asked the gal at the front counter if they had enough rooms to upgrade me to a higher floor. She didn't even pretend to check the computer and told me "no." When I got to my room it had a Queen bed. I called down and she told me it'd be an hour before they could get a King room ready. At that point I was planning on being out for the night and didn't want a bell-hop moving my stuff for me without my being there (laptop, etc.), so I blew it off. I asked the valet attendant how busy they were and he told he "dead." I figured, and when I got back that night I let the girl know behind the counter (in front of her manager) that I was NOT pleased. The manager offered to upgrade my room, but I told them it was too late at that point. The net-net is that the rooms are OK, the hotel is OK, but there are better hotels in the city where the hotel crew will bend over to make you happy right now (the economy being what it is). This Westin won't be getting my business again.

There was barely room to walk around the bed, there was nowhere to sit and there was nowhere besides the floor to put our luggage. The bathroom was also tiny had had an annoying energy-efficient light bulb that took a couple of minutes to actually fully illuminate. The location was decent and the place is probably ok if you're in town for business in the financial district. I don't recommend it for any extended stays.
