I always choose a Westin when traveling because it's always a nice quality.

I should first say that the valet man was very friendly and helpful by suggesting a cheaper place to park that cost us half of what they charged and it was in the same parking structure behind the hotel. The room was not very clean though. There was someones used wash cloth left in our shower and hair shavings left on the shower curtain....it was gross. Over all I wasn't impressed with the amount of money we paid.

The room itself was OK. Of course it was very clean. The only downside is that the bathroom was quite small. Just enough room for the shower, sink and toilet... just. Overall, good hotel in a great location, but it won't WOW you. I staid for business, so it did the trick just fine. The hotel also has a fitness area with a decent number of treadmills, ellipticals and some free weights/nautalis.

I booked this room days before I was to see Wicked at the Orpheum on a Friday of Labor Day weekend. The room was immaculate and comfortable. I think that the pillows could have been better, I've had better pillows at lower end hotels. I drove in and paid around $50 for valet. I thought that was "fair" because the hotel is walking distance to many things-shopping, the theatre district, restaurants. I thought that the customer service in the hotel was good, but I had breakfast at Ducca (the hotel restaurant) and the service was.. ehh.. crap. The hostess seemed distracted, and was not friendly at all. I had no clue who my server really was (there were three different guys serving us), and I had to ask for everything specifically on my own. I felt like I might as well have been serving myself. I also worked out at the gym on the fourth floor. It was a decent sized gym for a quick workout, but i have stayed at lesser hotels with more complete gyms in the past-so I was a little disappointed. If u are looking for a comfortable night's stay with convenience, I think this hotel is worth the money. I was slightly disappointed in the service. The entire hotel seemed a little chaotic.

We stayed on the 36th (top) floor and had a nice view of the bay (Alcatraz); if we stood close to the window, we could also see the Bay Bridge and Golden Gate bridge. As advertised, the beds are extremely comfortable. The dual shower heads make the shower an equally luxurious experience. The decor is neutral but pleasant. I'd be happy to stay there again, and will also seek out Westin hotels for other trips now that I've experienced their "heavenly bed."

From the moment we arrived the staff was incredibly friendly and accomodating. The room was very comfortable and clean. The double shower head in the bathroom was a bonus after a long day of walking. Great views of Alcatraz and the bay bridge. They didn't miss a thing there were even wine glasses in your rooms. Beds very comfortable and the best part was walking into the lobby everyday. A large table with the most beautiful orchids and hydrangea's sat on it and set off the most incredible aroma every time you open the doors. It was also very centrally located across the street from a nice little bar with very reasonable drinks and food. My only negative to the entire stay at the Westin was the incredibly over priced restaurant. We had our most expensive meal of the trip there and it was breakfast. Talk about sticker shock. We had 2 cups of coffee, 2 orange juices, eggs benedict(not very good btw) and an omelette. The other nice feature the hotel had was a courtyard with a firepit which was nice to sit and have an overly priced glass of wine at. Yes again very expensive but still a nice place for happy hour. Will most absolutely recommend this place to anyone, just eat elsewhere.

We had the unfortunate timing to get there right after another party who had some problem with their credit card- which the man at the front desk was being completely atrocious about, even though (from what I could tell) it was mostly the hotel's fault. He didn't call another person to help him until there were about three other parties behind us, so we were stuck in the lobby for close to twenty minutes, and could. not. breathe. the whole time. According to the television, it's supposed to be "embracing your senses" with "relaxing sights, sounds, and even smells". It smelled as though a Perfumania exploded. I can't imagine what someone with asthma or allergies more severe than mine would do. The room was great, very narrow and cubicle-like, but still spacious and pretty luxurious. The bed is divine. Just make sure you don't touch the tray of goodies on top of the counter- they tuck the card away behind the tray so you have to look for it, but it's an "automated" tray (and mini-fridge), so if you breathe on something wrong you'll get charged for it. And definitely plan on eating elsewhere- there's some really great restaurants within walking distance, and honestly, you're not gonna get me to pay $17 for a stack of pancakes from room service (that's it, just pancakes- nothing with them). A couple of other ways we saved a boatload of money: Parking- there's street parking, if you look for it. We parked on Jessie Street, maybe a block away from the hotel, in a zone that appears to be a no-parking zone to anyone who doesn't know what to look for. The signs in SF that say "No Parking" usually have a day and time underneath that tell you when you can't park there, and any other time is fair game. Also, internet- if you have a wireless card, there are a handful of unsecured networks in the neighborhood that you can access for free- instead of paying the $15 a day fee (I think that's all it was, but I don't remember since we didn't pay it). They can be a little frustratin

When I checked in on the first day, there had been some sort of mistake and they tried to put me in a Deluxe Room instead. When I pointed out the mistake, the lady at Reception was incredibly nice and immediately moved me to a Premier room. From there, things were wonderful. We spent our 40th wedding anniversary at the SF Weston. We took advantage of as many of the theaters, restuarants and Giants games as we could squeeze in in a 3 day weekend. The Weston was in walking distance of every thing we wanted to see. The view from the 27th floor was an added bonus. Breath taking!

The location, quality of the room, and service are fantastic. The only drawback is $50 for parking per night.

Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Jun 22, 2009
I found a good deal on this thru hotels.com. I am almost always happy with Westin Hotels. This was no exception. I had some travel troubles which could have made my checkin tough but they readily accomodated me. Later in the week my flight home was cancelled due to bad weather at home. I called the hotel directly to try to get another night and couldn't. Ended up staying at a lesser hotel for more money. Wish I would have thought to go online to see if hotels.com had something available immediately for this situation.

Lovely hotel with smaller than average rooms as is to be expected in major metropolitan cities. But the heavenly beds live up to their advertising promise.

I was surprised that bath soap, extra facial tissue was not replaced as needed. Asked for a clean face towel not supplied.

Right in between shopping district and financial district. Right at the corner of the street car and the BART. Could not ask for anything more
