The hotel was nice enough, and the kitchen was definitely a bonus, especially with 2 kids. The hotel would have scored much higher but for some really loud noises that occurred the second and third night of our stay. On the third night the noise woke me up at 2am, and by 2:30am I wound up going to the front desk requesting a room change. Definitely […] seemed like some kind of mechanical issue, not noise from a guest room. Hotel front desk credited me one night of my stay for the inconvenience, but I have to work with Hotels.com to get that money back - hope that's not going to be a problem. Great location! walking distance to Metrorail, many restaurants. The room is great with full kitchen.Genuine Expedia guest review
I was very pleased with my stay. Location is always important for me. This was close to a metro stop, a CVS that had a substantial grocery area, and a Whole Foods. Since I had a kitchen in my suite (got an upgrade!) this enabled me to have breakfast and dinner at much lower prices that I had expected. In addition, there was a Big Bus (hop on/hop off) […] stop in front of the hotel. The front desk staff was able to answer all my sightseeing questions. I always appreciated the fresh, cold lemon or strawberry water and apples in the lobby. I had read reviews of the sirens in the area from the hospital, so I took a white noise maker to use at night. A light sleeper, I had NO problems sleeping. One problem was the Wi Fi--fairly easy to get on, but I got dropped a lot. I was pleased to discover free access to a guest computer in the lobby to print out my boarding pass before I flew home. I would DEFINITELY stay here again! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

I travel often for business and was pleasantly surprised by this hotelGenuine Hotels.com guest review
All of the staff was very pleasant, friendly and knew a lot about DC. The hotel employee upgraded us to a suite an no extra cost which was great. I was warmly received by the staff. My stay was enjoyable, staff were very pleasant and helpful. My room was spacious, clean and comfortable. I have stayed at this hotel on three separate occasions and will certainly do so again.Genuine Expedia guest review
"We will ALWAYS stay here!"
We can't say enough great things about this hotel. While we agree with some of the other reviews that it is showing signs of age, the rooms were GREAT, We were there on two different occasions and each time the rooms were clean and upgraded and the staff was extremely helpful. "location! to G'town, metro, sights."
Very nice. Excellent service from Elliott. Near G'town shopping, metro and sights. Starbucks, District Commons and "BTS" tasty too! Large rooms, small bathroom, but overall very nice. Balcony nice as well.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great. Love the location, friendliness of staff and cleanliness. The one negative for me is the amount charged for parking if you have a car.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I have stayed at One Washington Circle previously due to my positive experiences, and their excellent quality service has not changed. The staff and accommodations were great, and I will absolutely recommend this property to others. I will be a return guest on my next DC trip.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good but not great"
We had a nice trip to DC, and this hotel was good but not great. The staff were friendly and helpful. The maids did a nice job. The location was decent, and close to a Metro station. Loved the fruit-flavored water available by the front door everyday. However, the rooms are showing wear and the carpeting is in need of some serious deep cleaning or, […] better, replacement. The window shade in our room was broken and we couldn't pull the heavy shade up. The bathrooms are small and basic. The lobby area is tiny and there aren't many extra amenities. Overall, though, we enjoyed ourselves. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great location -- a hidden jewel in DC"
This is a great hotel. The rooms are large, clean and comfortable (many are suites -- mine had a full kitchen with microwave, stove, fridge and dishwasher). The staff is prompt and friendly (my TV remote was not working when I checked in, but they fixed it while I went out to dinner). Perhaps the best thing about this hotel is its wonderful location, […] which many might overlook. I used to live in this neighborhood, and know if its conveniences. You are a 6-block walk (in different directions) from the White House, Lincoln Memorial, Georgetown and Dupont Circle. A metro stop (Foggy Bottom/GWU on the blue/orange line) is just across the traffic circle (5-minute walk, easy to take roller bags). There are few better balanced locations in the city of DC to tourist sites, metro and businesses -- whether you want to walk or take metro. Plenty of taxi's nearby also. It's a great place to stay for individuals, tourists, families and business people alike. Some reviews of the noise due to it being across the traffic circle from GWU hospital -- but to me that noise is negligible, and not really due to the hospital. DC is a noisy city in general (lots of motorcades, etc.)... so it would be hard to find a "quiet" area unless you stay in the suburbs. I would highly recommend this hotel and its location to anyone. "Very nice stay"
We had planned this trip a year in advance but didn't book our room til a month before. I'm a review reader so that's why I choose The One Washington Circle. "Loss stress stay during high stress Shutdown"
It was the second day of the Federal Shutdown and we had planned for months to entertain two adult grandchildren in DC and stay over for the theater. "This is the place to stay."
