"Nice beach hotel"
Nice little beach hotel right in the middle of the action of Pismo Beach. A bit touristy, comfortable place to sleep in, feels safe, decent breakfast selection. Not the place if you're looking for a romantic resort type experience, but definitely a place I would stay at again.

"Great hotel right on the beach"
My wife and I went there to celebrate our anniversary and the hotel was great. Clean, great staff and the location was perfect right by the pier. Within walking distance to many restaurants and shopping. Would definitely go back.

"Tooooo Loud!!!!"
It was way to loud outside and the maids were really loud. That made it horrible. The rooms were really nice but because of how bad the noise was we will not be staying again .

"Great location at the beach"
Great location - we had an ocean front room - friendly and courteous staff - whilst room was clean the furniture is definitely showing signs of wear - think a little tacky to only have plastic glasses in room - the continental breakfast is okay - surprised the only tea available in the mornings was green tea, cammomile or Earl Grey no English breakfast tea.

"Nice small vacation"

"Checkin not so great but very beaitiful view!"
The check in staff didn't really seem to know what they were doing. They messed up our reservation and said they didn't have any Beachfront King rooms left (which is what we reserved and paid for in advance) because of a maintenance issue. We arrived at 1pm and they said they'd call at 3pm for us to come back for our key and we would have to stay in a 2 Queen room instead. They never called. We came back at 4:30pm and apparently we weren't the only folks who had this very same issue. There were 3 other families in line arguing a very similar situation. (They'd given a mother/daughter the Ocean Front King and they wanted the Queens!!!) They concluded that my husband and I could have our Beachfront King for one night but would then need to switch rooms for the next night. My husband wasn't happy about that and told them we paid for and reserved two nights in a Beachfront King room and shouldn't have to move once in it. That said, we finally got our room that we paid for and didnt have to move. Once we were finally in the room, it was very lovely! The view and location are amazing there. Not much food though. If it's late on a Sunday night, they offer a few small items from the front desk. At least in the end we got the room we paid for and it was beautiful!

"check in time"
My only issue was that I wasn't able to check in early. A 4:00 pm check in is a little late when having kids covered in sand and no where to wash up. It seemed as though our room was the very last room to be ready in the whole hotel. Could just be bad luck, but still it was inconvenient.

"Old and overpriced"
The rooms are small. Stains on the bedding. Breakfast consists of waffle bagels bread. Some bananas and oranges. The breakfast is one of the worst I've seen. The hot tub is SMALL. Seats 6. No pool. But it's right next to the beach which is awesome and staff there was very nice. Overall the hotel is way over priced. It's old and dated

"nice rooms, friendly staff but noisy machine sound"
Room and staff friendliness was great. Our only complaint was that we were assigned room 225 and it is a very noisy room. We heard a loud humming coming from the coke and ice machine through the wall. So loud we could not sleep well. Good thing our stay was just one night.

"Thumbs Up from me!"
We were there for one night in a ocean facing room which gave an awesome view especially at sunset. It was very convenient to step out of the hotel towards the beach for a walk.Breakfast was included and had a decent menu list(nothing out of the ordinary). Overall we loved our stay and would come back if we get a chance to.

"Nice hotel - good location"
We have stayed here before. The location is great - right on the beach and walking distance to town - tons of restaurants and shops. The room was clean, the bed soft, staff nice. The A/C was not working in our room, but it wasn't too hot with the window open. We were on the bottom floor, so there were people walking by. They have a nice breakfast - waffles, pastries, cereal, etc. No pool, just a jacuzzi. We walked along the beach twice - great beach!

"Great Hotel ON the Beach"
We had a great stay at the Sandcastle Inn. Parking was included and the price was great. The hotel itself was very modern and had a great firepit and deck on the third floor overlooking the ocean. It is also directly on the boardwalk and like 100 feet from the beach. Its about a 5 minute walk to the pier and 5-10 minutes from almost all of the sights and bites around town. Finally, the included breakfast was pretty impressive by middle-of-the-road hotel standards. The room was massive, had a great ceiling fan and a nice bed, and was clean and fairly modern. We had a good sleep and did not hear anything during our stay. Overall, we would definitely stay here again if we are ever back in town.

My Love and I meet up here because it is half way from the Bay Area and Orange County. It was the perfect spot to meet, we enjoyed long walks on the beach and many quiet moments either on the upstairs deck or the hot tub at the hotel. We also enjoyed the nearby dinning. The staff is very helpful and pleasant.

"Great location, be sure and get balcony"
Unless you get a room with a balcony, you may as well get a cheaper hotel. We felt very cramped in our room with no balcony. Even though the location is perfect, we didn't realize just how important a balcony would have been for us. Staff was great, location great, breakfast was fine.

The hotel is practically on the beach, ample parking and pleasant accommodating staff. Included breakfast and afternoon cookies very good, Spa clean with towels available at front desk. Beach towns have their undesirables loitering and Pismo is no exception. However to have two disheveled recognizable street people enter the dining area during breakfast was disturbing. The carpets needed cleaning as did areas not readily visible.

"Great little hotel for a beach vacation."
The property has just been renovated and looks great. The area looks to be under massive renovation and there is allot of construction. The surrounding neighborhood appears to be a little rough.

My best friend from college and I decided to meet up after months apart. We chose a location that we both had never taken the time to stop and explore. "Nice hotel; lacking customer service"
We are locals and have enjoyed staying on the beach (about 2 miles from our home). We love the hotel, but experienced a lack of customer service at the front desk on 12/31. We waited a bit to check in as the receptionist was chatting with potential customers. We were not greeted with an acknowledgement of our presence. When we finally were checked in, we went to our room and found the key did not work. We headed back to the desk to find the receptionist chatting with people who wanted to look at a room in case they wanted to stay there in the future. There were two people at the desk, but neither one ever acknowledged that we had returned, one of them proceeded to take the other people on a tour. We stood there and waited once again. Finally I was able to get the attention of the other person at the desk. She made us new keys, but never apologized for ignoring us in the first place. I am a business woman in the community and was disappointed at the lack of customer service. We have always recommended this hotel to people from out of town, but I am not so inclined to stay there again. When I stay at a hotel, I expect a nice hotel to have customer service to match.
