First time staying at Embassy. All I can say to compare other places we've stayed is this hotel was awesome. Loved the happy hour complimentary drinks, loved the pool, loved the more roomy rooms, and loved the breakfast. We will definitely stay at Embassy again.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Bring your own drinking glass"
I found housekeeping staff wiping my used drinking glass with a hand towel they had used to wipe down the counter of the lavatory, placed the plastic lid back on it and returned it as being a clean one. On the second day of my 4 night stay, housekeeping never came to my room at all. The in-house Cattlemen's Grill was just mediocre. Manager's reception […] with free drinks was nice as was the breakfast. I would stay again but be more watchful of the housekeeping staff. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
The staff was great! The only problem was the noise coming from one of the meeting rooms downstairs until well after 2am. Didn't get much sleep Saturday night.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Don't stay there on weekends"
Our second and will be last time staying at this hotel on Fridays and Saturdays. Too busy, lines everywhere, for breakfast, check out, vallet parking. We paid $140 plus parking for something that we could had have for about $90 at Hampton Inn we stayed at an month ago including free parking.Genuine Expedia guest review
will not stay here again. biggest complaint is the bathroom size! my bathroom at home is much bigger than that, made it very hard to manage time. Positve note. Staff was great! hats off to all, from front desk to the maintenance man, everyone was very personable. 2nd positive. pool was worth going for the first time, very nice!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Weekend family getaway"
Husband and I took our 18 month old to KC to go to the zoo and get away for a weekend. Hotel was clean and comfortable, staff was amazing. Pool was clean and nice. Breakfast was very good and had a wide variety of choices. Will definitely return!Genuine Expedia guest review
Under vanity, and tables were some trash, and around the sliding glass door the trim was coming up. Carpet also needed cleaning around the sliding glass door. We also had trouble finding parking in the garage on Saturday evening.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Horrible customer service"
The front desk staff was uninterested and miserable. I tried to ask questions and was iqnored by all three front desk employees including the one checking me in. I was the only one checking in at the time and the other two front desk employees were glued to their cell phones while the employee that was "helping" me was more focused on her co workers. […] My check in was like this, no hello...., name, card for incidentals, sign here, here is your key, elevator is over there. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
My stay was fantastic! The Embassy Suites in Kansas City, just north of the Plaza, was extremely accomodating... My room was very clean, up dated, and the overall layout of the hotel was great! I will definitely be staying here again...Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Exceeded our expectations!"
Very nice hotel experience! The hotel was very comfortable and the staff was excellent. The hotel is beautiful and it is clear to see that the management and the staff take great pride in ensuring guests enjoy their stay. We will certainly come back again and would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to others.Genuine Expedia guest review
"wonderful staff and accommodations."
The only flaws were that the remote control in one of the rooms did not work and there was some old soap film in the bathtub. The staff were excellent. Shuttle service remarkable. Friendly, clean (except for the one spot in the tub). Would stay again in a heartbeat.Genuine Expedia guest review
Hotel is old and you can tell. They could use some decent pillows too.The staff was aware some and helpful; great customer service from the get go. Overall it was an enjoyable weekend.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Don't count on a luggage cart"
We were very happy with the location and everything about this stay until we tried to leave. We had two young children and needed a luggage cart to transport everything to the car. We spent 90 minutes trying to get a cart before we resorted to numerous trips on the slow, crowded elevators. The bell staff was very helpful, but the hotel should invest […] in a lot more luggage carts. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very nice and convenient"
A nice hotel within walking distance of the Plaza was perfect for our family visit to KC. Our only issues were how slow and crowded the elevators were, particularly during breakfast and check out times. The front desk was not able to locate a luggage cart for us and with our large family traveling, the three round trips on the elevator took us more […] than an hour to get everything to the car. "nice hotel, great breakfast"
My only complaint was on check-out, first they tried to charge me for valet parking, then they tried to charge me for two days parking instead of one. And they questioned me on it which I thought was rude. Isn't the customer always right?Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Worst embassy suites ever"
