That said, the doorknob to the bathroom was broken and I was almost locked in there indefinitely while my husband and I each tried to open it from both sides. Since all the rooms face the atrium you can hear a lot. We have a toddler who couldn't nap because it was happy hour and super loud. Parking was free which is obviously nice, but there was an event going on and so all close parking spots were taken when we arrived back at the hotel around 7:00. We have tried this hotel 3 times now and it will be the last. The breakfast buffet is delicious and has a lot of hot and cold foods and an omelet station. The walls are thin (the neighbor had a cold and was coughing a lot) and the layout of the building also conducts noise. It is an open foyer all the way to the top floor (9 floors I think) and the noise from below reverberates all the way up. Rooms above the bar and fountain get to hear the people's chattering. The stay as a whole was fine after we finally were able to get into a room. Hotel has a published check in time of 3:00 pm, we arrived at the hotel at 5:00pm to find out that a room was not ready for us and would not be ready for some time. We were offered a voucher for the bar however we had three 12 year old girls with us so sitting in the bar with […] them was not an attractive offer. No other comp was offered. I heard several other people checking in having the same difficulty and the only explanation was that housekeeping was terribly behind. After waiting close to an hour we were able to get into a room and the cleanliness of the room was still lacking. They had issues with some guests while we were there and the police were roaming around, and the staff during the reception time was extremely rude. We had a similar experience last year but stayed again as it is close to the venue we needed to be at. This will be the last time we stay at this hotel. Read more

The stay was fine, however after I got home. I discovered that the hotel randomly charged me $108.80. I called them, got a phone tree that took me 10 minutes to get out of and finally spoke with someone. I could barely understand the person, who for some reason gave me the number back to Hotels.com. This a great hotel for repeat trips. The Embassy approach and staff are great. They offer an amazing breakfast, an included happy hour and free shuttle. It is a comfortable place to be while your away from home. Added bonus is the remoded gym.

First tip-If you plan to take the shuttle to the Mall, you better book it the moment you check in. Their shuttle runs once every hour and can hold 14 people. We had mixed feelings about the stay. The elevators were slow. Friday night's manager reception was great with chips, pretzels, salsa and ranch dips. They also served unlimited drinks including alcoholic beverages. Plenty for everyone. Saturday we didn't attend, then Sunday night it was horrible. It runs from 5:30-7:30 pm. We arrived at around 6:10 pm. There was no salsa, they had ranch dip and tasteless humas. The nacho chips were almost gone, and they didn't bother to refill the bowls. The normal sitting area was full, so we went to sit in an overflow area where we had seen people sit during the first night's reception and breakfast. There was a grumpy, short older lady who told us we could not sit there. We tried to explain that there was no place to sit in the other area. She was extremely rude and said the area was reserved for the restaurant guests, although there were no restaurant guests sitting there. The kids had fun in the pool. I think the next time we visit we will try the Embassy Suites that is closer to the Airport. Read more

This was a real disappointment. Thankfully, we only booked one night at this hotel. It was "crusty", and smelled, especially in the rooms. Just didn't feel clean or fresh. Everything was dated and they still had the Christmas tree up in the lobby! We stayed two days Thursday and Friday night 11/27-28 of November. Returning to the hotel at 4:15 on Friday after all day at the Mall of America we found that our room had not been cleaned. When asked they said that that they cleaned up until 5 pm which we had not experienced before in our travels. No one felt sorry for our problem with all of our dirty […] towels, washclothes, beds not made, and room not cleaned. I found clean towels with a cleaning lady and as we cleaned up to go to our evening appointment we were asked if we would like it cleaned now but I told them no because my wife was in the back bedroom getting dressed to go. When we returned our room was in the same state. The front desk asked if we would like it cleaned now(after nine at night). I think that the hotel is trying to get by on fewer staff. The hotel was OK, the breakfast was great, concierge was fantastic. Thought they should have offered to make amends for the room though - such as another night at another time, moved us to a clean room, or added additional perks they might have had available.
