"One night in Dublin"
Just ok.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Pretty Good Hotel"
Friendly, helpful staff. Pillows were super thin. Quieter part of Dublin, about a 30 minute walk to downtown.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great location, but badly needs a update."
The people at the check in desk were great, very helpful. The bar tenders were very bad terrible service. The hotel needs to be remodelled badly.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Old hotel, run down.Beat up furniture, smallest TV on the planet and lots and lots of stains all over the place.Genuine Expedia guest review
Hotel claims premium bedding but I could feel the springs in the mattress. The press in the room did not work. No microwave or refrigerator but did have a water heater. We used the complimentary tea the first day and did not get another refill for a week. There was a chair in the room with some sort of disgusting stain on it. Other than these issues […] the staff was ok, location was great for what we needed, restraunt had good food too. I stayed because of the great proce I got but likely would not stay again. "nice for short stay"
This is a good place for a short stay but a longer stay one might want a place closer to city center. If a fridge or a safe for your valuables are important to you, this is not the place for you. Breakfast buffet is wonderful but if you can wait until you get into the city, a full Irish breakfast is about 5Euro. Everyone was nice and helpful at the […] hotel, room was clean and quiet. This hotel is owned by the Irish government after going into bankruptcy. The entire hotel needs serious updating. The TV is vintage, beds are poor, Magic marker writing on the carpet in the room. Even the bar as nice as it could be was out of most beer , amazing for Ireland.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Had a wonderful stay. Great location with blue bus direct to and from the airport. Staff was friendly and very friendly.Genuine Expedia guest review
"A Good Walking Site"
Convenient to Lansdowne Road Dart station. Embassy/residential type neighborhood with leafy side streets off of Northumberland Road. Good bus service from hotel area. Seemed very safe. Hotel itself shows well from exterior. Had a double room. Beds very hard/ pillows meager. Great bathroom. HVAC was good. TV was tube type and small. Limited station selection...surely […] Ireland has good digital service avail. Staff was not particularly engaging-stiff. Business center was not free access and no free wifi.....bummer. Food expensive at restaurant. Probably not a repeat visit facility for me. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Fits the bill"
A good hotel if using it as a base of operation for sightseeing etc. An easy 25 minute walk from Stephen's Green with plenty of spots in between for eating and/or drinking. Convenient bus stop just outside the door that services the airport as well as local buses to get you to the city center if you choose not to take the pleasant walk. The room was […] clean and quiet. Odd that they don't provide free internet connectivity but you can buy unlimited time for about 5 Euro per day. I'd stay there again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We had a great time at the Ballsbridge hotel. There aren't necessarily all of the services (we took our own bag to our room), but it is fairly new, clean, and has friendly staff. We walked into town each day, and enjoyed live music in the bar on certain nights. We would definitely stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient location,affluent area"
The staff were cordial and helpful, our room was comfortable, the food in the dining room was excellent. They provide blow dryer-- this was good. There was plenty of hot water. There was a coffee/tea pot and instant packages for breakfast pick-me-up.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Found the hotel great in service, location and comfort. Had a pleasant stay. Location of hotel was close to railroad and bus stops. I would recommend this hotel as a great place to stay.Genuine Expedia guest review
Very good!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Loved the hotel. Easy to get to from the airport. We were able to check in early for a small fee which was very helpful since we had flown all night.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Meets basic needs - don't expect much"
I'm a pretty no frills traveler - all I require is "safe and clean". The hotel was safe, but cleanliness is an issue. Mold on the bathroom walls, peeling paint from the ceilings, broken telephone, stained blanket, and a mattress that was stained by something that could have been blood or old coffee (I only discovered this as I was checking out!). The […] heater rattled loudly at night, and there is noise from the street. The walls are thin, and I was woken every night by other guests in the hallway or in their rooms. The hairdryer is for some reason attached to the desk in such a way that the only way to use it is if you are kneeling (clearly, a woman did not design this!). The faucet on the bidet was broken. The hotel is quite a walk to city center (about 20-25 minutes), which can be hard if you are the kind of traveler who likes to put your feet up for part of the day. The property is in massive need of refurbishing. You can tell the hotel was once very lovely (perhaps in the early 90s), but has not been cared for much since then. I would not stay here again. I was not sad to leave. On the neutral side, the bed is quite firm. That's great if you like firm beds. It's not great if you prefer soft beds. On the positive side, I will say the staff was very nice and kind. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Ballsbridge Hotel (previously D4 Ballsbridge Inn)"