I always stay at embassy suites and this location was more like a motel than an embassy suites. The bathroom was too small and badly lit the sink was in the bedroom, the carpet felt dirty and had stains and the wallpaper was peeling off, overall horrible.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good hotel, great location"
Very good: The customer service, food, family friendly atmosphere, and location are the positive attributes of this hotel. You have access to a free shuttle that takes you anywhere within a two mile radius from the hotel. However, you are within walking distance (about a mile away) to the Plaza if you prefer to walk. The manager's reception and breakfast […] are great - mainly because it's free, which is especially nice if you have kids. Needs improvement: Our room was clean, however it seemed dingy and slightly outdated. Our bathroom shower faucet needed some repair because it was loose and the air conditioner fan was incredibly loud. Overall: We had a good time and would stay at this hotel again. "Beautiful hotel, but no view"
We enjoyed our stay very much. The room was clean and comfortable and the service was terrific. The only thing we could complain about is that because of the hotel's location, the view out the window was not very pleasant. Parking lots on all sides. It was a very beautiful hotel otherwise.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel for family"
We arrived during our return trip home from Kansas and the kids wanted somewhere to swim. This hotel was perfect. It is located close to the plaza for shopping and dining and even has the shuttle to take you. We decided to go to the plaza to eat but then realized it was a Friday night and most places had an hour plus wait. We decided to try the hotel's […] Cattleman's restaurant. It was nice and had a great kids menu. The food was good and fairly priced. Service was also great. The kids really liked this option since they had longer to swim. The pool is great. It offers 2 levels and is perfect for kids and adults. It was no crowded and my kids even made some friends. The fitness room is great! It has everything you could need to keep your routine while away from home. The only negative I had is that the sauna doesn't really work and the steam room was out of order. But that wasn't really a big deal because I didn't anticipate on them having either so it would have been a bonus! There was a college basketball team staying there with us and I was afraid the FREE breakfast buffet would be crowded but they actually have a great system and everything ran very quick and smooth. Made to order omelets, fruits, eggs, bacon, sausage, cereals, pastries, and a variety of other breakfast items are included. This was definitely the best part for us since we have kids. Overall this was a great stay and we are looking forward to coming back in the warmer weather. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"ok, but not great"
stayed here for a trade show and it served it's purpose but would look somewhere else for the next time. elevator was quirky, you could only pick 3 floors at a time or it wouldn't stop at any of them, so interesting when you have a lot of people in with you going to different floors. Location was ok, but a drive to anything you needed to do, not within […] walking distance. service was good and room was clean and comfortable. only real bad thing about the room was that the shower would not keep a constant temperature so best to make sure you can "get out of the way" if needed... "Probably our last visit"
There was only 1 remote control for the television in our room. The hotel advertises that each room has 2 TVs; they neglect to inform customers that the TV remote has to be shared by both TVs. It is annoying. Also, the fan in the room is so loud that we barely got any sleep. Needless to say, our stay was neither romantic nor restful. I know the free […] happy hour probably always has long lines, but why not add another bartender? One lady serving hundreds of people makes no sense. The breakfast, while a nice amenity, is not run smoothly. The lines were terrible. There was only one chef making omelets, eggs, etc. When we did reach the food, we ended up waiting there for another 5-10 minutes because they had no clean plates. One of the employees serving the food announced that there weren't clean plates because everyone staying there had about 15 kids in their room. While there were a lot of kids, I found this very unprofessional. Our stay ended with a bad experience in the parking garage. The garage had either mist, steam, or fog so badly that we tried to drive out the exit, but with zero visibility, we were afraid we'd run into something or someone. We instead turned our car around to exit through the entrance because we could see. We were then chastised for going the wrong way by a valet. Very unsafe! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Love the staff! Everyone was super eager to help. They all was full of friendliness and hospitality! The omlets in the morning were delishious! A bit of a line to wait for them... But worth the wait!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great except for the service at the restaurant."
