"Amazing Grounds, so so hotel"
We started our stay with a sub par check in. The agent seemed bothered when we walked in, and she made sure to finish her sip of water before saying hello. She never once used my name, and to say the least I was ready to leave at that point. Upon entering the room a musky smell hit us. It just smelled old and worn out. One TV in a suit seemed a bit subpar, but what made it worse was it was an old style tube TV tucked low in the corner of the living room (no moving it). We decided to dine on property and this again was sub par. The good was amazing but the wait staff automatically seated us in the dining room where the menu was more upscale. We wanted to sit in the bar, and when we asked she brushed it off saying "we can acomadate here". Beer prices were more, and no happy hour in the dining room. We asked if they had burgers, and they made us them but they were not on the menu. Upon heading back for the night and entering the room we couldn't help but notice it smelled more than before. We settled in for the night and I pulled the sleeper sofa out for a restful nights sleep. It smelled so strong of high levels cleaner I woke with a serious headache. After all this before we left I just wanted a Warm shower. No such luck. I tried the tap in several directions and stood in the bathroom for about 20 minutes waiting. "Charming older hotel"
We stay here whenever we visit family. The children love the pool and we really like that there is a separate living area where the kids can sleep in the sofa bed. "Never going back!"
I have stayed there several times and this last one was it! I had to ASK for normal Wash Cloths (10" x 10") every day 4 of the 5 days I stayed there. one of the days I called Housekeeping x 2, no answer, I then called front desk x 2, no answer, I then hit "0", no answer so I had to walk to the lobby to request wash cloths so I could take my morning […] shower. there were 2 staff at the front desk both helping one guy and the phone was ringing off the hook the whole time I was there only to be ignored like I was before I had to walk down. I felt I was asking for something "out of the norm" and was told 2 different occasions that they may have been out of wash cloths, yet they found them when I needed them. This is Hotel 101, NOT IMPRESSED. Going back to that area, just booked Best Western on Garvey and will give them a shot. I WILL NOT go back to PARK INN again, you should see the property! Water leaking just outside the lobby from the celling stucco tight where you walk. I travel for a living, this was one of the worst properties I have stayed at. I called and talked to a Hotels.com rep last night while booking Best Western in West Covina, he did a great job. We then discovered Best Western on Garvey advertising the one room at 94.00 and the same at 99.00 with "Free Parking" so I questioned it, the rep called Best Western and they told him parking is free! The neighborhood of the hotel was accessable to all your shopping needs. The rooms were not quite what the pictures advertised. The room that was offered to us had water ceiling stains and the towels thay were provided for us had stains on them. Staff was extremely courtious. "The staff rescued the worst stay I've ever had."
The staff was very nice. We were in the very back and I had to go back to the front desk seven times. The first room was occupied, wow if I wasn't a nice person... The second was not clean and the first set of cards didn't work. Lets see thats three trips and we weren't even in the room. The key cards quit working again. Almost everything in our room was broken. There was only one lamp that worked out of 4. The ironing board was broken as well. Hallway light was broken. When we arrived at check-in time our room was not ready. The following day we waited until after 4 for someone to bring new towels to us. "In desperate need of a makeover"
This hotel has fallen fast. I have used this hotel in the past and it has become a very rundown place. The bathroom door was curling at the corners and looked like rotted wood. Holes in the wall and chipped paint everywhere. The sofa in the front room was dirty and stained. TV's were old box style. The first room we had would not lock at the deadbolt […] and we had to move rooms. The bright spot was the maintenance worker who did everything he could to make the situation better. We moved rooms and saw a lot of the same conditions from the first room with regard to use and cleanliness. We recieved breakfast coupons for our trouble with the lock so we thought there might be a bright spot on our stay...food was fine but any made to order items were an extra charge which was ridiculous for a "buffet breakfast". I stayed 4 days and had to switch rooms 5 times. In one of the rooms the toilet had to completely be removed to be repaired. To top it off days after I checked out I noticed I was charged an extra $250. I called to get it refunded and was hung up on. The hotel rooms are badly in need of updating. The pool area and landscaping are beautiful, but the rooms are not contemporary. The parking area is not well-lit. The living room area had a flat screen TV and the bedroom area had a 1990's model TV. I think one TV (flatscreen) would have been fine. We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights and for the entire […] stay, there were no wash cloths provided in the room. My husband had to ask the front desk each night for wash cloths and the clerk responded each night that there were none. This forced us to check again in the morning and then we received whatever was available. The air conditioning did not seem to work as well the last night we were there, so it was warmer. I read the reviews after we had already used an opaque booking site, so we could not get a refund. Bad mistake! A word for the GM: Consider renovating because the hotel is still unique. A pro would be the parking, since it's totally free..but there aren't any security cameras in the parking lot and it's not very well lit.
