The spacious rooms are marvelous, the location of the hotel is well situated in the core of Montreal. You can walk to various events. The garage parking is less to be desired and the unattended at night time parking is also a pain. The heat regulation in some rooms are also indesirable.

Two lamps weren't working, including a desk lamp -- awkward when I wanted to do a bit of work there. On the other hand the staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly, they really provided great service.

"Pool"
Chose this hotel specifically because it had a pool. When arrived the pool was closed for maintenance. Web site should have informed me!!! ?

The Hotel Maritime Plaza in Montreal was a nice place overall. The rooms and hotel itself were well maintained, service was good and we very much enjoyed the indoor pool. It was a short walk to downtown and all the shops. We enjoyed our stay there and I would recommend it to friends and family.

The one matress was like sleeping on box springs. Andwhen you sat on the end of the second mattress it flipped up at the top. The room service and houskeeping buttons on teh phone did not work. The power button on the tv romote did not work. Overall it was a horrible stay - will never go back and expect that this review should get some attention.

Hotel was clean and comfortable. The location was very convenient to everything we were doing. The room was nice enough, but it was right next to the elevators, which you could hear through the wall. On the whole, it was adequate for the price.

Hotel is in a great location. We didn't have to take the car out of parking once and prices were fair. 15 per day. 3 blocks to the Bell Centre, and two blocks from St. Catherines st. the pool wasn't bad. it wasn't big but seem to be taken care off. the down sides of the hotel were mainly the cleanliness of the room and halls. outside our door there […] were 10 empty beer bottels (friday) when we arrived and when we checked out they were still in the same spot ( sunday). our room didn't get cleand till some time after 3 pm. the place is dated. the tv was something from the 1980's that needed 5 min. to power up. the beds were old and well, not good. Sheets were very old and bed was not comfortable. also there were no plugs in the room. so you couldn't charge your phone / computer. If I had no choice i would stay again only because it's a great location. Read more
The hotel was in a great location with parking but there was a gurgle in our sink evertime a toilet flushed in the surrounding rooms...kind of annoying.

Very lovely staff, we had no mishaps but I feel anything would have been handled well. Room was good value for discounted rate. Only unsatisfactory experience was with very low water pressure in shower.

"good deal"
There were 4 of us, so the price was right. Location as good as it gets in downtown Montreal. The A/C was a little overwhelmed, but fortunately we didn't hit a heat wave.
"Maritime Plaza Montreal PQ"
Well located in downtown Montreal. Close to many night clubs and attractions. Metro (subway) station is only 2 blocks away. Bell Centre is also very close. The iconic Bar-B Barn is almost next door on Guy. The room was very well kept and maintained. Very much liked the pillows and great duvet. Underground parking is a bit of an adventure!
Great Location....just steps from lots of bars, restaurants and shopping. Hotel gave us a free upgrade. Would stay at this hotel againf or sure.

"Conveneinet and great place to stay"
The hotel room was great for us. Conveniently located near the mezzanine where the pool was. Free internet access to look up subway schedule--Hotel so close to subway station, train station and downtown. Several nice restaurants close by that were less expensive than hotel restaurant. "Room was dirty"
In the room, there was make-up smeared on a pillow, lipstick on the shower curtain, and some hair on the bathroom tiles. The hotel itself looked like it was showing its age (hallways smelled a little and it was very dated).

"Awesome location- not worth the price"
The hotel is really nice from the outside. The room smelled of mold when you walked in. The air condition doesnt work very well. It was soo hot and stuffy in our room and you couldnt change the settings on the AC...if you opened the window it was too loud...Average room....
Only downfall were the elevators...very slow and had to wait a good 15 min before being able to fit in one during the day, late evening not so bad. And the air conditioning could have been cooler. "Hotel Maritime Plaza in downtown Montreal"
This hotel looks a little old on the outside but is beautifully kept on the inside. The King Suite room I was upgraded to was very clean and comfortable. The king size bed was extremely comfy. The hotel staff were all very courteous and friendly. The only thing we didn't like was the $15 parking garage underneath the hotel, it was very small and cramped, […] we have a Rav 4 and it was difficult coming in and out of the parking spaces and garage. The hotel is very close to the main shopping area (Rue St. Catherine's) only steps away from it. Overall I would definately recommend this hotel to anyone planning a trip to Montreal. Read more

Lanaguage barrier at front desk but friendly. Didn't know about the second floor deck until my stay was just about done.

Overall very nice hotel. Very convenient to restaurants, nitelife. Only downside was trying to get coffee for 4 in the morning. No room service until 5pm, so had to go to the restaurant, get 4 styrofoam cups of coffee and try to balance them to the room on a dinner plate.

The hotel is perfectly situated in the heart of "The action" in Montreal and just off the hustle and bustle street so noise was not a factor. The room was adequate for the price and the hotel staff were for the most part friendly and responsive. The air conditioning was needed and not quite up to my comfort level, but everyone has a different comfort […] level. Parking was over priced ($15 as soon as you drive in or for the whole day), and no better alternative was offered when asked for, although 200 yards away there was a much more reasonable garage ($7 each day for the weekend). There is no use in sugar-coating it. I stayed in 2 hotels in montreal that weekend and I was able to conclude that even if I got paid to stay there I wouldn't return to this hotel. The receptionists are rude, the bathroom is nasty, the water doesn't go down the drain freely, few TV stations on the oudated TV, the coffee maker was a joke. It looked moldy. "Wasn't the worst hotel, but not the best!"
I'm very sorry to say this, but the elevator was broken and took me 1 hour after check before I got to my room. This was a problem the whole time. My room had a very thin door into the next room, and the guests staying there were not the quitest, I could hear all they said and the noise scared my brother. "Hotel Maritime- HORRIBLE SERVICE!"
I was just a guest at this hotel for 3 nights and me and my friend are left very disappointed at how awful the service was in the restaurant and bar area. They had one person working in both areas, as well as them working room service or atleast that is what i was told. We sat in the restaurant for 20 minutes without a single person working there greeting […] us and when she did come over she did not ask to take our drink order. After another 15 minutes we left. Needless to say, it was not a pleasant experience and for the amount of money we paid to stay at this hotel, the staff there should be welcoming or atleast not rude. When people book for hotels they expect to get the whole package, not just a bed to sleep on. I guess it will be something to think about next time we go to montreal and need a place to stay.