The room was bigger than expected, the beds were too comfortable- it was hard to get up when 8am came along!! The only thing was the service at the restaurant/bar. It was so so slow. It took over an hour to get a Ruben, chicken fingers and fish & chips.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Solid choice for KC"
Good location near the Plaza restaurants and shopping. Embassy complimentary breakfast is always welcome.Genuine Expedia guest review
Great hotel with friendly staff! Location very close to The Plaza but also very close to St. Luke's hospital so not uncommon to hear ambulance sirens going off at 3 am!!! Very good for the price, self parking is free and also free wi-fi and breakfast buffet!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A place to enjoy"
My husband and I were going to a concert at the Spring Center and booked our room at the Embassey Suites in Westport. Beautiful hotel. Guest services at the front desk was wonderful. We had a really good time. Nice hotel, great last minute rates and accommodations! Would totally stay again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I really enjoyed the room and the customer services that were provided. The only small issue to me was the length of time for the shower and sink hot water took to warm up...maybe it was because we were staying on the 9th floor.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not what I expected"
The check-in was fine. The room had cobwebs, trash on floor behind tables and chairs. I ordered a bottle of champaign to be in the room upon arrival, it wasn't. The A/C unit made a horrible noise when it came on. Getting in and out of parking deck was less a confusing experience. Overall, I will not be staying at this location when in Kansas City a […] gain. I live in KC and stayed at Embassy for a girls night out. I was pleasantly surprised. We had a great time and the hotel appears to be recently updated. Breakfast was awesome - close to the Plaza and Westport, so everything in walking distance.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Large comfortable suites with separate living room area at a reasonable price. Great for business travelers like myself. The location was near to the Plaza and it's awesome shopping. Only negative is you have to pay separetly for Internet access, but the price for that wasn't outrageous.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Clean room, hotel was a little noisy at night. Shuttle service to the plaza was nice.Genuine Expedia guest review
Very nice and pleasant stay. The people were all happy and fantastic in everyway. The only thing was it took a little while to get the water hot, but we were on the 11th floor and the hotel was only 20% booked so it was understandable why. I will be returning to this hotel, location is great, parking is an additional $10.00 a day or $15.00 a day for […] Valet, the guys were great, I recommend letting them park your car. "What a downer!"
Upon arrival at the hotel, I realized that saying the property was ON THE PLAZA was far from true. It was at least a 5 block walk and in the cold of winter there was no way we would be able to avoid taking our car. We found out that we had been put in a smoking room and the manager at the front desk was unaccommodating and rude. He never offered to […] make any changes to help or ease the situation. Finally, the assistant overheard and at least gave us free internet access during our stay. Even the front doorman seemed embarrassed by how rudely we were treated. We made popcorn to try to overpower the smell of the room and it gave us temporary relief. Blankets in the room were worn with holes in them and there were no extras. When opening the curtains in the room, we were overlooking a run down building and it was obvious that we were in a very questionable area. We just closed the curtains and went down to swim. The two level pool design was nice but the steam room and the sauna were both cold and would not heat up. The center design of the hotel was cool and it looked like Embassy Suites we have stayed in before but the whole thing just looked tired and worn. The bartender at the reception was a doll and very nice to everyone. Breakfast the next morning was so overcrowded that we chose to leave and get something on our way home. This was supposed to be a treat and it ended up a tragedy. My kids were so disappointed and I hope no one else has to experience this. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
The hotel worked great for our short family get away. Staff very friendly and food was great... breakfast gets a little crazy...but fun and free! The one place they need an overhaul is the coffee situation there...terrible coffee! "fairly close to the Plaza"
We had a generally pleasant stay, with a few unexpected problems. Firstly, we were unaware of the additional $10/day charge for parking prevleges on the property, which wasn't a huge deal, but a bit of a surprise on the bill. Additionally, we had requested a roll-away (which was listed as available in the room description), but on check in we were informed […] that they were not able to provide roll-aways in any of the rooms due to fire code. In order to accomidate our party then, (parents, teenage boy and little girl), we needed to switch to a room with 2 doubles and a sofa bed - but all that was available was smoking. They did bring up an ozone machine when we went to dinner... but that couldn't really get rid of that smell, which I could still notice on our coats/clothes when we returned home. Finally, for some reason none of the beds had covers or warmer blankets and there were none in the room - just 2 top sheets with a thin felt blanket between. Of course, when the kids came back from swimming they were freezing. We called down for blankets for both beds and the sofa bed, but only 2 blankets were brought up. We ended up using a blanket from our car for our youngest. This is not within walking distance of the plaza, shuttle is available but it was about $10 each way. "Nice hotel that is close to the Country Club Plaza"
The suites were nice but the pull out sofa was very uncomfortable and had springs poking through the mattress. The Sunday brunch was very good but the line to the omelet maker was very slow. The elevators were also terribly slow. One older woman and her husband said they had waited 20 minutes for the elevator to take them down. Our average was about […] a 5 minute wait. That's too long when we're on a schedule. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
I don't mind old hotels, but I do mind unclean and poorly maintained ones. Dirty carpet, bathroom, clogged sink, broken outlet cover, etc. I am surprised hotels talked me into this over Marriott facilities nearby. Shuttle service is nice, but that's about it.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Pleasantly surprised excellent choice"
I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. I am very picky about my hotels and seem to be disappointed alot for what you pay for a room and what you get. I will stay here everytime Iam in KS because i know I wont be disapointed.Genuine Expedia guest review