My husband and I stayed at the Ballbridge Hotel (known at the time of our booking as the D4 Ballsbridge Inn) over St. Patrick's weekend with our friends. Our hotel room was spacious, but left something to be desired. The television was tiny compared to the room and was impossible to watch from the bed. Our room was missing a trash can, so our trash […] ended up on the floor next to the tiny bathroom trash can. There is no information book in the room, so we had to guess how to call the front desk and from room to room. Our bed also had a mattress pad instead of a proper mattress. Also, although the staff were not rude, they did seem indifferent about our comfort or happiness. The hotel has apparently been recently purchased by new owners and renamed, so they could not bring us a new information book and refused to bring us an old one. On the positive side, there was a closet with enough room to store both our bags and hang our clothes and the bathroom and bedroom were large and clean. The hotel is very close to the American and Israeli Embassies and an unfortunately long walk to the city center. The bus system in Dublin is fairly expensive, so it was a 40 minute walk to the Grafton Street area each morning. The hotel breakfast was expensive, so we walked into town to eat each day. All in all the Ballsbridge in is not a bad hotel, but it is certainly not great, and could use some improvement. For the location and price I think we could have gotten a better value hotel elsewhere. I would not stay here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient to bus routes, the city and DunLaoghair"
Lacking the little things, Kleenex. Use of certain credit cards not accepted in different part of hotel. Missed important wake-up calls. Poor response to numerous calls to repair telephone.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

I had to stay in Dublin overnight as I had early appointment in Hospital the following am. I found the overall experience very good. The receptionist ,cannot remember her name, but you should know her from records, was so friendly, bubbly, full of chat she was a delight and excellent for the foreign visitors coming in, to get a ist taste of Irish hospitality. "Great stay. Nice place."
Had a great stay here. Everything was lovely. Will definitely stay again. If I had one small criticism, there is a lack of plug sockets in the room and the ones that are there are too close to the floor to get anything into them.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
All staff were very nice had a great time a bit shocked that we had to pay for parking $21 for 2 night stayGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Enjoyed a one night stay at this hotel. Very convenient for Dublin City Centre. Spotless clean. Friendly Staff. Lovely Breakfast. The only problem I had, was having to pay €10.50 per night for parking. Have stayed in hotels all over Europe and have never had to pay for parking. Should be complimentary.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"REview Jan 15"
Very friendly and helpful staff Great location for RDS, Landsdowne Road etc and city centre is very accessible. Herbert Park nearby is nice for energetic kids or an evening stroll to clear the headGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not a great choice"
This hotel is unfortunately not really a Dublin hotel as it is on the outskirts and realistically its too far to walk to town so we spent a lot on taxis. The hotel itself is average, and the entrance has a very noisy bar area that you have to pass through to get to the rooms. If i had kids I would not be happy with this and also during the night our […] door handle was tried a few times which was really frightening. There doesnt seem to be any security to stop random drinkers wandering the corridors which again we found alarming. We wouldnt stay here again Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Decent value for a good hotel."
Great location, had a nice two night stay. Delicious full Irish breakfast was had. Had to pay 7 euros for wifi per day- a service I believe should be free in every hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great location. Hotel was ok. Shower was a bit like my parents 1980's shower. Like the rest of the hotel did the job. Would stay here again if needed hotel in area if the price was right.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Value for money in Dublin"
Probably the best value for money in Dublin that evening - made this known to the staff on departure. A little bit "through other" in certain areas but more than compensated for by the staff's desire to make the stay a pleasent oneGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Location & good value!"
Ideal location - very central ! And the area is very vibrant - plenty lively bars & good restaurants just around the corner. Our room was nice & modern as was reception, the bar & restaurant. Unfortunately there was work being done in the hotel so the drilling & hammering started at 9am. I was not impressed - I was looking forward to a nice relaxing […] morning!!! No chance! "Nice location hotel needs updating"
The hotel while clean is very dated. No hot water for a shower in the morning although we did find a notice afterwards advising us of maintenance work. Hotel room and bathroom were clean but very dated, the hotel feels like it needs to be updated. Staff are friendly and the food in the Dubliner was nice and very reasonably priced.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Disappointed with the standard and interior of this hotelGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Rugby weekend so location was ideal, couldn't have been better! Hotel was a little tired, bedroom doors nicked and dented, bathroom could do with updating and the noise from the elevator was quite loud, but the service was top notch!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Inefficient check-in, not a great room"
This was my second time at this hotel. I arrived late afternoon and it was chaos, with ridiculously slow check-in (the previous time it had been worse!) and the key for one of our rooms didn't work, so I had to go back to reception and wait again. Check-in took almost an hour. The previous stay I had a room in the tower. These are recently renovated. […] The room I got was fairly run down with torn wallpaper, old furniture, etc. It was also noisy as there is construction next door. The room was very clean, however. The location is good if you have any reason to be in the Ballsbridge area or even that side of town; there are plenty of restaurants nearby and even into the city centre is not a long walk. The hotel also has plenty of parking but don't park under the trees or it suffers from the birds that nest in them. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
