We had a king deluxe room. However, we were disappointed that it did not have a refrigerator or mini-bar. For what we paid we thought it would have at least those few extras. The bed was super comfortable. The view was great. The staff was not the friendliest though. We veered away from our usual place the Hutton Hotel. Although the Reniassance was nice from now on I will still pay that extra and stay at Hutton Hotel where it is truly a 4 star plus the staff is excellent.!

The hotel was nice, but we were there on a weekend. Drunk people were coming in from the neighborhood bars, walking up and down the hallway, keeping us up from 12:15 a.m. to 4:00 a.m.. Since we had to get up at 5:30 a.m., the stay was very unpleasant. When we checked out at 6:00 a.m., I wasn't even asked how the stay was. Very disappointing.

We have stayed in several hotels around Nashville and as far as downtown goes this is the place to stay. Outstanding customer service and fabulous beds. Walk to just about everything. Their breakfast and dinner is 5 stars and well worth the money. They have a very posh bridge bar also. The bartender has been there for years now and knows how to take care of you.

The hotel was in a convenient location to enjoy the Nashville downtown night life. The room was nice, but could have had more amenities for the price. It was a little insulting that they included bottled water for the guest, but expected the guest to pay for the water upon consumption. Considering the nightly price of the room, one would think they could give the water to the guest. Overall, it was a pleasant hotel.

Overall, the Renaissance Hotel was nice. The only complaints that I have are that I was given a possible adjoining room and the occupants in the next room were very loud and in party mood and it seemed as if the walls were paper thin. The carpets could have been a little cleaner also. They were not horrible, but who wants to walk barefoot on a floor with spots that you didn't make yourself.

I know it is a small complaint, but we were only there one night, and the movies didn't work. We came in early so we could watch a movie. Of course the next morning all the movies were available, but we were checking out. Also, they only offered one appetizer and two choices of sandwiches after 10 p.m. Very limited. Otherwise, it is a great hotel.

Room service and food were great. There was hair in the bathroom, bath mat didn't look fresh, there was a used coffee filter pad in the coffee maker. There were people shouting and screaming in the halls at night, pounding on each others doors. We were supposed to have free breakfast under the Stay For Breakfast Plan, which was at a highr rate charge for the room. We were still charged for breakfast after the front desk staff said they would take care of it. They weren't very friendly about it, and I didn'y feel respected as a guest by teir attitude.

The hotel staff were great. They were very friendly and accomodating. My son was sick and the concierge even offered to go to the pharmacy if I was alone with him. The rooms were very clean and the beds were soft and comfy. We had a beautiful view of the Nashville Skyline. My son & I enjoyed a swim in the indoor pool and spa. This area was very nice and clean. We went to a show at the Ryman and the walking distance from the hotel to the Ryman was perfect. These are all the plus sides of the hotel. On the not so plus side, the room was very small. The quietness of the room was terrible. It seemed as though every time another room door was closed it shook our whole room. And since the hotel is in downtown Nashville there are quite a bit of late night door closings and very loud patrons of the hotel. And you can clearly hear the sirens from the city all night. So if you like a good nights sleep, you might not get one here. We stayed at another hotel a couple of blocks away from the main area of downtown and it was much more quiet and peaceful.

I enjoyed the hotel, but not necessarily my stay. It was hard to get to, downtown with one way streets everywhere. In order to find parking you had to do valet parking at the hotel and pay the $34/night or else find a parking garage and walk a few blocks, which is what we did because we didn't have any luggage. The hotel was lavish, but because of that, everything was so expensive. The room was small, but the beds were incredibly comforable. We ordered dinner in the room, 2 cheeseburgers came to well over what a good dinner for two at a normal restaurant would. Same with the movie we ordered, more than any other hotel I had stayed in. We also tried to pre- order breakfast by filling out the menu and hanging it on the door, but it was never picked up, so we skipped breakfast. All that being said, I liked the hotel in general. There was a gym, spa, etc. If I was there on a business conference for a few days, and had a chance to use all the facilities in the hotel and get my money's worth, then I would say it was worth it. If I just need a place with a bed and a tv, I would much rather choose a cheaper, less lavish hotel.

Arrived at the hotel to see chaos re bell and valet service. Said yes to offer of bell service, but none appeared until we commandeered a cart on our own. Booked a king deluxe. When we checked in, no kings, only doubles, in cramped rooms. The response? -- sorry, no guarantees, a reservation is only a request. The sink in the bathroom had no COLD water -- only warm to hot out of both taps. (!?!?) We called for a room change, and requested an upgrade. Room change okay -- no free upgrade. The value of an upgrade, we asked? $20. We took the upgrade anyway. The front desk agent was barely civil at every encounter. (Although the maintenance and housekeeping staff we met were outstanding.) Service in restaurant was congenial but very slow (not a Southern thing -- a training/timing thing). I will be traveling to Nashville frequently over the next few years, and will make a point to avoid this property.