This was our first trip to Wash. DC. We found the One Washington Circle Hotel through Expedia. This hotel was more than I had hoped for. The location is excellent. It is within one and one half miles of most attractions. It is one block to the Metro or the bus is on the corner. You can head to the National Mall, GW University, Georgetown or JFK Center […] from this spot. It all starts here. WE walked most of the locations. The hotel was an apartment complex that has been converted to rooms. There are kitchen units, suits, and each has a balcony. The rooms come fully stocked with dishware to coffee beans. Toiletries are supplied along with iron and ironing board. There is a flat screen tv, a clock radio with an I Pod hook up. Each room has free WiFi and internet hookup. There is room service or an excellent restaurant and bar on site. They have a laundry service, do it yourself, on site or send it out. The staff are helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable on the attractions in the area and how to get around Wash. DC. The hotel lobby is inviting and there is a computer for guests use. They have valet parking at a cost. I would definitely stay here again. Mary A. Woodbridge CA Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Our home away from home"
We love this place. My son went to school in Washington, DC and lived around the corner from this hotel. It became our home away from home. We love the area. It is convenient to everything, Metro, Trader Joe's, Georgetown. The room is very comfortable, the staff is polite, and my favorite part about having a kitchen is the coffee beans and grinder! […] What more could a guest ask for? The only "ripoff" is parking. It's expensive but not more than any other major city. We highly recommend the hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Very nice hotel. Staff was quite friendly. Great location - we needed to be near GWU and it was perfect! Would stay here again. "Depends on why you are in DC"
If you are in DC to sightsee, know that there are places closer to the attractions. This is a cab or metro ride to everything near the Mall. We were there for a wedding so this hotel made sense for us. We walked to the mall a couple of times but with kids in tow, that gets old fast!Genuine Expedia guest review

"Older hotel, great location."
Nice large room. Stayed 4 nights. Great location. Room had small fridge and old microwave. Very old fixtures and carpet with stains. Bathtub was old and water pressure was very weak. this is a wonderful hotel and the location is perfect. we were a little disappointed in the service at the front desk however. twice when we needed our vehicle we arrived in the lobby only to find that the front desk person had not alerted the valet that we called down for our car. we followed their initial instructions of calling the front desk 10-15 […] minutes prior to our coming downstairs. the valet was very nice and apologized but it wasn't his fault. the front desk person dropped the ball. the rooms are spacious. love the free bottled water and fruit in the morning. we didn't use the pool but it looked lovely. We enjoyed our stay quite a bit. Read about the ambulance noise on previous reviews, so was expecting it. If your room is on the 23rd st side (right side of hotel) expect AM traffic noise as well. I would have given 5's all the way except for the sirens. I am not sure if there is a fire, ambulance or police station down the street but if you like to sleep with an open window (hooray, you CAN open the window), as I do, beware the frequent sirens Also, no ice machine. "Excellent hotel for families in DC"
Visited DC with family of four for first time. A friend helped identify One Circle, as a good suite hotel, after i had failed to find one satisfactory on reviews of expedia and tripadvisor. The hotel is well located, close to central DC and the tourist attractions (National Mall). It is also a stop on the route of the main hop-on, hop-off bus tour of […] DC. You can buy tickets from hotel or from an agent of thebus/tour who sits at the stop right infront of hotel. Its within walking distance of Lincoln Memorial. The hotel facilities are simply excellent. A bedroom, sitting room with foldaway bed, dining room, small kitchen. There is a small sitting room, with balcony ( from which we saw President Obama in motorcade one morning) and if you like you can pay for breakfast. There is a good grocery store and couple of restaurants 3 min walk away.Staff were great - helpful, friendly. This should be the number one family hotel in DC. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Convenient. A bit overpriced for hotel quality."
Pleasant house staff -- but not enough concierge/front desk staff for the size of the hotel. Tiny lobby, staff trying to do their best. "A" for effort for sure. Because hotel is right across the street from the hospital, sirens sounded all day.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Our stay July 15 - July 20 -"
Being unfamiliar with D.C. we booked One Washington Circle based on location, price and reviews. We were very happy with the location of the hotel. The Foggy Bottom Metro station is conveniently located to the hotel as is a Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, and several good restaurants. The hotel staff could not have been more pleasant and helpful with directions […] to sites, restaurant suggestions, etc. On those occassions when we returned to the hotel in the early evening or late afternoon hours (5-7 p.m.) we were greeted in the hotel lobby, by a host and hostess who were offering each guest a selection of flavored waters (flavored by fresh fruit or vegetable slices, such as, strawberry, apple or cucumber), a wine or sangria sample and finger sandwiches. A very pleasant surprise after a long hot day of site seeing! Our room was very spacious and clean. However, we couldn't enjoy the balcony as there was no outdoor furniture. I'm curious why have the balcony if guest cannot enjoy it in the early morning or late evening? The only negative I have to offer with regard to the hotel and facilities - the decor on the room floors and in the rooms should be updated as carpeting, furniture in the room and wallpaper is very worn. With that being said, we will definitely stay at this hotel on subsequent trips to D.C. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Arrived at hotel at 10.00pm. Found a very welcoming staff. The hotel is very near to Georgetown and Foggy Bottom. It is also a ten minute walk away from the Mall.
